I'm going to write a big paragraph and act like I know what I'm talking about so people will think I'm saying something smart. It is clear that by doing this I can get several thumbs ups. The 2011 group is damn good and comparing them to this other group means you are spending way too much time on youtube looking up these songs and over comparing them.

Maybe you shouldn't listen to these songs on youtbe and should rather buy their albums. In one of the earlier videos one of the singers responded to those who said the same thing as you: he said that these are the reactions they are going for, this is an indication if their jokes landed right, or they'd done a good job, and not least they like to hear the audience enjoying their performance.
Yes it could be annoying for us, but please dont bash the audience for it...

I love this group, and this version is not bad at all, second favorite, but there aren't as many lower voices which can throw off the sound. And while the lead has a great personalized style its not Freddie's. Freddie always sang it with varying levels of intensities.
My favorite one is the black one who can sing higher than me...

I had to go back and watch the 2003 octet's version of this song.
And they do have good points. Especially in the opening. The tuning for this octet is a little off with each other.
But Ryan's voice is definitely more powerful, and to me, more dynamic.
The 2003 octet was nice, but low levels of intensity. They were really just too steady, it's nice to listen to, but not fun!
i also have to say they've gotten a lot better since this performance. <3
