  • I am not Irish, but I have been to Dungloe and all over Donegal. I just love Donegal, and I can't wait for summer to come when I visit again. I usually stay in Falcarragh. Enough of that, so back to the music !! This is a great post, and I thank you for sharing it.

  • What absolutely beautiful music. My wife and I listen every day to all of his 512 recorded songs, seen him live 7 times. No other singer comes close to his pure smooth style!

  • Nice rendition here by Daniel, this song is performed to perfection by a group called 'Emmett Spiceland' it's also on Youtube, Check it Out...

  • i will do that thankyou .

  • I have just found this song by Daniel and have sent it to my friend in Australia, I took her over to Meenbanad in 1969 her only visit to ireland also to Gweedore, she loved this song. DANIEL SINGS IT BEAUTIFULLY.

  • As a Donegal man I would like to help out and let people know that the G is silent. Some people may not know that.

    The Irish Box Player

  • I love this song

  • lovely song

  • Why don't you have 'Dungloe' on the name of the song????

  • Ilove this one trichoone, great as always

  • thanks my friend .

  • Daniel sings this timeless ballad to perfection.

  • tats really nicely sung lovely

  • It's Mary from Dungloe

  • ILL MANERED FART

  • I must be getting a bit slow in my old age, I missed this one, thanks trichoone. I,ve heard Daniel sing this song live many times and he does a brilliant job. I wont do any bragging lol, but I could lol.

And your quite right trichoone the town is spelt sometimes as Dunglow instead of Dungloe and has been for many years, the official name in Irish is, (An Clochan Liath, meaning in English, the grey stone.

  • Thanks Kate nice to see you again and thanks for backing me up with the spelling . I might have said I have seen him many times myself he is a great entertainer my wife liked him a lot as do thousands of other females but from my point of view he is a great singer of the Irish music .

  • its spelt DUNGLOE ya halfwits!!!!

  • hey sorry my friend if a name might be spelt wrong , i have seen it spelt both way's though so if you make one of these vids make sure your spellings are good -trichoone .

  • ive met daniel o donnell

  • no bragging now ! no only joking i have seen him in concert a few times and he always comes across as a very warm and friendly person as you must have found i'm sure .

  • Yeah he was very nice, i got a picture taken with him too, and you know the place he is talking about "dungloe" well like i live there!

  • i have never been to Ireland but would love to go sometime in my life i'm sure i would like what i found - trichoone .

  • How I understand this feeling of yours! I'm part Irish and I've dreamed of going to Ireland someday. Do you know that if you have even a wee 1% of Irish blood in your veins, you are Irish. Well, my 30% should do, right?

  • Hi, Trichoone, I seem to be doing things today that I do not wish to do. I marked a spam on your comment of 2 weeks ago. Sorry!

  • no worries Souzie07 thanks .

  • This is a beautiful song by a wonderful singer. Just like everything Daniel does, this song reaches deep into my heart. Bravo, Daniel!

  • Beautiful!! I love this guy! Anything he sings is great! Just don't sing with Majella. She doesn't compliment his beautiful voice. Stick with Mary Duff.

  • Hey, Frazey07, you say Majella doesn't compliment Daniel's voice, but as I understand, she rarely sings with him and she is shy when asked to perform. Give her time to adjust and I am sure she will be great with him in a duet or backvocal.

  • Welll Done Daniel.

  • This is a great song, and the singer is excellent.

  • it is a great song and i like the entertainer but i think he has a much bigger female audience .

  • Nice video I love this song. I sing my little girl to sleep with this song and others every night ;o) Slainte.

  • thanks , yeh its a nice song isn't it .

  • No comparison to Emmet Spicelands version. Not even CLOSE!!!
