I don't know about that. I don't think Dane Cook is a "special flavor not all will enjoy." There are plenty of comedians I can say that about, like Steven Wright. I think Wright is talented, I just don't care for deadpan style. Dane Cook, however, has no talent, in my opinion. I actually feel like I'm being talked to like I'm stupid when hearing his voice. Shelby's comment, "the Nickelback of comedy" is a good description, except that could also apply to Carlos Mencia, who also has no talent.
