cant really see it in this video but one of the reasons why its upside down is because it actually reverses the angle of the last pickup. hendrix played like that and on paul gilbert's reverse iceman he has his pickups reversed in the same way
the strings are actually as if he were playing a right handed guitar since the thicker strings are on top ...except its on a left handed guitar which is..weird o_O
i thing its the way he picks he is probably feels it is more comfortable with the buttons and knobs closer to him... which is the only advantage with that
umm... the knobs aren't closer to him. the knobs and pick up switch would be a lot closer if he played it normally. they would be just out of reach of his pinky finger. it's not the way he picks, if you look at his right hand technique on his other videos, his right hand sits pretty close to the bridge.
my best guess is he was given the guitar or he got it for very cheap. just so happens it was left handed
