It was also recalled for the catalytic converter. I don't know which was worse, that or the 1995 Chevy Corsica I had. Both were complete garbage.

My point is this...when you buy a Honda Accord you support your local plant. Great. But this purchase negatively effects the growth of a US headquartered company. If that company (GM) falls into trouble, the government helps them by using your tax $. If you had bought from GM in the first place your tax $ could be used elsewhere...or your tax rate decreases. Think about where your $ actually goes in the end and if you still choose Honda then you can see why our country is headed for demise.

My Accord has more American parts (70%) than Suburbans and Camaros about 65%. Camaros are made in Canada with about 25% Mexican parts. Ford had the biggest recall in automotive history when thier ignition switches caught cars on fire, with the cars not even running, about 14 years ago.

Chevy is really American. Yeah right! Impala, Camaro, and Equinox are made in Canada. Aveo is made in South Korea and Russia. HHR, Avalanche, and some Suburbans are made in Mexico. Some Colorados are made in Thailand. Chevrolet is not even an American word. It's French. Chevrolet and Durant, both founders of Chevy, were from France. You don't even know Chevy's history.

Arlington assembly in Arlington , TX, The Colorado's that are made in Thailand also aren't produced for the american market, The Aveo is not even a Chevy it is a rebadged Daewoo that they sell in the middle east. It is a law that American/Canadian and major source of foreign parts content, final assembley point, and country of origin of engine and transmission be listed on the window sticker. Suburbans and Camaros have a lot of Mexican parts. Camaros are made in Canada. '93-'02 Camaros were made in Canada also.

I have an accord to! God damn bullet proof those engines are. You just beat the shit out of em and they still run. I have never been left on the side of the road with a Honda. Not ONCE! And those pilots have a shit load of interior space to. I loaded quite a few larger objects into them the other day. Fit with plenty of room to spare. I also know someone who made a video about the traverse, he didn't like it; said it was mediocre with suspension and handling and didn't return good MPG.

My point is this...without the Big 3, Honda and Toyota lose their suppliers in the US. Easy access to those suppliers is the only reason they came here in the first place. With an existing infrastructure it was easy for them to set up shop in a few small towns and grow their economies. That doesn't even make sense. The EPA rated both and the Chevy gets better mileage(by 1 MPG more) while being larger. The Chevy also uses a more advanced engine than the one in the Pilot so that explains the fuel economy.
