why don't you shoot vallejo matt varn ish or satin through your brush i have never had one problem in varnishing hundreds of mini's doing it that way mate. those rattle can varnishes are scary.
The min looks stunning the base needs some work though kidding just kidding :)
Wow such lovely results mate. From what I've seen doing lava and magma turns out to be way harder than you imagine it should be. This looks really really great! Bummer about the varnish, get some testors dullcoat!
You have to abandon the the GW varnish. I switched over to Liqutex matt varnish in my airbrush a year ago and no problems since. Also far less costly.

It could be a little risky.... try this tip on an other piece painted the same way and colors with the GW product... then go over the test model with a matt varnish spray. we do this at work on wood trim if the wood is to shiny. then mask off say the sword or back of the leg the hand only and if it doesnt look right then you will only have to fix one thing on it. like when you buy carpet cleaner or some thing and they say test first.
Love the touch of the bloody hand.
Tell me about it with the purity seal. I hate the stuff. It has ruined so many pieces on me.
