@UnDe4dB4stard you are talking about K102/K105 versions, which are both available to law enforcement units only. K100 is a regular SA/DA pistol with no burst fire.

I don't know about hand pistol, its lethal for <50 yrds if your practices shooting it. I still prefer assaults rifle or carbine for self defense. but thats IMO.

so where should I start?.....unique/patented barrel locking mechanism? price (<500eur)? durability(50 000 manufacturers warranty and documented 100 000 with any single part change)? variability? can eat almost any ammo (incl. shitty, home made ones)? ... IMHO price/value ratio beats Glock easily

@AfroSchmuck US market name is GP6 for full size, and GP5 for a shorter version. STI international is selling them in US. But be aware that You will be disappointed if You are a .45 fan, (like many US guys lol) since GPs are for now available in 9x19 only.

the beretta Cougar and Stoeger (now in production) Cougar 8000.8040/8045 use a rotating barrel as well as the px4 storm.

i heard bad things about the storm but good things about the Cougar. I read the stoeger version, has a slightly worse finishing on the outside.

A stoeger cougar costs around 350 (us dollars), previously $697 under the beretta name. I am apparently searching for my first handgun.

The Stoeger is made using the actual Beretta machinery. I just bought one yesterday in 9mm. I love the feel and can't wait to shoot it.

There was a used 9mm Beretta Cougar in the store too. It was $200 more than the new Stoeger. You are correct that the finish was not as nice as the Beretta, but that's the only difference I could see or feel.

its a very simple firearm and reliable i am glad we are going back in time in terms of reliability and simplicity because at end of the day we use these to protect our homes and you cant afford it to jam when you need it

There is nothing special that I can see about this firearm. It has a Unique takedown involving the trigger guard, but that doesn't make it "amazing". Also, I don't know of any police departments issuing this firearm in the United States. Certainly not any departments near my gun store.
