  • get that fucking shit flame effect off ur videos ffs

  • People can debate how great of a fighter he was, but at the very least he has to hold some sort of a record for taking such a ridiculous amount of abuse. The man just absorbed punishment. It's crazy. He swung bomb after bomb until they landed, getting beaten to a pulp the entire time. It might have been lousy technique but damn what a chin.

  • Dern, at 0:38 Rocky just wound up and brought that punch from out in left field....BAM!!

  • All im sayin is.. if Ali tried to do a rope a dope against Rocky, it's over.

  • MUTE THIS SHIT

  • LOL at all the diehard Marciano fans that continue to say he'd beat Ali with his "courage" and "heart" and "strength." Just so we're clear, there is *absolutely zero* video evidence to suggest that Rock (or any of the earlier fighters for that matter, like Joe Louis) had the footwork, speed, and ring movement necessary to EVEN PHYSICALLY TOUCH Ali in 1965-68, let alone outpoint or KO him. Period.

  • @DaTruthMasta - Henry Cooper didn't have fancy footwork or speed and wasn't even as physical strong as Ali but it didn't stop him from flooring him. If I remember correctly Ali was saved by the bell and the ref allowed his cornerman to use smelling salts to bring him around which was illegal. I'm taking anything away from him I'm just pointing out that he wasn't Mr invincible that all he's fans make him out to be.

Ken Cockell was getting massacred, ref should have stopped it sooner.

  • I love classic boxing videos, and it angers me to see them ruined by shitty effects and shitty music. It seems like everything good in this world is ruined by idiots with no taste.

  • why the music

  • at 1 34 what the ..?? at 1.35 oh there it is..... - brave guy... could take a punch most would have wimped out to the canvass. I take my hat off to Don Cockell - Rocky has a punch and a half but looks a bit slow by post 1963 standards. Mind you looking on current talent he is back in the game against any of todays pretenders.

  • There's an announcing track available for this fight which would be preferable to the idiotic music.

  • Too many "If this and If that" bullshit. Marciano did it. They lined'em up, and he knocked'em down... that's how it happened and it will always be just that simple.

  • like that fat shit had a chance against the rock..

  • Why does everyone argue so much about Marciano? I've seen films of all of his fights (the ones that are available, that is). The secret to his success was his freakish ability to not get knocked out. He was slow, he was clumsy, and he missed as much as he connected. BUT! He hit hard now and then and could get hit all night and not even get his bell rung. Genetic jackpot.

  • @DarrylXE.

I thought Roberto Duran was indestructable until the Thomas hearns fight . It was unelievable to see him get knocked out cold. And I thought Joe fraziure was indestuctable until he fought George Foreman.

Rocky only seemed unstopable because he never met any monsters such as Foreman or a peak Tyson.

We will never know if he could have survived Listons punches because Rocky never came out of retirement to fight him, although i know Rocky was really too old by then.

  • @DarrylXE He barely fought anyone over 200lbs. The argument is could he take it from monsters bigger guys who struggled were easily over 210. It's much harder to bully skilled guys with the style he had being 180 something and with them leaning on him all night.

  • Marciano gets my vote as the best heavy weight of all time, good friend of my told me stories about this fight. He was a good friend of Don's so Don Cockell is one of my all time boxing legends!

  • which song is this?

  • He never fought anyone of any size or quality who was in their 20's!! You just seem to want to ignore that.

  • Wow, what performance, fouling the crap out of a 45 lb overweight middleweight who had a thyroid problem, what power, what stamina, what will to win. Early to mid fifties was a very weird time for white heavyweights.

  • Heh....1:05 they're not gonna stop that?!

  • ali was the bigger man. He was faster and had a excellent chin. Don't think he would have stopped marciano but he would have won by decision. Marciano wasn't that accurate of a puncher which would have been his downfall

  • The arguments get tiring for who woulda beat whom, blah, blah, blah. They don't mean anything because the fights didn't happen, and there is no way, no matter what you think, that can ever determine what could have happened had fighters from different eras met in the ring. If there were that many absolutes in boxing, then some fighters and fights would have ended differently than they did. Oh yeah, Tyson woulda beat so and so. Sure, okay, whatever you want to think.

  • Guys, get a sense of reality. Marciano was a great champion because of his heart and his sheer determination. Watch Ali-Shavers or Foreman Frazier. There is not a chance that Marciano would've beaten Ali (60s or 70s Ali)--on strength, technique, stamina. Watching an Ali-Marciano card would've been like Ali-Frazier. And Foreman would've knocked Marciano silly just like he did Frazier.

  • @jffrantz

really, read some stuff about his training, he had the most insane training i ever read off.

rocky jogged 7 miles every day, even christmas morning, before fight he ran 10 miles, and the week before the fight 15 miles.

    He had a 'special' bag made - 300lbs !

He liked to run uphill in training (full speed) and then run backwards back down. Did this over and over.

He secluded himself from wife and family sometimes up tp 3 months before a fight, watched his diet, weight and muscle tone.

  • @OropherThranduil Thank you for the info on Rocky. So, based on your knowledge of Rocky and boxing, do you think Rocky would've been able to take some of the big bruisers we had in the early 70's? I'm thinking of Foreman, Shavers etc.

  • @jffrantz

It really would have been hell of fights to watch.

especially prime foreman, the one who fought ali, one of the most unbeatables of all time, but Rocky really could take a lot, and his Stamina like i said far exceeds the modern day boxers of today, most say he was an easy target, but those who actually fought him said otherwise, he's harder to hit than anybody thinks, and a lot of others said even banging together with him hurt, he was a perfect athlete.

  • @jffrantz

for a foreman fight, i think rocky could really went trough the first rounds of that onslaught, because of his stamina he could do what NO boxer of today can, steam up around the 11th round, for example in one of his fights the referee thought about giving TKO to him because of massive bleeding, he heard that and really steamed it up, giving KO in the 8th, his heart could overcome anything and his body, while not looking that special, could take a lot and give a lot.

  • funny fight (i think) would be marciano vs tyson, becasue tyson couldn't win, tyson was good against guys who feared him, he lost to anyone who really wanted to box him, he gave in if his tricks didn't work, he had no heart at all, and rocky wouldn't give in to punches by him, it could be tyson gets him down more than once, but tyson sees rocky get up everytime he would loose cinfidence which always cost him the fight, and also rockys stamina again, tysons used to 12 r, rocky could've boxed 25.

  • @OropherThranduil Tyson couldn't win? How can you delude yourself like that,

I think Tyson could just possibly, and I'm just guessing here, hit as hard as a 40 year old Archie Moore, who floored and obviously hurt Marciano with a right. Marciano was a fine champ, a doggedly determined one, but the best heavyweights of his era were generally past their prime, and Rocky barely ever tipped the scales at 190. If you think Tyson would have no chance against Rocky, you're in a DREAMWORLD.

  • @17865329

Well, Rocky was NEVER even hurt in his fights, you never saw that he had any pain.

He could take everything in 15 rounds, and KFO of his opponent in the last rounds looong after Tysons baby mind would have been broken around round 3 or 4, when he realizes he can't hurt rocky, or, if rocky would have been floored, that he won't stay down there.

  • he had one of the best chins in history, and his right, named the suzy q, is one of the ultimate 1 hit knockouters, no combos, one hit with trusted suzy.

They monitored Susie Q in 1963 and it was a blow that could lift 1000 pounds a feet high..and that was 1963 - 7 years after Rock retired.

Ali himself said when they recorded the comp fight he couldn't believe how hard suzy still was, coming from a 45 year old long retired marciano, he couldn't imagine how that must have felt back in ms prime.

  • Well you guys great uncle and nans 2nd cousin go the crap bea outta him, he kept coming though, good heart.

And what is up with this gay music?

  • Don Cockell is my great uncle:) whoo

  • This is some of the worst boxing I ever saw ever. How can this be good. This is straight trash.

  • Don cockell is ma nans 2nd couson

  • @bulldogchaz That cool, my Granddad used to work for his haulage company.

He had a soft spot for my Nan's carrot cake

  • 0:48 true class, love how he ducks & weaves & fought from the crouch as he done in many of his fights, trully unique.......This man was totally underrated in the technique department also, & my he was a beast in the ring ( check his back while training , V shaped like bruce lee ) also left hooks, uppercuts & possibbly the greatest right hand in boxing history !!

  • Rocky 6 sempre n 1

  • Eddie Machen hadn't started pro boxing at the time, but no doubt would have given RM fits by 1958. Marciano's career was very carefully managed, he paid a 50 percent cut of the gross to his manager, got what he paid for matches against flat foot boxers who stood in front of him.

  • yeah yeah, ezzard charles was flat footed to, u really are a fool PUGCAT......nobody pay attention to this fuktard he has commented on almost every on every marciano vid for a year maybe more, totall troll with nothing better to do.

ALI ASS LICKER, u would have been the first to jump off the TITANIC when it was going down or pretented to be a woman for a life-boat.......all us marciano fans would have went down with the ship like gentlemen.......ppl dont believe the ali hype.

  • yeah yeah, ezzard charles was flat footed to, u really are a fool PUGCAT......nobody pay attention to this fuktard he has commented on almost every on every marciano vid for a year maybe more, totall troll with nothing better to do.

  • Rocky Marciano, the best.

  • Randy Turpin at 163 lbs. knocked out Don Cockell with a two punch combination, when Cockell was at the light heavyweight limit. Cockell didn't have the best chin ever, Marciano had lost his one punch KO ability late in his career, was hacking away at this point.

  • yeah yeah, ezzard charles was flat footed to, u really are a fool PUGCAT....nobody pay attention to this fuktard he has commented on almost every on every marciano vid for a year maybe more, totall troll with nothing better to do

  • Terrible mismatch on paper. Cockell was just an overweight middleweight. Marciano should have had him out of there much earlier.

  • The referee was a very kind man ha ha ha ha

  • cockell looked very slow, and open.wow he sure took a flogging,i cant believe he went that long, that slow.

  • both of you are morons ali&rocky were both great

and they both beat the best of their era

both of you need to shut up cause both of you look very stupid

  • Marciano didn't just take punches and keep going as it may at first seem, he could take hits, but he also had an uncanny dodging ability, and if you look closely at many of his fights you can see him slipping out of an oncoming punch at the last second many times.

  • Renato Tontini il pugile di Lucifero Pipero Panaccione aveva battuto cockell a londra per ko alla seconda ripresa...ma il conteggio dell'arbitro fu troppo lento...Grande Renato e Grande Pipero!

  • Marciano, who made only one more defence before retiring undefeated, said after the fight: "He's got a lot of guts. I don't think I ever hit anyone else any more often or harder."

  • Comment removed

  • PUGCAT's head = 45 lbs. of FAT

  • Cockell = middle weight + 45 lbs. of FAT

  • Marciano - The greatest of ALLL TIMMMEEEEEE!!!

  • "What power, what will to win!" dem der fat middleweight is tough!

  • their not middleweights...their heavyweights.

  • If Ali fought the tomato cans Rock fought Ali would never hear the end of it from critics.,No one can question Ali's opponents. But Rocks opponents are very questionable, Tomato can city.

  • You're the Tomato Can

  • What prime boxing great over 200 did Rock ever beat? Cockell? LOL! Ali had Foreman 225 pounds 6'4 40-0 38 kos 24 years old.Rock had Walcott? 38 and at end of career>?

  • what other top ten heavyweight champion has more tomato cans on resume?Rock has nearly 40 tomato cans on resume.

  • If you don't think Rock padded his record take a look at his opponents. To many tomato cans to list. Ali won title with just 19 fights. Rock fought tomaton cans well past his 19th fight. Rock was still fighting tomato cans at 38 and 0?Frazier creams Rock and his tomato can opponents.Rock never beats Ali or Foreman.

  • No Heavyweight champion padded their record like the Rock did. Take a look at his opponents.Mostly all had 500 records or below and most of his top tier opponents were all in their 30's or late thirties. Rock is the most overrated heavyweight champion of all time.Tyson,Ali,Frazier , Foreman, Wlad,Vitali,Page,Holmes and a host of others go unbeaten against his mostly used up opponents.

  • After Rocks controversal win over Lastarza Rock had a steady diet of tomato cans. He was one of the most protected fighters in championship history. Just look at the opponents after first Lastarza fight.

  • LOL, Cockell was beaten stopped by middles .Most of Rocks opponents were beaten at lower weights before fighting him. Cockell, Charles,Savold,Moore and a host of others were all beaten at middle.

  • My grandad told me that in an interview don cockell said he was in "tip top condition" for the fight and hoped "the best man won" to which rocky replied " i'll moider da bum" lol

  • Don Cockell was a fat middleweight, he was even down 10 lbs. from his usual weight of 215! "What power, what will to win!" Yeah, what ever! What does battering a little fat guy prove?

  • And marciano fouled him all the way through

  • Don Nothing

  • Raypfp. When Patterson fought clay for the last time he was in fact 37.

  • Being British I have never been ashamed to watch Joe Bugner, Henry Cooper or even Frank Bruno having ago at the World Heavy Weight title, but Don cockell even makes Richard Dunn look good. Having said that his heart & chin is very good, similar to when Bugner got up at a count of 3 after being hit full on by Earnie's Shavers best uppercut.

  • Only difference is Bugner was a natural heavy . Unlike Cockell who was a natural middle.,Bugner , Cooper , certainly Bruno as well as Shavers were natural heavies.

  • i don't claim to be a boxer but if i knew i was gonna fight marciano i'd at least run around the block a few times and maybe do some sit ups

  • i but mayweather could outbox these "heavyweights"

  • Comment removed

  • The best defense is attack

I think u never boxing in real life

  • At this point of the fight Cockell was totally out of it. It was a miracle that he was even still standing

  • have u ever boxed before???

  • yes, i was kickboxing for short period of time and then switched to boxing, cause its more aethetically pleasing to me :))))

  • Study some more on the science of boxing then u need a lot of work.

  • Ali's second tier opponents would ko Rock. Rock was in there with mostly has beens. Guys who saw better days.

  • Hey Jew , what are you high are something fella? First off Tyson was 20 and Berbick was 31. Patterson was not 37 when he fought Rock, he was 30. And further more Tyson fighting Berbick who was 11 years older is a bad contrast. Tyson was the youngest champion ever and Ali and Patterson were the other youngest champs ever before Tyson. So anyone they fight is going t o be older. Rock won title at 28 so when he fights opponents 10 years older it's a big difference.

  • Hey Jew,I meant to say Patterson was only 30 when he faced Ali not 37, like you said.

  • Actually you are wrong he fought him twice, the second time he was 37

  • don was a solid guy, slow and fat but still very fit,a true english bulldog

  • Cockell had a diet of donuts and beer. He was a blown up middle/.

  • Madmax says~Marciano, who paid him the ultimate compliment: "The pluckiest I ever fought." I wonder what he'd say after he fought Foreman...likely not a lot.

  • hey newguy1122~ Ali never went to the ropes in his prime. All those fights with Frazier Norton and Foreman were all far past his prime.Just for your education Ali's prime was 66 67 and of course we are talking prime vs prime. Do u actually think Foreman and Marciano stood toe to toe that Marciano would win?!!! Get serious! Unbeatable? He took a beating from old shot guys to get the ko. Any number of 60 70's contenders beat him. Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Bruce Seldon. White guy?~ Jerry Quarry.

  • bruce seldon fought in the 90's not the 60s or 70s and every champion in the history of boxing got to the top fighting older fighters, why do you think rocky was the only one who did? tyson at 20 beat burbic at 34 ali in his early 20s fought patterson at 37, atleast walcot was only 10 years older than the rock, look at all the champs of the past and look at key fights and age differences, always a diffence so dont single out rocky, ezzard charles was only a year older than rocky.

  • and started his pro career 9 years earlier than Marciano. Also I do believe he strated as a welter?

  • on Bruce Seldon...I was kidding,

  • THIS DUDE DIDN'T EVEN FIGHT BACK!

  • que paliza colega, mas que don cockel es don mierda

  • woulda coulda shut da fuck up already ... marciano did what he had to do to win fuck you critics

  • Its hard to be a critics when he had a perfect 49-0 record.

  • Cockell had been a superb Light heavy but as said earlier suffered from a thyroid condition which made him balloon up. By all accounts at light heavy before his condition he was superb (the loss to Turpin was when he started suffereing and couldnt make weight. Despite being a small fat heavy he beat top American heavyweights Roland La Starza ,Harry Matthews (3 times) and had a 1 roundko win over the dangerous Loyd Marshall . My respect for Marciano has grown as I have read more on the man ,

  • I thought he trained on donuts and beer so thanks for clearing p why he looked like Lou Costello in there.

  • Re: Cockell, he was an enormously courageous man, as evidenced from the footage. he was still looking to land punches even when taking haymakers. He had a thyroid condition which caused him to baloon in weight; I believe he was an outstanding middleweight prospect before. He was always onto a hiding for nothing against Marciano, who paid him the ultimate compliment: "The pluckiest I ever fought."

  • god damn, his right hand looks like a sledgehammer

  • Marciano is the very symbol and metaphor of the unstoppable force. Never has the ring seen such unrelenting, singleminded will to win. He didn't give his opponents the chance to settle in and fight their fight, one more reason why he was unbeaten and probably unbeatable. An unrepeatable one-off in the history of sport - any sport.

  • The only way Ali would win, is if he could take Marciano out fast. Ali wouldn't be able to do that. You see, Marciano was a true Italian, and he had that Italian heart that only Italians have (i'm really not being biased). Ali's punches wouldn't phase Marciano that much, and his strategy just wouldn't go far in the ring with Marciano. If Ali let himself get hit by Marciano; he would be devestated. It would be a great fight, but Marciano's endurance and increasing power over time is too much.

  • Marciano would have never seen anything even as remotely as fast as Ali, and he often took over ten rounds to catch up with those slower fighters he faced. Ali has seen Marciano level power before and more.

  • But Ali has never seen Marciano's level of endurance. Marciano didn't get weaker throughout the fight, he got stronger. His hits were even more powerful 7-8 rounds into the fight. Ali would depend on tiring out his oppopnent, that wouldn't work with Marciano. I'm not going to argue with you when there are statistics out there that were computer generated. These are very accurate equations that determined that Marciano would win. Which he would. How Marciano fights have you watched? Not many...

  • Statistics that were computer-generated? Well, I'm convinced! Seriously, you need a reality check. Grbage in, garbage out: I bet the data was fed in by "proud Italians". So Marciano would beat Ali? Like Liston and Foreman, eh? Because Ali is basically a non-punching Runner who once he gets tired it's all over? If he found a way to beat the two fighters above, he'd finda way to beat Marciano, who wasn't as formidable and brought the same thing to the table every time, great though it was.

  • Speed doesn't mean everything in a fight.

After few rounds I'm sure that Ali would get tired enough from running away, letting Marciano get close enough to land some hard punches to the body and little by little took Ali's food work and speed away.

  • @1ProudItalian1 Lol, so only italians have heart?? Get a life man...

  • @prayforme111 No but a lot of the Italian American boxers did.

  • as does Foreman ..prime Joe Louis...Ali...Liston...Although a all time great in Floyd, Marciano MIGHT ko Paterson. I've been watching a lot of Floyd recently. Although a superb boxer. I just don't think Paterson was strong enough to keep Marciano off. Imput welcome.

  • A prime Ali doesn't get touched. Tko on cuts in the middle rounds, Ali stops Marciano.

  • Just being real, Ali probably would have killed Marciano bc he had to much speed, agility, better footwork and longer reach than Rocky! Honestly Joe Frazier could destroy Marciano....

  • I don't know. It's hard to say. The problem with Marciano is that 1.His chin was enormous.2.He got better/stronger as the fight wore on.3.His punches hurt anywhere he hit'ya, arms,back,shoulders...The problems with Ali 1.Grew tired and looked pedestrian past 8-9 rnds.2.Did'nt hit that hard.3.Was prone to the body. Ali would have to stop Marciano out before 10th to win this fight.I would think that this fight would end in a cut above Marciano's right eye, but Marciano would be coming on strong.

  • apologies but I must take issue with the second point 2 as I just watch Ali dance around Sonny Liston and then knock him out with one jab!

  • marciano would beat ali no question its motivation and strength that wins a match, and marciano had that over ali

  • maybe, we'll never really know. The real problem for The Rock in fighting Ali is that Marciano cut easily. Ali would definitely cut Marciano, no doubts. If the fight went over 10 rounds without a stoppage, Ali would be in serious trouble; Marciano NEVER tired. Either bums or world champions it never mattered, ya got the same Marciano... as long as there was human flesh in front of him.

  • I agree completely. The question I ponder is could Rocky take the fight to the ropes and not the center of the ring where Ali would dominate? Ali's rope-a-dope would have had disastrous consequences as Rocky would pound away more effectively than anyone Ali fought. Ali was a smart enough fighter however to abandon it. Ali couldn't knock Rocky out I think, but I can easily see the fight stopped by Ali's jabs cutting Marciano badly. Yes, a long fight favors Marciano as Ali tired in later rounds.

  • ali didnt tire that much in his prime. later he did yes. and rocky couldn't knock out ali. no one did. for me ali would crush him, to big to fast, to slick. im talking pre exile ali.

  • Comment removed

  • HOW COULD ALI AS what you day he is great be defeated by JOE FRAISIER 3 times? ALI is a BUM... YOu hate ROCKY because he is ITALIAN right? YOU ARE RACIST! YOU SIMPLY DISCREDIT THE GUY BEcause he is ITALIAN and you are nothing but a FUCKING CUNT! RACIST MOLINYANA!!!!!!!

  • You are a very STUPiD individual arent you?im sure people tell you that all the time

  • er... ali beat joe twice. clown. no i hate rocky becuz he's a myth, beat bums or old men.

  • actually Marciano beat the best around in that era..... so he wasnt a myth at all.

In the words of Cus D' Amato - "All a fighter can do is beat who is around at that time".

  • "the best" as you say were old when he foguth them.. also he avoided 1 man like the black death nino valdez (not sure of the spelling)

  • Bullshit Wanderlei...I see you are over here on THIS video talking shit and perpetuating myths too...He DIDN'T beat the best around in his era cuz he didn't even FIGHT the best...no fights against Eddie Machen, Clevelenad Williams, Bob Satterfield, or Sonny Liston. Rocky was a myth. NOT cuz he was Italian. Nino Benvenuti was a great middleweight champ who fought the best in his divivision and he gets credit and he is Italian. If Marciano had beat any of the aforementioned I'd give him props

  • @WanderleiSilva29

    Sonny Liston.

  • Ali a bum? Yes emsing2001 you are very stupid.

  • Depends, if Ali could keep on his toes and jab jab jab, he could probably rip Marciano's face to bits, of course he would have to avoid having his head taken clean off by those big hooks.

Also Ali showed a hell of a lot more bravery than you give him credit for, he fought 12 rounds against Ken Norton and I think for 11 of them he had a broken jaw. Most fighters would have said "bugger this, my jaw is broken" and quit on their stool

  • GOOD COMMENT.

  • @HugoRune1976 It has always been said that, if Ali could keep him at arms length, he could have beat Marciano, because he would have peppered Rocky, who had little in the way of defense. However, if Marciano could get inside and work the body like he normally did, he could have beat Ali, and early.

  • @HugoRune1976 He didn't fight 11 with a broken jaw they just said that to put a positive spin on the loss.

  • @Spritelover7

Umm how would Roky beat Ali? are you one of those people that imagine that Rocky hit as hard as Joe Frazier, or anywhere near as hard as George Foreman? He couldn't even knock out freaking Roland la Starza and he's going to Ko Ali?

and I know you don't think he is going to outpoint Ali.

Ali outboxes him on the outside and easily holds the little amn when he comes in

    Ali by unanimous decision.

  • @Aphoresis because the rock gets stronger as the rounds go on and likes to punish guys who lean on the ropes wich ali often does, but only one way to know for sure so i can't say.

  • @Spritelover7 Marciano did beet Ali on the "Super Fight"

  • @Spritelover7 You sir do not know shit about boxing. Your comment is an epic fail!

  • @Spritelover7 WHAT A STUPID TESTAMENT LMAO

  • @Spritelover7 -have to disagree w/ u on this. Rocky would give an incredible effort, but Ali would be too fast, too large (30 lb wieght differential, not to mention height and huge reach advantage). And remember---ali could take a punch as well as any champion. Ali by a TKO, fight would be stopped due to cuts.

  • @Spritelover7 yh i agree marciano too powerful

  • @Spritelover7 i think ali would out point/box him. but marciano is great. so much heart an will.

  • @Spritelover7 ali had motivation and willpower in spades. He would kick marcianos ass.

  • look at ali and george foreman, ali stopped dancing cause he got tired. thats why he did the rope a dope.

  • Comment removed

  • haha he looked like a hilbilly. Did not have a clue he was still supposed to be fighting at the end. Ali would of wiped the floor with his slow motion punches

  • probably the most nonthreatening opponent Marciano ever had to fight, yet he gave it his best every inch all the way(using his same technique and style), the same with every other boxer he had ever fought...

  • I know,Don had balls. After the fight, Marciano said, "He's got a lot of guts. I don't think I ever hit anyone else any more often or harder" and Don lasted 9 rounds

  • was that the most any one has ever lasted with him?

  • Ezzard Charles went 15 rounds. The only boxer to go more than 13 with the Rock

  • the rule is until the ref steps in, you go crazy on his ass...hell the rock probibly wasent even thinking cause he throws so meny punches.

  • Cockell reminds me of Randall "Tex" Cobb. Not a good fighter but could take one hell of a beating.

  • nilezll until the ref breaks them up you go Gorillaz on his ass. out of all champs rocky had the most sportsman ship

  • No, I think I'm watching a boxing match, with RULES. Marciano was known to fight as dirty as hell. Search "Frazier Vs. Bugner. Bugner gets hurt with a punch, and ends up holding the ropes with his legs crossed at an awkward angle. Frazier, knowing that Bugner will fall, deliberately holds off. Anyone accuse Frazier of being a sissy?

  • he might have been as dirty as hell but that got him nowhere right? ha

  • lack of sportsmanship at 1:00, Cockell is CLEARLY down, but marciano hits him anyway.

  • lol@sportsmanship. You think you're watching a tennis match?

  • bahaha right on

  • Sick in his corner? who has not been i boxed and i was sick many times but retired undefeated,

  • The STUMP of Stump-noshki

    S-uper tough

    T-remendous punch

    U-nyielding

  • Cockell did well But up against the best boxer ever? and i am English. Marciano the best ever and still to this day no one has come close to his record ! God bless you Rocky>

  • his punching was brutal ...i think that set him apart

  • DUMB IDIOTIC MUSIC.

  • Marciano was ring rusty here and took more time than usual to get going. Cockell was being sick in his corner between rounds from the punishment he was absorbing.

  • Is that true that cockell was sick between rounds?

  • "Is that true that cockell was sick between rounds?"

Sure. It's well documented. Holmes was also sick at the end of one of his fights after taking bad body blows. I can also tell you that Rock was approached by the mob to throw this fight since there were high odds in Roock's favour, but Rock refused and told them they should be ashamed of themselves as Italians. This from Rock's daughter. After the fight the same men came back to Rock and expressed their esteem.

  • interesting video, different music for a classic boxing match. Isn't that a Beck tune, what's the name of the track! He does some of the sickest lyrics around coupled with some of the coolest beats and instrumentals I think ever recorded. I could see more vids like this.
