I think you could have a used a smaller brush on the Rhino, the one you used there was imho too big for the kind of snow effect and detail you wanted to obtain.
dude, i found a great alternetive for urs. it doesnt look that good on the tanks, but for the bases it looks good, it is just skull white mixed with white glue and i let it dry a bit for about 2 hours in the pot, that is a good consistancy and it is great
man thats cool but dont u think its too much snow on the bases is enough what would ppl say if they saw ur dread covered in snow n ur playing in a desert? ppl would be like lol did u get teleported or something?
Why would you have grass/dirt bases on a moonscape board? It doesn't matter. All that matters is that it fits into your display board. Look at the finished army.
i thought that too, but after seeing a guys base at a store in woodbridge, i realised this. your army should have enough stuff to make the area by them look like a snowy area. think dude, 130 ork boys running across the field with snow seeming to follow them. the guys name was chris, and he told me that Auxelion painted his army. that is how i found Aux's channel and realised we live pretty close, lol
snow is awsome!! just to ask im starting a second army and i dont know wat to do either space marines or tyranids wats yur opinion on wat i shud play??????
Hey Aux, here's an idea if you're gonna splash that snow down on an area you won't handle too much, sprinkle some left over baking soda ontop of the snow mixture, it gives it a really nice fluffy snow look and your glue with set and hold it. The disadvantage is that it doesn't dry hard, if you press it, it'll leave a mark, i'm going to experiment with maybe a thinned glue after that and see how it goes, but you should definitly try it. (shake off excess baking soda like you would flock)
Yeah I'd like a Tyranid painting video as well. I bought some warriors and a pack of gaunts to start playing just recently.
I tried to go for a red exoskeleton with some brown dry-brushed over it and black carapace to give them a kind of volcanic look, but when it was done it just looked like someone puked on my models....
Painting a space marine in 10 minutes? That would be useful too, but come now - you know your subscribers are all Tyranid players! I need to learn how to paint Tyranids, as I'm getting my first ones soon...
I've learned when I was rubbing white glue on my bases, that instead of using the bristle side, you can use the handle. If you're doing something like that then you could maybe salvage a brush and get more for your money.
I do the snow paste exactly the same, but after applying it on a base I sprinkle some baking soda on it before it dries. After this the snow looks more fresh.
thnx now ill snow up my table top this definetly has a beter effect than spackling crack filler or gw snow effect .

could you use baking powder instead of baking soda or would it have a diffrent effect

If you add some brown color, wouldn't it be like mud?

what about adding a little brown, wouldn't you then get something that looks a little bit like mud?

Couldn't you just use GW snow? Or is GW snow just in England, I don't know but if it is just out in England then that's just stupid.
PePethegamesmaker 2 years ago
The GW snow is crappy/powdery. Not that good
Auxelli0n 2 years ago
I didn't know that GW selled snow, my store only sells the static grass and the dirt kind of thing

But it's flat, and the white glue cracks after a few weeks.

Read up on the storyline, and then choose. Go google stuff about Space Marines and Tyranids!

This is fantastic. I've been trying to figure out how I wanted to base my World Eaters, and I think I finally know now.
Thanks so much Aux!
