I felt bad for Emily and Ian in the flashbacks. I know Ian is the bad guy, but I can't help wishing they could have at least had a chance to be together :(

@behinedthemask - JJ and Hotch know Emily's death is faked because at some point they discussed that faking Emily's death would ensure her safety. I believe this matter is elaborated upon to some extent in later episodes. The other team members weren't told so that there was less danger of the secret leaking. I assume only Hotch and JJ knew since Hotch is leader of the team and JJ is basically head of an executive terrorist unit outside the team or something of the sort.

If she just fled the country, Doyle would know she's still alive and will find her and kill her (based on what we've seen, he's quite skilled at such tasks). Also, why not tell the whole team? The more people that know, the greater the chance of the secret being leaked. The team may seem trustworthy, but you never know, and sometimes secrets slip out by accident.
