  • wunderful music ! thank you

  • what instrument is this =) ?

  • @y8yap It's called an "igil" an instrument normally used in Tuvan music to accompany "throat singing". I just posted a live version of this, see my channel, and you can hear a little bit of Throat-Singing at the beginning. "Tuvan's" are people from the small country of Tuva, though I'm not Tuvan.

  • Lol idiot thats not a ukelele LAWL

  • wowww this is such a beautiful song, inspirational video and such an interesting instrument. this song has filled my heart with love. what better way to spread peace than to use the universal language of music. people need to realize that we can solve our problems by working together collectively, peacefully to make this strange existence of all beings more enjoyable and fulfilling. Peace!

  • @tkuliocowske Thanks very much, tkuliocowske, glad it inspired and moved you, keep spreading the message! -John

  • Can't stop watching your videos because you are so good with instruments that most people have never seen or hear about even I had to look up some of the instruments you are playing so I can learn more about them.

Your music is great pieces of art which I like a lot and hope you continued putting out great music for the hole world to listen and see.

  • WOW!!!! THANK YOU!!!!!!

  • Wow, phenomenal!!!

The thing I really believe is that if it can be done in Israel and Palestine, it can be done ANYWHERE! This is the project to believe in and to throw your weight behind, because all of these kids - not to mention kids everywhere - should be able to focus on learning and living rather than hating and soldiering.

It's donation time, boys and girls. If it works in this region, it can be a model for ethically- and culturally-divided populations around the world.

    !I'm in

  • AMAZING !

  • You know what the scary thing is...when those children who are using all that artillery grow up, they are going to be so much better at using them than a lot of the adult soldiers who hadn't been through the same thing at that age.

Children learn so much faster than adults do, and once they learn it, it becomes ingrained into their subconciousness forever.

Not like an adult where it would just be learned information that they could forget if they didn't practice.

  • incredible sound! I just love it!

  • great stuff! how about something a little more LIVELY?

  • Beatifull !

  • It's so amazing dude! Keep goin'!!

  • é disso que o mundo precisa irmão!

  • excelente causa NO MORE WAR ! PEACE AND LOVE

  • That instrument actually being played in this video sounds more like that old Japanese instrument, don't know the name.

  • RESPECT !

  • grat! keep going with this project! :))

  • absolutely great!! bravo! just amazing!

  • So powerful. I have added this to my YouTube channel's playlist, favorited it and also cross-posted it on my Facebook page. I want everyone to hear this. Thank you for such profound beauty and meaning. BTW, proud Italian-American too!

    (The GLOBAL dialog)

  • You are great!!

  • you are a brilliant musician...ive watched a few of your videos and you are excellent, you can play all of these obscure and different instruments with such smoothness and flow

  • Thanks faubs, very much appreciated, glad you enjoy the music and videos :) -- John

  • Awesome, thanks for the invite

  • Incredible, Seeing is believing

  • Thank you very much! :)

  • beautiful but..... you know what the problem, The problem is that the children were born into war and have no choice, only to listen to parents and because of their parents fighting all the time, they can not be together .... and i born in israel, i live in israel and i think like you...

  • have you thought of joining up with banksey, porg and GRL? they could bring amazing things to the table

  • is that home made instrument?

  • So beautiful! Thanks.

  • nice to know that there still are people who think about the lives of others.

  • what instrument is that that you are playing?

  • Read the description

  • great music,

    I'm moved by it

    nice man!

  • this video stoped me in my tracks while I was skipping trough other videos and I was moved by it....thank you for sharing

  • You're welcome, happy you found it !

  • Very nice work my friend.

  • This song has power. Maybe enough power to change the world...?

  • Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it. Hoping it provides a little inspiration to others :)

  • thank you man peace & love.

  • you're welcome, glad you enjoyed it

  • I haven't cried like that for such a long time. Shame on the hate mongers of the world. One of the most moving videos on U-Tube, for sure.

There are no solutions outside of love !

  • Thank you very much, I'm glad it moved you.

  • What beautifull.......crying the crazy world where we live......peace, no war, no frontier, no bad will be so better and somewhere so easy.

  • This instrument is amazing, and you play it so well. What a wonderful way to bring attention to this cause. God bless for all your doing in this fight for innocent children's lives.

Still enjoying my Hapi E minor very much. Gloria

  • Thanks very much, Gloria! Hopefully my little act will help out the real heroes in this cause a little :)

  • Awesome sounds man!

  • Lets make music not war... music is the language of our soul. When people are playing and listening they´re not killing.

    Very noble cause !

  • i would like some information about the cd's..where i can find them???its just perfect

  • You and Igil are an amazing pair. Thank you for a hauntingly beautiful tribute to children all over the world. It's heartbreaking and tragic to see innocent children with guns and weapons, not books and pens; robbed of the sweet gift of childhood. Your courageous friend Paul is such an inspiration, armed with a ukulele4peace in Palestine and Israel. I resonate with all you both stand for - music4peace:) I could start a U4P in the South Pacific. Click my name to see my vid on Gaza - Peace2U xx

  • Thanks very much Sophia, and I checked out your video too. Sad, but if we all do our own small parts, there is hope to change things for the better and positive :)

  • very noble cause! Shalom, Salaam, Om Shanti, Peace!

  • very nice, thanks a lot.

  • That's wonderful!

    Sounds good.

    I like this song.

    Good playing and moving.

  • oops sorry, Where*

  • hey good job, please can you tell me when can I get this music ?

  • Very powerful and absolutely beautiful.

    Thank you.

And you're building quite an igil fan club too(which now includes me)!

Such patience answering the same question so many times.

One very slight complaint: how does that apostrophe keep getting into "ukuleles"? I keep reading "ukulele is for peace" which makes its own peculiar sense.

    Wonderful picture of the tank-cosy.

  • Amazing!

I want to now all about the instrument!

That Igil contains so much spirit.

Do you think it's possible to make one by myself? I mean, it has only 2 snares and isn't that complicated, or am I wrong?

    Please help me? :)

  • luvin the music and movement!

  • what is that instrument you are playing?

  • It's called an "igil (ee-GIL), a folk instrument from the country of Tuva, traditionally used to accompany throat-singers.

  • Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • De la reputa, buenisimo, si quereis oir mas achunta a IGIL que es el nombre tradicional del instrumento y ya veras que sorpresas se veran...Beautiful!!!

  • how would i go about buying an igil??

  • i want to buy an igil, man they make such a powerful deep sound, but i got a question, u're not using any echos added with it are ya? it's weird that it makes like a good echo reverb kinda sound, i luv it and luv this song

  • There's a bit of echo on that one, and the pickup under the bridge does add a little more bass response than playing straight acoustic does, check out some videos by "Huun Huur Tu" one of the great Tuvan ensembles, to hear some un-amplified playing, just to compare. and thanks very much for the comment too :)

  • This is my favorite song you played on the igil other than the stuff with the throat singing.

  • Thanks very much!

  • Kids teaching parents, that's cool.

  • Great playing!

  • bravo!!!

  • Thank you for doing this! I also love the music! Roeleke

  • You're welcome, thank you for listening! :)

  • its very nice to see, that still are persons that think like you 4 example.

    reat music,

    and btw,

where can i get an igil i've knewn the intsrument since the age of 8 but i NEVER saw a place where i can get them, in shops. or either in the net.

  • Thank you for the comment, there is a person in Tuva who sells online on Ebay from time to time, the people who have gotten them have been happy with their experience. I'll check around for you.

  • Very very very nice!

What is the name of this instrument?

    It sounds beautyfuly!

  • It's an Igil, like ShadowCut said.

  • You seem like a beautiful person, you know the true meaning of music.

  • why thank you, I'm glad I can share a little of what I can do musically :)

  • ive heard about the terror that they go through and i burst into tears just thinking that they die before they even reach 14 or 15.its just too sad. but you and your beautful music and videos just inpire to a legnth that no human could imagine...just amazing work man truley truley!!

  • Thanks very much for your comments! I'm glad to be able to help spread this message in my own little way and possibly set off a spark in others who may also do what they can in their own ways to help spread more light in the world, especially where children are concerned.

  • no thank you for this.also is there a way i can help!!??!?!?! i really want this stuff over seas just to stop so they can be in peace.and its just too stressful for them i imagine.if you have a website i would love to hear about it!!!! peace and love man

  • please go to Ukuleles for Peace ,com for more and also see our u tube video in 2 parts type in Ukuleles for peace . Aloha Paul Moore

  • Your efforts to soothe & instill a message of PEACE are truly magnificent. Count me as a believer too. How much PAIN have you helped people avoid? Children are to important to just waste at the hand of adults.

    Much love & appreciation.

  • Thank you very much for your comment, I'm glad I can do a small part in helping spread the message :)

  • Awesome sounds man!

  • Stringed, I meant.

  • WHere can I get my hands on one of those stinged instruments?

  • Thanks !

  • This is truly superb.. the stunning music really enhances the message! On a mundane level - is this the instrument used in the opening theme for the TV series "Carnivale"? Keep up the wonderful work, with love from Australia.

  • Thanks very much! I'll see if it was used in that show, not sure, and not sure it's still on the air, but they did use some pretty exotic instruments in some of their work.

  • great song and work 5 stars

    hope, peace and love

    ***** paolo

  • Congrats for 25.000 views!!!!

  • Thank you! :)

  • PEACE and LOVE to all those kids!

    HARMONY FOR ALL OF CREATION!

    Alexander.

  • Ahhh, there is beauty. Another ray of light to at to the sun of peace that is surrounded in darkness.

    Peace, Love and Light Always.

  • It's very interesting you depicting children go from Weapons in there hands to a small ukulele's.

  • what a intrument is it ?

    a kemence ?

  • An igil, forgot where it's from.

  • It's a mongolian instrument I believe

  • It's from Tuva.

  • Fantastic music, and an amazing instrument. I can throat sing and I really want to learn the igil. Where did you get yours? And how did you learn? And how do you maintain it, such as restringing it? It is so obscure but amazing.

  • do you have CDs to sell? I like your music very much

  • thank you, yes, I have a demo CD on my site at

    asinglethread (dot) com

  • Thanks a lot ..you rock!!

  • its great someone is doing something like this!, the country i live in, Ireland has not seen peace in the last 850 years. More people like Paul are needed in the world of today which is full of hate. Music has always brought people together, and always will.

  • Thank you!

  • thnx.........

  • you're welcome :) thank you!

  • We don't have to follow bad leaders just our own hearts and the music that we hear for peace...!

  • Dear Oddmusic,

The sounds that you are able to capture with your music are amazing. I dont condone to people using drugs, Nor do I attempt to spread my view of drugs to others or promote them on others.

But! I do acid and mushrooms quite often. And I will say by listening to your music, Your skills alone have caused me to experience ungodly things that are on such a level of unspeakable..

Please KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK.

  • Real quick, what's the difference between this and the morin khuur?

  • same basic concept, the morin khuur is from Mongolia originally and has a wooden top and bigger body/sound box, a little more cello-ish sounding

  • Nice music brother, slide show is also fantastic. Nicely done, keep up the good work

  • thanks for the comment!

  • hey hey he had banksy in there :P

  • good eye! :)

  • banksy is one of my idols

  • As I do keep up the good works....Shine...!

  • is that instrument a ukuleles or is it something else?

  • No, it's called an "igil" from the country of Tuva.

  • john pascuzzi = ukelele

    john petrucci = guitar

    john patitucci= bass

    lol?

  • John Pascuzzi= awesome.

  • Hey John,

This is so well done. Fantastic video. There are many videos on you tube that carry a message similar to this but they are filled with images of pain. Children are not born with, spiritual, political or ideological hate. They are taught. Beautiful music, I am left with a feeling of hope. Thanks for posting this work.

    Jack

  • I haven't see those stock photos before. good finds.

  • The message of the video is so moving, tears run down my face, you can see the desparation and fear at the same time in the eyes of these children. They are broken...

Precisely why I always teach my children to bring peace everywhere they go, to send light and love all over the world by transferring these feelings to friends and another people when they meet each other!

  • you just helped restore some of my lost faith in mankind.

    thank you :D

  • I love the sound of the igil. I love the message of the video too. Can I send your link to our local TV station for a feature bit?

  • First of all, thanks very much. And sure, pass the link on as much as you'd like, they can contact me through my website at:

asinglethread [dot] com if they'd like as well :)

  • awesome. you just want to fly away.

  • Very cool music

  • if you want check out my song i wrote called 4+4=AK47 its kinda the same meaning

  • What instrument is that? I love the sound! I'm a violinist, myself, but that is something else. Is it a sanxien?

  • Thanks. It's called an "igil" from the country of Tuva.

  • I've never heard of it before, that's fascinating! Thank you. :)

  • The message is incredible. Peace to you!

  • Hey thanks sloan, back at ya, and nice blues by the way, and Dobro too! :)

  • There is no limit to evil and no limit to the good that comes in response to it. Thanks for informing us that all of this is happening.

  • What a beautiful song and a very moving video! It is a great cause and I will check out the website for more info. Thank you! PEACE

  • You're quite welcome, and thanks very much for the nice comment :)

  • What a great cause! There is too much hate in the world. The only thing I disagreed with, is that a Ukulele is an "easy to learn, four string instrument"! I can't play one because someone like you wasn't around to give me this kind of chance to play music when I was a child! Best of luck on this noble cause!

  • Thanks twinkie :)

  • thanx,great cause!!!!!!peace

  • very well done, i enjoyed it, thanks for posting.

  • thank you very much, glad you enjoyed it

  • very nice song and sounds

and a job well done against the child soldiers

  • Beautiful sounds & brilliant concept... for the love of music & peace!!

  • thanks Michelle!

  • Well done! Wonderful project, GOOD LUCK !!! (now will have a look on website ...)

  • thank you! and keep playing those nice blues tunes, where so much music came from

  • Fantastic, I really enjoyed this video, you are so talented! Keep up the amazing work!! 5 stars! Here is to the Peace Project!! :)

  • Great to see someone actually doing meaningful things with music. The Igil you play does not have a traditional horsehead and the neck appears with a sort of modern designed custom shape. Did someone custom make this instrument for you?

  • Hi, the igil in this vid was the first one I got, it was made by Seth Augustus in the US, he learned to make them in Tuva. I also obtained a traditional igil from Aldar Tamdyn of the group Chirgilchin about a year after that, and use them both of different things.

  • Ah yes he is the throat singing blues man that also plays this instrument. It is said of his music that it is like the music God must hear in his sleep while he has a high fever.
