  • Never get tired of this. Who could?

Is he really playing at Rock City, Nottingham on 23 March? as somebody has posted.

  • This is one of my favorite songs by James Taylor

  • Along with his masterful picking is a voice that soothes. He does it so effortlessly, but there is true magic here.A longing inside all of us.

  • timeless

  • This is for my uncle Jimmy

  • handsome man, with fantastic talent!

  • I surprised my self by knowing the lyrics to this wonderful song. This used to be my lullaby, my parents would both come and sit on my bed and sing this song. When I was little, it was what I thought of when the word magic was mentioned. <3

  • great song ..missing the olden days.

  • he looks like todays singers, but the difference is that he does singing better

  • @arbanaskocudo There are plenty of god singers out there today - just watch idol. The difference is that James Taylor are a genuine musician.

  • The first of December was covered with snow... but so was the turnpike from Stockbridge to Boston. The Berkshires seemed dream-like on account of that frosting...

With ten miles behind me, and ten thousand more to go...

Lyrics that haven't been matched (by a "pop" artist) in forty years...

  • This is such a beautiful song. I sang it a few times to my new horse who was having trouble settling in at the new stable during the night. I hope it helped him a bit.

  • What's really cool is that the Beatles discovered James Taylor.

  • Always been my favorite since 1970,,,

    Love to sing this one

  • My mom always used James Taylor as an example of why I should never cut my hair, because now he doesn't have any.

  • How can someone dislike?

  • @JuniorKilat67 Because they are jealous. The man has looks, talent and legendary following...

  • in all the renditions of t6his song over the years that gibson sounds the best to me boy

  • As if some one could hear.

  • Was played this from birth by my dad, after him passing away when i was 7 (8 years ago) i cant help getting the lump in my throat at the sound of Taylor

  • @xaenon No, they sound better...Hmmm

  • I play this every December 1st!

  • recently my friend James died at the age of 18, this song was played at his funeral, a beautiful song to describe the life of a beautiful man

  • @dhovey83

Sorry for your loss :( <3

  • As an Englishman, I love listening to Taylor, King, CSN, Joni etc because it sounds like the very best of America; I haven't visited (yet!), but I can almost feel the Californian sun and smell the air. Love this music - distinctly American and proud.

  • I've been listening to this song for 40 yrs. now. It never gets old, even though I have.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • Ever notice how the older artists sound the same way 'live' as they do on their records? Something to do with their having talent, methinks.....

  • @xaenon Yeah,...where would "artists" today be without overdubbing, autotune, and synthetic tone adjustments?

  • james taYLOR REMINDS OF laying in a meadow made of feaTHER like things

  • I grew up with my aunt singing me this song to her two neices and it was always special because she's been to the Berkshires, and the turnpikes in Boston. And my birthday is the first of December. <3
