  • I just made a guitar cover of this one :) watch?v=f_okeDBerUQ

  • perfect theme to relax while i have some fun with all the young girls in balamb ... er... i mean enjoy my stay at the hotel

  • This music encapsulates being able to explore and talk to people; reading the text boxes and interperating the voices in your own way. And never did they say stupid, meaningless one liners; nor did they 'need' to sound cool like recent voice-over Final Fantasies. You pictured them just talking like normal human beings, and it made the world even more real.

  • I've been listening to all these Final Fantasy songs and it just takes me right back to my childhood. Wish I could relive it. It was such a simpler time.

  • @PandaT1m3 I know the feeling. I had such nostalgia listening to this I had to download the PC version of the game and play it again.

  • their world was so much more beautiful than ours

  • i remeber when i was 9 or ten. i would go to that town and just pause the game and lay down on my bed.. i would lisen to this song for hours.. i love it thank you from posting this. brings me back great memories

  • Too short.

  • thumbs up who want remake of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII

  • i'd expected it to some degree but the nostalgia that sucker punched me actually physically hurts

  • Laguna's adventures..... that would be great... and the time before the game... when they were kids... most of them joined the school pretty early and theres so much i would LOVE to know... final fantasy VIII is my favorite game like EVER... best plot and characters in my opinion... another great idea would be Rinoa and the Resistance =D... so much can be done with FFVIII... love the game... LOVE IT! playing cards is also awesome... everything is awesome in this game hahaha

  • Why does my stomach feel so funny when i hear this?

  • This song is freaking amazing. It sounds just perfect, given where the town is located, and the feeling the music gives you once yo listen to it. Just amazing dude, good job and don't stop making music!

  • @heavensdevil121 I appreciate the comment, although I did not make this, I downloaded this theme from a FFVIII Tribute album.

  • @SockandRock where did you download this from??

  • shit.... brings back old memories. very nice.

when i played the game i walked around in zell's town just to heard this tunes!!

    again and again

  • @9306alan hahaha! same dude...just want to heard this tunes..... great memories...:( i miss so much

  • i have an idea.

Just like FF7, make a story before the time of the original game (crisis core).

    Make smthing about Laguna's adventure???!??!?

    y not?

  • They should remake the game. And the only thing to change would be the 3d models and the music. Back then they only had the normal sounds. But now they simply could use this amazing piece of art.

  • So soothing...

  • the waves in the background is a nice touch

  • just imagine how calm the world would be if every single person played final fantasy...

  • Those little birds just give it that magical finishing touch, don't you agree?

  • ummm, not meaning to be rude, but does anyone know where I can download this mp3? it's really nice and calming...perfect for listening to for many hours while studying/sleeping/ ANYTHING!!!! :D

  • @Shoinie Just use Youtube to mp3 converter. On the occasion that it doesn't have an error, it'll give you an exact copy of the file as a mp3.

  • 4 dislike must be from seifer and his gang.

  • @D2der2333 aaaand, that's "3" dislikes -.-

  • i guess you guys cant hear the windy noise and realize that it is people blowing into their instruments...

  • @Ballinslugger13 mmm, not too sure about that... it doesnt sound like its people blowing into their instruments...unless if you have an instrument that sounds like the waves....

  • FF8 is still the ultimate rpg imho

  • final fantasy just isn't final fantasy without nobuo uematsu

  • listening to this while studying such calm music

final fantasy 8 one of the best

  • To the people complaining about the 'orchestral' on the name. What makes Breeze beautiful is its simplicity. This is as orchestral as the song can get due to authenticity.

  • 4 dislikes?

    what a bunch of phags

    this song is awesome

  • I remember when this game came out was right when I started going to high school. Everyone was playing the game back then and we used to joke about calling our high school a Garden and making plans to attack our rival schools. Good times.

  • How is this "Orchestral"?

  • @egretdingo It's in more life-like instruments, instead of the sound file of the game.

  • @vincent10660 Not really. If that's the case, it's just barely any better. Maybe it's the ambient sounds you're talking about?

  • omg..i just love this game so much!! <3 i just can't believe it! :s

  • i could just sit in the front yard, in the middle of the day, with this song playing endlessly, and not care about a thing around in the world...just peace, quiet, and relaxation...ahhhh....

    *goose bumps*....=P

  • How is this orchestral? It's "Breezy" with sound effects. Not that there is anything wrong with the original song, I love it - but this isn't titled very well.

  • It has opened my creativity too

  • Sweet, panflute! :p

  • FF8 has such a stellar soundtrack. From Balamb Garden, to Liberi Fatali, to this and everything in between.

    Jeez.

  • @HylianSpirit

its so so true...i never get tired of hearing FFVIII OST...UEMATSU rullez so much

  • @Ruizeren nobuo, akira, kōji, hajime.. all japanese, all composer, all awsome.

  • @oly355 Don't forget about Yasunori Mitsuda

  • @SockandRock you still got my point did you? :P and the list would have been way too long for the japanese musician genius

  • @oly355 Lol true... there are so many great composers.

  • @HylianSpirit So from the intro to the intro to the intro?

  • @embrex104 That was more a contrast between the styles, but you're being a smart-ass~

  • @HylianSpirit I was, I agree though, all of the music at the beginning was the most captivating and memorable.

  • We all love this song <3

And I'm probably going to get downrated for this but... about the whole thing about Zell and the girl at the library... no matter how much she tries, he completely ignores her, while he's always trying to get attention from Squall or Seifer... I've talked about it with many FFVIII fans and they all agree that Zell must be gay. Explains the whole "Ignoring the pretty library girl and going after the HOT guys" thing.

  • He isn't gay :P He's just a fighter. His sole ambition is fighting, and because he never gets the attention from the strongest of the people close to him, he constantly tries and tries and tries to get acknowledged by Squall and Seifer.

As for the Library girl, he's just completely oblivious to her, because he's more focused on fighting and getting stronger

  • gatosigiloso, very perceptive. I've been discovering more depth to these characters now than I did when I used to play the game a decade ago.

  • Hahah! Totally agree on the Zell comment.

    Anyone recall the prison scene?

  • Just pure awesomeness. I could listen to this on repeat again and again - always one to lift my mood and of course, it reminds me of how good FF8 was.

  • I don't understand... where's the orchestra?

  • So birds, and waves count as sounds of the orchestra now a days? Hard to believe a place so calm gave birth to a character like Zell..

  • Zell's probably like that because he was bored out of his mind in that little town haha.

  • R.E. datfxpunk77

Zell probably ended up like that because he was always getting picked on by Seifer: "Chicken-wuss!" And because Squall always ignored him, and because he was the only character in the whole game who didn't have some kind of romantic subplot. I mean, Irvine had Selphie, Squall got Rinoa, even Quistis had hidden feelings for Squall... but what about Zell? HIS only love interest was the hot dogs in the canteen...

ugh, that sounded pretty bad. No innuendo intended, seriously.

  • haha, okay i never thought about it like that, good point.

hot dogs in the canteen? haha i'm gonna use that as a terrible joke from now on!

but i definitely agree with you.

  • actually, zell was pretty lucky with girls himself. he had an admirer from the library, if you choose to do the side quest.

  • His love interest was the Librarian with Pigtails. She comes visit Zells house at Balamb to check up on him. and when you take with you in disc 2 to Balamb before the missle strike she gives him a Seifer Card and wish him the best wishes where he gets nervous/blush. Also in the last FMV of the game you seem near her as well before choking on sweet bread.

  • You're wrong. There's a subquest with helping Zell getting on a date or somewhat, I dont't remember it clearly

  • You know what I mean, it wasn't worked into the main story. And I never saw Zell as a lady's man. (That said, he couldn't be worse than Squall.) He reminded me of a jokester I knew at highschool, always losing his temper and showing off and pulling off pranks - huge laugh with the lads, the girls just thought he was an idiot.

  • lol true

  • hate to burst your bubble, but zell was an orphan who was adopted by the dinchts who lived in balamb. if you remember, he was in an orphanage along with all the other characters as a child before he was adopted

  • Being around g/f's for the passed ten years, I guess it actually caused my mind to slip for a moment. Also the poor child had no home, and you can not deny the small fishing village of Balamb helped contribute to the character of Zell.

  • that is true. well i guess zell was always zell though

  • this song takes me to a special place. it's almost undescribable what this song does to me, but it brings me back about 10 years to an absolutely carefree time of innocence and freedom.

  • absofuckinglutely

  • I feel the same way.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah kiss that goodbye dude lol so much for innocence and freedom as soon as you hit 18 all that is gone lol

  • Damn, you hit it right on the spot. It hits hard once you get to high school, but then once you go to college....

Final Fantasy VIII, as corny as it sounds, holds a special place in my heart. The characters, the plot, the themes, and the ending... just everything about it.

  • Same. It's just a beautiful story, and the lessons in life it teaches you just stick with you at a young age.

Final Fantasy 8 changed me so much, and broadened my horizons, "Creativity" wise. :)

  • @Paymenow corns done

  • @Paymenow I know EXACTLY how you feel. To the T. Every time I think of the game, I remember the intense emotions, the flawless symphonies, and the colorful characters. Though the first time I played it was at a very young age, I still remember vividly every detail of the game. None of the other FF games have reached this level of attachment with me.

  • @RazzleBerri

Exactly! Just the overall theme of finding one's identity, while establishing yourself and building a foundation for the future yet with people that you care about. It's an inexplicable feeling. Also young love, and coming of age as one is leaving his or her innocence and is facing the "real world". As a young'n, stress and other life problems were unknown to me, or at least I was not cognizant of it. It's a nostalgic feeling. This was a part of Squaresoft's "Golden Age" FF games.

  • @RazzleBerri Me too !!!! I played the others FF games too...but I think everything that was made after VIII was just without all these emotions...It seems like this for me. It's like action and a lovestory... But its almost only fantasy

I mean FF VIII had at least something to do with the real life. What the people are longing for. Don't know how you all see that but for me VIII is also the best.... and it's just not fair to leave it at this. Forgetting VIII and doing something like XIII which

  • @brotkorb92 i felt that the characters were more deep and relatable than in any of the other ones. everyone in 7 was a silent emotionless badass/whiny bitch. everyone in 10 was deluded, superstitious, and tidus as a character was just terribad. the story of 8 was definitely brill.

  • @timlamiam OMG youre so right !!! Im so amazed that people like you exist these days :D god thank you !

Do you believe there will be a FF VIII remake?

  • @RazzleBerri was so unpopular here in germany at least. I wish they would make a remake of it. JUST the graphics, nothing else. (Nothing is better than the original of course I love the graphics) But it would be nice to see have a better perspective of the bodies and faces and all the details on the characters don't you think? I heard that FF VIII should be the most wanted game to be remade after VIII its VII of course...I couldnt believe it when I read it :o maybe square-enix will do something?

  • @brotkorb92 wanted to make exactly the same comment, believe it or not XD

  • @RazzleBerri pretty cool how i kinda feel the same way. while i still play the new ones and have played many of the others, none of them are like 8. not even close. the only one on the same tier, imo, is 7, and that's because 7 was so ahead of its time and THE game that put rpgs on the map.

  • @Paymenow ahh dont u want these days back? when you had a peace of mind and just enjoying the world of final fantasy before worrying about anything in the world :'( I want that back :'(

  • @itachy963

I do too in some ways. The more we get older, the more we learn or know, the more difficult it seems. I like FF8 because it seemed like everything would work out in the end; you end up with your significant other, you persevered through obstacles that were external and internal, and all that.

  • @itachy963 oh yeah me too......its really interesting how many people are feeling like this...I never knew that. Maybe there'll be a time, where we'll have a day which will feel like the days as we played FF? Only that it's real life, I mean like, not worrying about anything just enjoying life and all that? This is possible I think..

  • @brotkorb92 I doubt this exist in earth ... We really ended the best period on our life man :( .... well maybe in heaven it will be that! who knows!

  • @itachy963 which is why i ask,if heaven is so wonderful as described, why are we struggling to live down here on earth? i have many answers,i want to know yours.

  • @Paymenow OMMMG I'm so relieved that im not the only one thinking like this :D:D:D:D

  • @Paymenow theres nothing corny about liking a game that brings back memories or holds a special time for us. Its human to remember things fondly like that and reflect upon it

  • @Paymenow Nice comment, I think games such as these (FFVII, FFVIII, MGS1), especially if played when young, always have a place in the hearts of those that played them.

This song reminds me of strolling around with Laguna at Winhill, trying to piece together an idea of what is happening, and interacting with a chainmailed statued knight that I still don't know the import of!

Those were good, fun, stimulating times.

  • @BandWagon1987 i know the game so well even nowadays. i replayed it like 3 years ago and just utterly raped.

  • @Paymenow Totally agree, VIII has a place in my heart unlike any other FF. I love them all, but this game is just so unique, rich, and fulfilling, it's on a whole different level. I love this game, its music, its story, everything.

  • What a nice and relaxing tune...!

  • socklandrock

you like dbz and final fantasy so do i :)

damn we have quite a few things in common and i love this theme i have always been looking for it 5/5

  • Hey everyone, I found the source of this version. It's by Michael Huang from FantasyReborn (google it). He does all sorts of final fantasy remixes.

  • This song is amazing. I like the original better but this almost sounds like the original.

  • One of the best games of all time, incredible music

  • Agreed...

  • fucking agreed haha...my first love =P

  • Word.

  • Awesome theme for an awesome game

  • You can hear the ocean waves in the background!

  • This song always has this effect on me...it's nice

  • all you need to do is stop thinking about it, and relax. being too productive is bad for your health.

  • Amen to that... (yawn)... This one's a great just before sleep. Ahh....

  • @wowpepap you are so correct. Being TOO productive is bad for your health.

  • Ah, calms the mind and soul :)!
