....i live in vegas. and to contrary belief the entire population of las vegas is not bent on gambling away money or clubbing all the time. most of the crazy people seen on the strip drinking, partying, and gambling are tourist. we have a limited amount of natural resources so entertainment is our main source of income. not all vegas sucks. and vegas is not limited to the strip or downtown. i hate when people talk trash about my city. :(

totally agree, las vegas is a repulsive place. most annoying: it's whole theme is artifice and excess. you run out of ways to say 'big' (it can take 20 minutes to traverse the "entrance" to some hotels) and while most buildings are striking, nobody seems terribly awed by them, or by anything else. things to do: gamble (zzz) or watch tired whitebread entertainers. traffic is a joke, and the few trams that operate there run between related hotels and get only light use. vegas: spanish for 'wrong'.
