@jakemillermusic Seriously, if you wouldn't mind, either grow up, or move on. This channel is directed towards professionals, or those that are really serious about this trade. It's not a joke, and it's not for children. There's really no reason to behave that way here.
@soundpurestudios I can watch people speak in the street - you have a 10 minute video describing and discussing a unit made to be heard. A brief explanation on a product is to be expected (and appreciated) but 9 minutes of talking with 30 seconds of audio seems fairly redundant to me in said context.
@jakemillermusic Back again? You've made your point... for those that are contemplating spending $20k, hearing the back-story about this gorgeous piece of equipment is valuable. It's clearly not for you (guessing you probably aren't in the market), so if you would, move on to something more productive so that we can too. We keep one on demo at all times in our facility, and will even process our clients individual content so that they can hear what it can do. Hearing it is not a problem.
@bkpoltina Your are abosolutely welcome. If we can help answer any questions that you might have about the ADL 670, any of Anthony's other gear, or really high end gear in general, please let us know!
why in the fuck the price has to be that high for one of these things? The original 670's value reigns from the fact that it is really an antique but the ADL is brand new and still cost too much.
@ColdGripHandle It's just the fact that these can't be recreated from off the shelf parts... every single thing in here is custom, and the amount of hand-work in creating one is staggering. Also, it uses all-original, extremely hard to get tube sets... basically for all of those reasons. And, in the ways that it differs from the original, it is an obvious improvement (primarily the power supply). Given that we bought one, we think that they are worth it!
@ColdGripHandle Yeah, that's just it, Anthony actually told all of us at Sound Pure about the entire process- literally testing transformer-after-transformer one-at-a-time, for years before he got a full suite of components that was spot-on. I can tell you, ours is truly magical, and we understand why people say that the Original Fairchild might be the best piece of audio signal processing equipment ever created.
@MarkyGoldstein Thanks for the comment, it's on the list of releases at some point in the not too distant future, stay tuned. When Anthony came to deliver ours, we hadn't even racked it in when we were able to shoot this interview with him.
The only problem with improving the power supply, is that that starving the tubes was part of the old sound, which could be either a good or bad thing sound wise. It would be interesting to hear the test with a new power supply on an older unit.
@kentwidman Without name dropping, some monster producers have replaced the power supply in their original Fairchilds with the ADL PSU, without changing anything in their original unit. It ever so slight improves the noise floor without changing the character or tone and does one really important thing- it prolongs the life of the tubes, and allows them a MUCH faster rise up time. 30 minutes instead of a day. I think it's more to do with heater voltage than voltages affecting the audio signal
@REDHOODTV That is actually something that we hope to get together at some point, but it will require an original unit to be here in reasonable working order which is harder than you might imagine!
@mikante Our pleasure! Given that this one lives in our studio, if you have any additional questions/interest about the ADL670, just let us know! We use ours just about every day.
You guys know what youre talking about, keep doing what youre doing and fuck the haters!

@soundpurestudios Well when you think about it that is extremely tough. To recreate each part from this far out in time. I see
