This is so cool! I'm with you on the flying lessons thing. I think this is so great for this sport and I can't wait to learn more about it and start flying like this too!
1000 MegaWatts ;-( ok we know it's Meant to be mW (milli-watts)
On the power output from both transmitters, One poster thinks 1000mW is legal in UK...Wrong!! for 2.4GHz it's 10mW, for 5.8GHz it's 25mW, so in the UK both would be illegal. Must be careful giving out details to potential buyers, don't want them ending up with all there gear confiscated.
@HeliEye my job is to review. what power is legal in your country is your own job to find out as I can't go around asking all governments of the worlds what FPV video tx frequency they allow so I can review it?
AlishanMao, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't mW = milliWatt? Just wondering. I'm planning on buying a Phoenix 2000, FatShark 5.8Ghz radio system, Futaba 10ch Tx. This is a new hobby for me, and I've never flown a RC plane before lol! I'm an avid heli pilot though, but till today I haven't found the time to fly proper 3d RC helis... Just indoor ones hahah! What setup would you suggest? Also, I live in the UK and have a budget of £800?
@jaydotosh well not sure what setup is allowed in UK. but 5.8G will give you max 1km range if its 500mw. if you never flown RC plane before, no worries. flying through FPV Camera its just piece of cake
@alishanmao thanks buddy! I guessed that FPV would be easier! I play alotta Flight Simulator X, and I'm getting a pilot's licence (full scale aircraft lol) soon. In the UK, Tx of FPV is limited to 1000mW. Any more than that would break the law, and the aircraft would be classed as a commercial UAV. 500mW would be fine. Video request: could you make a tricopter, and then fly it? That would be REALLY entertaining!
@jaydotosh I have posted videos of QuadCopter and one dual rotor (Side rotors, like avatar movie helis) is here for testing. amazing stable with Stabilization system. videos will come soon. you can use 500mW Video tx for FPV and use a 24dbi Patch antenna or a Yagi antenna or use both at the same time and you can get 20km video easily
@alishanmao wow 20km! yeah I checked out the quadrio copter one a few days back, and you made me lol when you wrote "quadrocopter hovers behind you easily, so you can check out some hot babes" LOOL, I dont remember the last time a youtube video made me laugh that hard! Thanks for your time answering my stupid nooby questions ^^
Love your work. How do the different video goggles compare in quality and features (Fatshark, BEV-iTheater-VG230A and the video goggles in the FV01 kit)?
Is the BEV-iTheater-VG230A good enough for flying the plane in FPV and capture the video in HD with another camera possible attached to the same pan and tilt platform as the goggles camera?
@jsantamaria1611 I have experience with FlyTech Video Goggles and a friend of mine spoke to me about Fatshark. Fatshark has wider angle but at the edges visibility is not good and OSD data / words can stretch out become hard to read. some people have headache issues or double vision inside goggle as they could not get used to the angles. FlyTech goggle on the other hand offers smaller image / screens but i have never had any issues as my friend had with fatshark goggle
@alishanmao Thanks for the advice. I took the plunge and bought the FlyTech Video Goggles (FV01) but they are no longer supplied with the transmitters, camera or 'pan and tilt'. Once my separately ordered 5.8G transmitter arrives I want to set up my ground station which includes 900MHz A/V receiver and patch antenna and 5.8GHz A/V transmitter. Question: How difficult is it to maintain a good signal with the patch antenna? What are your thoughts on diversity or antenna tracking?
@jsantamaria1611 antenna trackers are good. But sometimes they go crazy lol. i know a guy who almost lost his plane, cuz when he was 5 miles out antenna tracker suddenly points antenna to ground LOL so I use back mounted Patch Antenna. I know where the plane is going and i turn to that side. keeps LOS
@m4r7ijn I am afraid its too late to do that. as i already mounted the system. but you can see my video My SkyWalker FPV Setup. Heli is TREX600 nitro pro limited edition
Where can i buy this FPV system? Since i'am on 2.4 GHz i would like to know is it posiblle to buy only 5.8 GHz? Due to shipping and my customs is it posiblle to buy from Taiwan or China?
@TOMIC1974 well price is same so they will give you both Tx anyway. I just ordered a new 1.2G 1000mW Tx and Rx with 8dbi Patch antenna from bevrc com it gets you 10km range and can use same video goggles that I have. Wait for my review. maybe you can get that. its a lawmat system very good and can be used with 2.4G radio easily. check bevrc com for details.
@alishanmao thank you very much for your response! I'll wait for your test with a 1.2 GHz 1000mW because I have Futaba 8FG 2.4 and am interested in FPV with a range of at least 4-5 km.
@TOMIC1974 sure few more days for some more electronics to arrive, my SkyWalker FPV UAV plane is already here with Lawmat 1.2G FPV System and Patch Antenna. in one or two week time I will keep you posted. Good thing this 1.2G works with 2.4G so I will be using my DX7
can't wait to see you in action with that sweet bit of kit Ali!
The one problem I've seen with FPV is the break-up of signal occasionally, which spoils the video when playing it back later. How about attaching your keychain cam to the top of the FPV camera; that way it would pan and tilt as you moved your head, but would record in the same resolution, but obviously without any interference! And I doubt the extra weight would make any difference, seeing as they weigh a couple of grams at most?
@LeChave this one doesn't have much break up of signals, specially on goggles, i did not see serious glitches. just that when I went very high altitude and around 1km far, i had a little video glitch but it was less than a sec and video was back. however the Wireless DVR has a poor antenna and many glitches so video recording is not good. Yes thats the plan, Keychain cam on the FPV Cam to record all the pan tilt :D
looks so fracking sweet man, hope it all works great, I tried fpv a few years ago but the cam/transmitter was not up for it (power, few yrs old tech) and the rcvr tuning was soooo sensitive (i needed to make a new huge dial/knob to dial it in, and it seemed like even air pressure changed the tuning). The chit you got looks good, awesome. Looking forward to vids! great vid as always Ali!!!
@chiosex we flew first FPV yesterday and it was awesome. this system is just plug and play and i had tons of fun. I had my very first FPV Goggle assisted sweet landings too. we are going out again today to try it on Phoenix 2000, its more powerful glider so I can climb to more altitude today. I am loving it. Just need a good OSD now :D videos coming soon
hi there i tryed to contact the makerrs of this video system and i have not got a responce. i really want a fpv set up and this one looks very vomplete so i want one .. please send me a link to buy .thanks from randy
@randyneighbour I have contact with them on regular basis, let me know how many kits do you want. and I will set you up a good deal. send me your full destination address too. email me at my other email accounts
yay! FPV! i want to do fpv also but i dont have the money lol. please when you put the camera on the plane, make sure you can see alot of cockpit because that just adds to the realism of fpv
@Racerdog68 thats what I did yesterday. I like to see a bit of cockpit cuz it helps during landings else you just bang the plane on ground during landing. videos are coming soon
@rccrazer email me your full address and how many kits you want. I will set you up a good deal. Keep in mind, I do not make commission selling these kits. Its my pleasure to help other RCers out to get best products and enjoy RC and FPV. The only benefit i might get setting up these deals are free parts or free new products to review from this company and I am totally in for that ;D cuz they are coming out with HD FPV soon
antenna trackers for long distance isnt that great for me so far ,, i use all immerson fpv i got a dish antenna and a flat patch .. 2 miles all i dare take it hahaha ,, i cant wait to see your fpv .. long time waiting . awesome
@420choky I am planning to go for Immersion EzUHF and EzOSD etc. mate, could you please get in touch with me via my other email addresses. I know how to get 20km or more range for controlling the plane using EzUHF and Patch antennas but how do we get that long range video feed. what setup, what antennas are needed. Hope you can share your knowledge with me. I am loving this FPV thing and wanna get into long range FPV.
I just recently watched you fly fpv here on youtube and i went out and got my very first heli today(blade 120 sr).practicing for the day i can fly fpv.do you have videos explaining the setup?
@alishanmao .......you know thats really not as bad as i thought it would be. i figured it would have been in the $800s or $900s....................gonna have to start saving up.......plus it would also bee sweet to see on a car.
@L0otMyHouse Contact me and I can set up a deal for ya. I am thinking to become a dealer of these. hehehe, but first I would like you to wait and let me test it, review its performance and then you can make up your mind.
What is the price for the whole system. Im looking for a complete system.
I would like a large range system if this will do that.
How far will this system go?
