@INgirl812 i was amazed to hear them in concert because because they sound so amazing, almost like more passion live vs studio.. no autotune bs here =) I love these guys, got their entire discography!
i love how he says they are rock and roll, and lets the music speak for itself. he doesn't feel the need to elaborate with all these shitty genre descriptors, like alt-funk, art rock, etc. you go, david letterman.
I really like this version. These guys almost sound better live on everything I've seem so far. I don't have any of their albums yet, but I will be collecting their discography, preferably on vinyl. Does anyone know if they have the live versions released anywhere? As far as the dancers go, in my opinion, I think they really help support the emotion of this track. I really like the image if the band playing with the dancers doing their thing. So powerful. This song is so addictive. Als
@Tralalala00 Regarding what was given to letterman at 4:10 I do believe it was a business card. contact info, things of that nature. I'm in a band and we ALWAYS hand them out to the venue owners after the show. NEVER BEFORE!! That makes you a douche ;)
OMG i just listened to the song on the TV. then i wanted to listen to it one again so i found that vid. and when i just read the comments i found out that he's dead !! :O Restinpeace!
Performed 6 days before Gerard passed, even then it must of been emotional as they knew he was seriously ill. You can really see/hear it in the performance.
this is great, the whole album/movie is (if you haven't seen nine types of light you're missing out, arguably one of the greatest works of musical art in a while) Their full David Letterman performance of 8 songs (uploaded on the TVOTR site) is next level. Just amazing, Young Liars is a great way to open a show...
This is totally "Awesome" to say the least. And I would be ashamed to have anything but "Good" to say about the dancers, choreography or anything else about it!
Choreography in musicals and all can be cool, but I've never been a fan of modern, interpretive dance. Also, the only time I thought dance worked w rock music was when I saw Devotchka in May of 2000: they had an aerial acrobat, the frontman's girlfriend, I believe, come out for the opening encore piece. It was awesome, sexy, cool and worked perfectly w Devotchka's gypsy sounds!
the dancers were different, but how often do you see someone try it? they're probably just sick of having all of the cameras on them (which, of course, isn't boring to watch at all)...hey tried bringing something new to the mix...just like how their music is. i have so much love and respect for them for doing what they do best, which i keeping creativity alive.
I respect TVOR for trying something new, but I don't really see the point in bringing dancers on stage when musicians are performers themselves. Especially when TVOR puts so much energy and passion in their performances. It kind of throws off the vibe.
Dancers were gay. Love this band, but I would be embarrassed to watch this in front of somebody who didn't know them. Also, the tone of this song is kinda different live. Can't compare this to the performance of Dancing Choose they did last time they stopped by Letterman.
I'm here from Cee lo Green 'Talking to Strangers' show on MuchMore.
