I am an American and have been living in Sofia the past 4 years with my Bulgarian wife and I must say it is such a unique experience to live in Bulgaria. I am originally from NYC and the feeling here is so different and amazing. I love Bulgaria but hate the fact it is run by such corrupt politicians who rouin Bulgarias chance of progress. I'm Greek , I live in Sofia and I have to say that I feel like I'm home ! Very friendly people , very nice city , lot things to do ! Almost the same culture , same religion even same music preferences ! Cheap shopping and living . The only bad thing is that you see only very rich or very poor people . No meadle situation . But as Nicolov7 said , Sofia is just Sofia ! Shouldn't be compared with other cities . It has a unique beauty!

We Greeks must never forget the help that Bulgarian president Zivkov gave to Greece in 1987 when Turkey threats us with war..And remember that in 1987 Greece and Bulgaria belongs to different alliances,but Zivkov moved Bulgarian army in order to be ready to help Greece against Turkey. I am an American and have been living in Sofia the past 4 years with my Bulgarian wife and I must say it is such a unique experience to live in Bulgaria. I am originally from NYC and the feeling here is so different and amazing. I love Bulgaria but hate the fact it is run by such corrupt politicians who rouin Bulgarias chance of progress. Still, Bulgaria has come a long way and I wish all Bulgarians the best!

At least in BG we have a real democracy, not a 2-party system. There are many political partys in the states but the only two that anyone pays any attention to are republican and democrat, and on occasion independents. In fact, I bet if you were to survey people on how many political partys there are in US, the vast majority would say 2. The US is barely a democracy. As for journalism, there are several reliable outlets, but they are rather drowned out by polarizing propaganda, usually from the right. (Fox news)

I'm Greek , I live in Sofia and I have to say that I feel like I'm home ! Very friendly people , very nice city , lot things to do ! Almost the same culture , same religion even same music preferences ! Cheap shopping and living . The only bad thing is that you see only very rich or very poor people . No meadle situation . But as Nicolov7 said , Sofia is just Sofia ! Shouldn't be compared with other cities . It has a unique beauty!

We Greeks must never forget the help that Bulgarian president Zivkov gave to Greece in 1987 when Turkey threats us with war..And remember that in 1987 Greece and Bulgaria belongs to different alliances,but Zivkov moved Bulgarian army in order to be ready to help Greece against Turkey. Most student housing at universities are not in very good condition, but for 400 euros per month have perfect private apartments.
