  • Even in a storm St Ives looks beautiful. Blue sea and white sands.... I love St Ives.

  • I remember this... Very well :P

  • Thank you for uploading this, I found it fascinating .How wonderful to grow up there. I grew on on the West Coast(Calif) in a Seaside town and I always loved it when it was bad weather, just loved when it was stormy. I have no idea why but preferred it that way.

  • Just got back from St Ives today, mostly a windy week and the rain was blowing into the front of The Sloop on Wednesday, a mere breeze and drizzle compared to the strom on the film. The sea has always fascinated me, and it's power is unbelievable.

I do the lottery every week, just in case then I go for a pint in The Sloop every day!

And hopefully, maybe witness soemthing like this in person one day.

  • wow i love it here.... i went with someone i met through "secretshag.co uk" great time.

  • I live in St Ives and this storm was so bad. The waves were coming up so high on the buildings. The police shut off all the roads in case people got swept away!

  • @classicalmusicrock13 Yea they did... I live there to and i remeber driving across the front to go home and the Sea was hitting my car.. It it reached the car it deffinatly would have hit people... So strong and took them with it !

  • That reminds me, I must dig out an old video of Wycliffe!

  • that aint ruff , wazsmater witheee

  • We are planning on moving to this beautiful location next July, and its one of my favourite places in the world. It gets its glorious heat from the Mexican golf stream, also St Ives attracts artist with the unique way it reflects natural light because of the sand and the white buildings. This whole storm thing is rather rare hay, quite odd.

  • @jackmnsadler - Lucky you. Hope they make you feel welcome if you are an outsider....

  • @georgeman2468 They arent like that in cornwall i think the only thing that gets up peoples noses is that some people come to cornwall to live down here to start a new life away from the city etc but they then moan that its not like where they came from before and that alot not all of people visiting litter everything up. All of this ohh arhh crap is noncence.

  • @jackmnsadler I was born in St ives.. Deffinatly a good place to live.. I wouldnt have wanted to be born anywhere else :P

  • I love St.Ives so much! When I was there in October, I ran across where the toilets are.... and I got soaked then I couldn't get back so I had to walk through the town wet and freezing. Then the police blocked it all off so I went up on the Church yard! Check out my video St.Ives October 2008!

  • love your video! Was in St Ives for the last 2 weeks, just returned yesterday. Stayed Barnaloft on Porthmeor, loved the waves and the wind. That's why I always come back to St Ives, there's no better place on earth, absolutely love it.
