for searching in boxes all's ya gotta do is destroy the boxes, shoot them, smack them with the sword it quicker and easier so you dont have to worry about with one did i check
Having enemies stay dead in an area, is a way to make you need to explore! If the enemies came back, you would NOT explore as much, and then complain you hadn't found an uber weapon or something!

Have you gotten to the point when you learn how to change into a dragon. And if you have how long does it take until you learn how to change into a dragon.
The problem what i have with this review, is that it's so biased towards console gaming. I mean come on, if an object is not sparkling, it's annoying? If a quest doesn't involve slaying millions of monsters it's boring? Come on people. This is not a mindles hack&slash, this is a well thought out, complex, PC RPG. Yeah, i said PC. Console gamers are good with jRPGs and action games with RPG elements, but this is a classic RPG for the PC gamer.
@namretsbol no the problem here is the shoehorned a pc style game onto a console and not making changes to accomadate the consoles makes it a mess. The UI on teh 360 version is a mess (and the text is so tiny it makes it difficult to tell what is what.) I played the PC version of this game and it's pretty good (my cousin is obsessed with it) but I prefer Dragon Age, and am so psyched for Gothic IV: Arcania. (I loved Gothic II and III.)
I've been getting into the Massive WRPG genre a bit more lately. It was never really my genre. But I will have to look into this a bit more though it looks a bit TOO massive for my taste.
My first impression was "Oblivion Lite". Not sure if I'd want to spend all my time in the game searching every corner for items..but I do enjoy a good RPG/action adventure.
Refreshing after a dumbed down Oblivion. This game reminds me of Morrowind, and the difficulty he's talking about is part of what sets a good RPG apart from other games. I'd give it a try if I had the time.

Larian knows what it's doing. Divine Divinity and Divinity II: Ego Draconis are proof of that.

The problem what i have with this review, is that it's so biased towards console gaming. I mean come on, if an object is not sparkling, it's annoying? If a quest doesn't involve slaying millions of monsters it's boring? Come on people. This is not a mindles hack&slash, this is a well thought out, complex, PC RPG. Yeah, i said PC. Console gamers are good with jRPGs and action games with RPG elements, but this is a classic RPG for the PC gamer.

@namretsbol no the problem here is the shoehorned a pc style game onto a console and not making changes to accomadate the consoles makes it a mess. The UI on teh 360 version is a mess (and the text is so tiny it makes it difficult to tell what is what.) I played the PC version of this game and it's pretty good (my cousin is obsessed with it) but I prefer Dragon Age, and am so psyched for Gothic IV: Arcania. (I loved Gothic II and III.)

I've been getting into the Massive WRPG genre a bit more lately. It was never really my genre. But I will have to look into this a bit more though it looks a bit TOO massive for my taste.

I dont know how it is in xbox version but I have the PC one and I just destroy all the boxes and pots and get items. It is way less tedious.

My first impression was "Oblivion Lite". Not sure if I'd want to spend all my time in the game searching every corner for items..but I do enjoy a good RPG/action adventure.

Refreshing after a dumbed down Oblivion. This game reminds me of Morrowind, and the difficulty he's talking about is part of what sets a good RPG apart from other games. I'd give it a try if I had the time.

@mtvenar absolutely agree! This will be loved on PC for it's sophistication and depth and will be hated by console gamers like this reviewers. What he was asking for this game to be, the whole way through, was a hack'n'slash dub action action pretending to be an RPG! Well, I would say on PC AND console, the majority of gamers want more depth and more intelligence in their gaming, not less. Only reviewers love the word 'streamlined' - gamers call a spade a spade - streamlined means dumbed down!

@HardWarUK Hell yeah. Streamlined. That's the word corporates use for firing 10,000 workers and ruing 10,000 families' lives. Little Johnny wants to eat? Too bad, I need to pay for my 12 acre lawn to be watered, I need my green lawn! Screw the water supply, people can drink from the ocean! Corporates will burn in hell.
Anyways. Players love searching every crate and chest, it's called exploring and you don't get your RPG money's worth if you don't. And sparkles are for pussies.

@Playstationgamer814 Yes, as it is more RPG than Dragon Age or Alpha Protocol or Borderlands or Mass Effect 1 and 2, or Bioshock. Although it is more action base than The Witcher or Two Worlds or Space Rangers 2, that were all for PC first and foremost.

@gattonero583 I'd agree. Then again a game like this or Morrowind is for more of the dedicated players that spend hours trying to find everything and complete every sidequest. Casual RPG players who find this frustrating will play games like the Fable series instead.
