Did you read the Wikipedia entry? My first message here was about Friesians used in the 12th Century as war horses. Apparently you didn't bother to READ that. But some Friesians in the early 20th Century were almost as big as Percherons. Take a look at Alva 113 if you don't think so. I grew up riding and working Percherons on a ranch in Montana in the '50s and '60s. I know something about horses.
