Look up the search warrant online: the only reason that some ACORN temp workers were indicted for registration fraud is that their bosses in ACORN management found out about it, fired them, and turned the information over to the district attorneys office. They reported their own workers who broke the law. What choice did they have? They did the only moral and legal thing. The whole "ACORN voter fraud" story is essentially a hoax as long as it ignores this key fact.

If you had bothered to read the report, you would know they addressed how the ACORN business plan adversely effected consumers. It does seem to be a young organization, founded in 2008. But it also seems to be fairly robust, having published a number of research reports and being cited numerous times by national media. Everything I have read causes me to trust the Consumers Rights League. Nothing about ACORN instills trust in me. Perhaps you should question why you trust ACORN.

Actually, it shows that the filmmaker a liar, as he has claimed to have never been turned away on national television. This is on top of the suspicious editing in the videos, the bad advice the acorn employees gave to him, the man who didn't speak English well who realized what they were talking about and kicked them out before, as records confirm, calling the police, and the woman with the live husband who, thinking they were a joke, used the time to talk about how she had killed her husband.

It has not happened. ACORN mgt. turned in their lawbreaking temp workers and the organization was found to be innocent in court. Even their Republican prosecutor said there was no evidence of wrongdoing from any ACORN manager and even the temp workers were trying to shirk their work, not create false votes, which according to the court findings never happened.

Look up the search warrant online: the only reason that some ACORN temp workers were indicted for registration fraud is that their bosses in ACORN management found out about it, fired them, and turned the information over to the district attorneys office. They reported their own workers who broke the law. What choice did they have? They did the only moral and legal thing. The whole "ACORN voter fraud" story is essentially a hoax as long as it ignores this key fact.

The Consumers Rights League has been flagged as a front organization representing credit card companies, not "Consumers" as you'd like to believe. Outside of a website, all they have is a P.O. Box number. Google them.

If you had bothered to read the report, you would know they addressed how the ACORN business plan adversely effected consumers. It does seem to be a young organization, founded in 2008. But it also seems to be fairly robust, having published a number of research reports and being cited numerous times by national media. The woman here is honest but it doesn't help ACORN much. This was obviously the first time O'Keefe went into ACORN. He was basically casing the joint. He was not wearing his pimp jacket and he probably didn't have a camera. Plus, the Incident Report doesn't give the police anything to go on. It does not describe his planned illegal activities, it only complains of a "verbal disturbance." The ACORN worker in San Bernardino could have killed her first husband. Still investigating.

Non partisan FactCheck . org (which critiques Dems and Repub's equally) looked into ACORN
They say that only 7 employees were actually charged for fraud and only 5 of them were convicted. Also, they found zero cases of vote fraud, only these few workers who faked registration forms to get paid without doing the work.
Has anyone here ever been in a workplace with tens of thousands of workers that had fewer than 7 people caught cheating on their work?

If I did work for ACORN it would have no bearing on the truth or falsehood of my words. Judge my words for their factual content. If this is the best you can do to dispute what I've said, then I wish you good luck.
However, I have never worked for ACORN, but I did know many innocent children in my poor area growing up who were saved from homelessness by ACORN.
Also I detest lies and racism which evidently make up a large portion of ACORN critiques if this comments page is any measure.

The police were called AFTER O'Keefe left the building upon instructions over the phone from another person.
That was done on the basis of suspicions, not an actual disturbance.

roncram, you'll notice I also cited actual sources for the many Red Cross criminal corruption conviction cases I cited, CBS news, Yahoo finance, etc. If you want to win the $100 challenge you must provide some basic sources, not just repeat blanket statements that ACORN is somehow worse.
Again for anyone interested the challenge is this: $100 to the first person to name any community organization as big and old as ACORN with as clean a record. Basic documentation I can check is required.

I have provided more and bigger cases of corruption at the Red Cross than you have produced on ACORN.
I'm not saying Red Cross is evil, they are huge so as you admit, the bigger they are the more individual cases of corruption occur.
Reputation is not the criteria.
Actual factual real life cases are required.

Yes Red Cross has a good rep and it's well deserved. The fact is, ACORN is there to help poor people. People take jobs there that are amazingly low paying out of moral concern for the people they help (in the management at least).
Why would anyone want to impugn such an organization with such a meagre influence. It may be a poorly run organization; that remains to be seen, but why is there so much hatred of it?
The answer probably is that Republicans know that they got 1,000,000 people registered to vote who were mostly Democrats.

I find it quite funny that with all the millions of FOX viewers out there, all the 60,000-75,000 people who went to Beck's 9-12 tea party protest in DC this month, with all the people saying ACORN is so corrupt, the critics have not come up with even one other organization that is as big and as old and as clean and free of corruption as ACORN. Their budget is much, much larger than ACORNs and they have been around much, much longer. How many Red Cross workers have ever been indicted? How many have gone to jail? There are investigations going on ACORN in dozens of states for voter registration fraud and now assisting criminal activity. You need to pay up!

Red Cross has an oustanding reputation in the community. You point to a few problems at Red Cross but it is nothing compared to ACORN. ACORN is showing a pattern of behavior. This kid admits he is not a real pimp and there are no real prostitutes and no real underage girls. The entire thing is a made up fake "sting" involving no real pimps, no prostitutes and no children. You cite 12 cases, in which some employees were found guilty. The Red Cross has had many more cases of actual criminals stealing millions of dollars in donations, misdirecting them, spending them on crack etc.
Saying ACORN is worse is not evidence. Show me the numbers backing up your claim.

Please provide a link to the police report & get a statement from the police that filed the report. Flashing the report isn't enough. People need to see it, read it, & hear from the police who is a witness. Otherwise You have no case. I'm trying to be neutral on My opinions until I see the reports but until then O'keef is up 5 to 1. And so far My opinions are not in ACORNS favor. I want to see the proof.

I saw the raw videos unedited. Looked pretty damning to me. But I did look at the police report acorn filed. The image is too grainy & the hand writing needs to be translated. It's not legible. I didn't say I was Neutral. I said "I'm trying to be neutral on My opinions" & I said "And so far My opinions are not in ACORNS favor" Based on the evidence I have seen thus far. I have heard it stated that there were "Several" Police reports & thus far I have only seen 1 & even that 1 looks suspect.

Where is it stated by ACORN that there are several police reports filed? ACORN did say that several other offices did not buy into the scam or did not help the people out.
This is not the worst or first scandal to rock any organization or business or government. It is very disturbing, but notice when FOX news hypes "ACORN again in the news in ANOTHER OUTRAGEOUS scandal and SEVERAL INDICTMENTS were issued," as non-neutral reporting.

OK wingnut I do see that report and it's a pretty good one. She does say plural police reports, but she may have been exaggerating to make a point as we do in conversations:
"We want to see the videos of the employees not helping these people or the videos where the employees filed police reports." (my paraphrase).
So there may be one but she lumps it in with the other examples with a plural that makes it seem like there were multiple police reports.
