@brazzr Its a device that enables load to be placed on the clutch to give quick launches from different rpms. Say a 3000rmp stally is just that you hold break, put foot on the accelerator, the revs will only go to the rpm that it has been set for, lift foot off brake instant 3000rpm take off, im pretty sure thats it. I drive a manual but a few mates have em and thats how i think they do it
I got a VZ R8 clubsport with 305rwkw and mine is auto. when i floor mine off the line it has much better traction than the ford even though the ford IRS is meant to be better....
@BAwithBALLS Mine is automatic as well. It has the 4l65e. Mime has been recalibrateorgor faster and smoother shifts and in the vz they did a software overhaul so it works much better than the vy2 and below. Automatics are definately faster in a drag than the manuals undoubtedly but I'm fitting a 3000rpm high stall converter on mine soon. The difference a higher stall converter makes is unbelievable.
@BAwithBALLS Ahh never enough mate. You quickly get used to the power. You'll get some decent tyres on it and before long you'll be looking at squeezing a little more out of her. :)
lol the passengers like thats enough ROFL :0 thats funny. Dude give it a 0-100 when ya can be interesting to know if it would be much quicker than mine(manual).
From the start, The auto will leave you behind, But due to auto's on a timed gear change(Easiest way to explain)., You'd have the lead in the end possibley..
what does a stall converter do?

@brazzr
acts as a clutch pretty much, sit your foot on the break and you can rev it upto whatever its set to, without doing a burnout, like dreadly101 said
