The gameplay consits of doing things in so specific ways that it might as well be a movie instead of a game and the quality of the campaign is garbage, its like a demo of a full game, only a small part halfway through another fps. MW2 was like playing through a big budget movie (and I liked it's story), MoH 2010 is more like playing through one of the many documentaries about SF units or real live firefights over in Afghanistan.
In the movies the good guy wears a Mohawk and designer jeans...

I don't think I'm very happy about having the Singleplayer on a completely different engine than multiplayer. I think it's going to feel a little detached, and like a different game. I like DICE as a multiplayer developer, but it don't like their Frostbite engine at all. I don't see why they couldn't have just used what 'Danger Close' is doing with Unreal Engine 3. kinda disappointing in all honesty.
@simonbrackeva I had the PC beta for MOH that they sent out to PC players with Battlefield Bad Company 2 through steam and they didn't let you go prone in the multiplayer. Honestly, I was pretty disappointed with it.

What would make an excellent game is if it was set in WWI and it showed you different characters on the German and british sides. And you make decisions like in Heavy rain, if you make a wrong decision on one out of say 5 people, they get killed by someone you play as on the opposite side. I would love that infact, I am going to take Game design at university to try and make a game like that.
@darioyoga How much longer should it be? I believe long single players can be a little bit monotonous. I believe eight hours should be enough, especially from what I have seen.
@1Dub79 I think it should be longer at least around double that time. A good game should always have a story that wouldn't allow to be rushed in less than half a week and could keep you always interested. If after just eight hours through the story the game get monotonous, than you aren't facing a singleplayer that deals good but is just mediocre.
It's better something superficially intense and short that won't last enough to get boring, or is better something deeper that needs more time?
@tschiefnrone Yes, I remember that I was quite disappointed with COD1 single player's length. Try to think about No One Lives Forever 1&2, Half Life series, System Shock 2, Deus Ex, Far Cry. All of these could be rushed in less than 8 hours but they offered many many things to discover and try. Modern FPS are more or less about mindeless shooting and running through corridors even because young console players know nothing older and better.
yep, thats true somehow :).. but you have to see that those shooters you mentioned had not a very good multiplayer (they hade one (not all when i remember, but not a very good one). these shooters (COD & MoH) concentrate more on the multiplayer experience than the singleplayer experience, thats why the SP is so short.. if you want to play long SP shooter games you will (sadly) have to wait until this MP-shooter movement we have right now ends.. (Deus ex 3 comes out soon :D :D :D)

@AxisOfEternity They can make the game on multiple discs. Before DVDs came out some games were on 2/3/4 CDs. Is putting more than one DVD in a case really an issue? Besides a short game which take large amount of space could be symptom of bad coding: i.e. Alien Vs Predator 2010 was 15 gigs and had the contents of a 2 gigs game. We customers pay with money and we should PRETEND QUALITY GAMES. And don't forget digital distribution: that doesn't need discs, so no excuses there.

@marcusblue1985 Nah they came up with a game that shows what Soldiers go through and bears true respect for those brave guys taking the bullets out there telling their story. The gameplay just seems to be that way but the Story mode is a whole different engine than multiplayer and the story itself bears the story of the Soldier.
lol BC2 has both big maps with lots of vehicles but also has small map(s) with almost no vehicles, and that is what White Pass is on the Rush game mode. Beard DLC is um yea stupid and even though MOH ps2 is the first FPS game I ever tried, I'm so much into Battlefield now it has everything, MOH doesn't do the big maps or vehicles. But it seems the devs are lying, it does feel alike to BC2 and COD sooooo I don't want that. To me, it's another full priced FPS so no thanks.
@DrknssRulz when dice makes noobtubes they generally arent that powerful, in battlefield 2 and 2142 they were hardly ever used and kinda sucked, you launch them from a distant and hope you hit something but you usually didnt, even in bad company 2 they werent that powerful and you were capable of using nothing but noobtubes, but they just didnt do that much except for putting holes in walls, and in commentaries I have seen of the beta people said they do almost no damage, direct hit kinda needed
@alburrito94 the multiplayer on BFBC2 is the best I've ever played, and I love it, but they went and fucked it up and now it's a 5gig download to play online, and another huge download to play the new gametypes.. Me and most of my friends have 4gigs of memory left max. and I only have 530ishMB left, so now I (and a lot of other people) can't play online, unless I sell/delete all the other games I own... it just plain sucks. testicles.

What would make an excellent game is if it was set in WWI and it showed you different characters on the German and british sides. And you make decisions like in Heavy rain, if you make a wrong decision on one out of say 5 people, they get killed by someone you play as on the opposite side. I would love that infact, I am going to take Game design at university to try and make a game like that.

@1Dub79 I think it should be longer at least around double that time. A good game should always have a story that wouldn't allow to be rushed in less than half a week and could keep you always interested. If after just eight hours through the story the game get monotonous, than you aren't facing a singleplayer that deals good but is just mediocre.
It's better something superficially intense and short that won't last enough to get boring, or is better something deeper that needs more time?

@tschiefnrone Yes, I remember that I was quite disappointed with COD1 single player's length. Try to think about No One Lives Forever 1&2, Half Life series, System Shock 2, Deus Ex, Far Cry. All of these could be rushed in less than 8 hours but they offered many many things to discover and try. Modern FPS are more or less about mindeless shooting and running through corridors even because young console players know nothing older and better.

yep, thats true somehow :).. but you have to see that those shooters you mentioned had not a very good multiplayer (they hade one (not all when i remember, but not a very good one). these shooters (COD & MoH) concentrate more on the multiplayer experience than the singleplayer experience, thats why the SP is so short.. if you want to play long SP shooter games you will (sadly) have to wait until this MP-shooter movement we have right now ends.. (Deus ex 3 comes out soon :D :D :D)

@AxisOfEternity They can make the game on multiple discs. Before DVDs came out some games were on 2/3/4 CDs. Is putting more than one DVD in a case really an issue? Besides a short game which take large amount of space could be symptom of bad coding: i.e. Alien Vs Predator 2010 was 15 gigs and had the contents of a 2 gigs game. We customers pay with money and we should PRETEND QUALITY GAMES. And don't forget digital distribution: that doesn't need discs, so no excuses there.

@marcusblue1985 Nah they came up with a game that shows what Soldiers go through and bears true respect for those brave guys taking the bullets out there telling their story. The gameplay just seems to be that way but the Story mode is a whole different engine than multiplayer and the story itself bears the story of the Soldier.

lol BC2 has both big maps with lots of vehicles but also has small map(s) with almost no vehicles, and that is what White Pass is on the Rush game mode. Beard DLC is um yea stupid and even though MOH ps2 is the first FPS game I ever tried, I'm so much into Battlefield now it has everything, MOH doesn't do the big maps or vehicles. But it seems the devs are lying, it does feel alike to BC2 and COD sooooo I don't want that. To me, it's another full priced FPS so no thanks.

The thing that concerns me the most is the number/ variety of weapons in multiplayer.
If this game is mostly going to stick to what was shown in the beta it might not be all that worth it.
Bad Company had all weapons unlocked before level 23 and it got kinda boring getting to level 50 but at least it had a variety of weapons.
as it stands there are only about seven primary weapons in the multiplayer which is kind of disappointing.
But I guess that's what happens when realism comes in to play

@DrknssRulz when dice makes noobtubes they generally arent that powerful, in battlefield 2 and 2142 they were hardly ever used and kinda sucked, you launch them from a distant and hope you hit something but you usually didnt, even in bad company 2 they werent that powerful and you were capable of using nothing but noobtubes, but they just didnt do that much except for putting holes in walls, and in commentaries I have seen of the beta people said they do almost no damage, direct hit kinda needed

@alburrito94 the multiplayer on BFBC2 is the best I've ever played, and I love it, but they went and fucked it up and now it's a 5gig download to play online, and another huge download to play the new gametypes.. Me and most of my friends have 4gigs of memory left max. and I only have 530ishMB left, so now I (and a lot of other people) can't play online, unless I sell/delete all the other games I own... it just plain sucks. testicles.
