  • Who the hell writes up the descriptions for BBC's vids? It's Ornithocheirus, it wasn't a dinosaur, and it wasn't even the largest pterosaur.

  • Time for a new series of dinosaurs. It's 10 years since the first batch were produced. More dinos, more episodes, longer episodes, better CGI, better stories, in glorious HD and more evolution sequences! Brilliant!

  • Awesome series. Nice video.

  • I hate to break this to you, but pterosaurs aren't dinosaurs. The birds that they show around 0;34 are, but pterosaurs are not.

  • he travelled 14 000km just to get laid...now thats true dedication

  • mhuahaha, this were the first versions of the angry birds !

  • Open the door, get on the floor! Everybody walk the dinosaur!

  • blah blah blah i just want to see a dinosaur fight

  • i thoght the ornithosaurus was going to be atacked

  • The main theme of this series is so awesome. I remember watching this as a kid once a day at least on my VHS :')

  • @Enraged10 I did that too! :) But now it's broken :(

  • @Afterschave I should put it on DVD before mine breaks down.

  • @Enraged10 Me too an i really want to watch it again :'(

  • Science Meridith, SCIENCE!!!

  • I wonder what human tastes like to a T. Rex? Do specific foods for predators taste good or do they just taste to sate themselves?

  • Those raptors had feathers too. Maybe some of them lurked up trees like a leopard & that's what started them flying.

  • Brits gotta rip of Steven Spielberg.

  • Why do people on both sides insisting that God & science are seperate?

And on the 7th day, God rested. We are still in the 7th day, no doubt those first 6 days were millions of years. So yes, God created these guys too!

  • So funny, some of these comments are either from very small children, educational subnormal adults or people who are seriously into the Genesis Flood Theory whom continually hijack these message boards.

I am not of the above... I am So lucky.

Fantastic reconstruction, very interesting and thought provoking even if there evidence is sometimes patchy, it opens up the imagination to the mesozoic period.

  • "In the far future the terosaurs will surrender the skies to the birds"

    Dun-dun-dunn

    ..Cue intense Music!

  • Ornithosaurus? Please shoot me.

    It's OrnithoCHEIRUS.

  • It's supremely ironic that people who are so dismissive of science post their comments here using computers, hooked up to the internet, and powered by generators such as atomic power stations...

    All products of science.

    Heh heh heh...

  • Modern animals aren't boring if you look at them properly! What about a duck-billed platypus? They're pretty bloody cool if you ask me.

  • lol that ornithacirus must be like, ah!Damn birds!

  • Stupid assumptions

  • the music in this series is so great.

  • and how would scientist know all this ....where is the evidence.

  • @JOSUE1987 Fossils... duh.

  • @KateFan their lifestyle,stupid.

  • @JOSUE1987 You haven't looked into this much, have you? The fact that you've asked the question shows you don't know and don't really want to know, you just want to defend ignorance in the face of investigation, and defend your ignorance on the basis that you believe it, so it must be right.

I believe everybody should ride motorcycles. Doesn't mean I'm right, but I believe it. I believe that speed limits should not apply to bikes. I believe that right-of-way should always belong to bikes.

  • @JOSUE1987 If you keep looking in your ass you might find it, although I doubt it very much.

  • @JOSUE1987 there not scientists

  • @JOSUE1987 fossils....are you really that stupid

  • @zacher51 He's asking about the details of the animals' lifestyles. Not about whether or not these animals ever existed.

  • this will refelct on the future: the piegons will surrender the skies to fies to bugs

  • i want to go back in time bring a red and white spherical ball turn my baseball cap sideways and say "Gotta Catch Em' All!"...

and then get bit by a T-Rex....

  • Remember watching that as a little kid with big wide eyes

Thinking that all birds are assholes ( i don't like crows)

Ps. I adore BBC for making all these documentries

don't get them much on US tv

  • Ornithchirus is so cool!

  • Dude it's Ornithocheirus not Ornithosaurus

  • Whenever I think of "Walking with Dinosaurs', I think of this music first 1:48

  • Today's science is running into same problems as middle-age religion - it has become too closed to any facts that are not corresponding with dogma, which is able to turn theories into facts.

  • @Picard578 Clearly you're not a scientist.

  • @rlinfinity That's just fact. Read book "Forbidden history"; written by J. Douglas Kenyon.

  • @Picard578 I'm afraid you're quite deluded, old chap.

  • @rlinfinity just read that book and then we'll talk, OK?

  • @Picard578 I'd rather not waste my time reading that tripe. I have far more important things to read..... like your mom

  • cool video

  • he died

  • just uummm one thing...there were no flying dinosaures just retiles sooo yea :P

  • looks so life like

  • avatar's ikrans!

  • I keep wondering "Why are modern animals so boring?"

  • @ceafexftw

two words: horned lizards. look them up.

  • @ceafexftw If a tiger got hold of you, you wouldn't think modern animals were boring.

  • @ceafexftw its not boring your making god sad he make those animals

  • @ceafexftw

The non-longer existant are always more interesting than the still existing

  • @ceafexftw

if we grew up and lived in their time period, we might think the mammals are interesting lol

  • @ceafexftw modern animals are not boring, in my humble opinion. they are just as unique, sadly though just not as big.

  • @ceafexftw there aint boring all dino's are the animals today

so dont say there boring :)

becaus everything you see here in the movie are like birds and stuff like that

  • @Redje88 yhgfhg

  • @ceafexftw Because we know more about them, than about prehistoric ones, so we think of them as boring, when in fact, they're just as spectacular in their own way.

    :D

  • @ceafexftw Well we can have boring animals or we can have coll ones that kill us all the time :)

  • @ceafexftw I keep wondering, why don't people visit the exotic parts of the Earth before they conclude on it?

  • @ceafexftw In about a couple of milleniums,(if people still exist) people will view our beasts as we view the prehistoric beasts. So enjoy what you have before it's too late :) There are still magnificent creatures TODAY.

  • @ceafexftw CAAAAAAATS

  • @ceafexftw Girraffs are quite cool, as are blue whales.

  • @ceafexftw ya well we're used to seeing birds, and lions and tigers and bears all the time, so they dont really amaze us. These are exotic animals that we've never seen before and never will.

  • @ceafexftw they are not boring you just think they are.

  • Comment removed

  • just snap at them! they are snapping at u. tell them to get ur fat ass off my landing spot!

  • I love this series! :D

  • i want the following parts

  • They looked at how a chicken walked and compared the steps to that of a Tyrannosaurus Rex, they where virtually the same. Same head movements too.

  • I have this on VHS! woo woo

  • I have this on DVD:D

  • no fair ...

i was stuck with the VHS .. u cant blame me lulz

  • Pterrordactyls are pterrifying!

  • 8imonn you suck :D idiot.

  • Guess you haven't discovered museums yet. Maybe writings about people otherwise unheard of are 'well fake' .

  • wat

  • what a jesus freak i bet you have sezures over him lol

  • science is dying?? lmao.

religion is dying my silly little friend

  • @ashley92wales Majority of the people in this world still belive in some type of religion. Figured i would point that out to you, but dont worry im not trying, nor will i get into, a religious debate with you :). I enjoyed this series, I remember watching this one on t.v., I was sad when the ornithosauras died haha.

  • @ashley92wales Science is a religion my sanctimonious little friend.

  • @QRF11B No it isn't. Science is based on truth and reason.

  • @turreu Science never claims absolute but tentative truths, even in its most basic laws-for example, the principles of conservation of matter, energy, and more recently, energy-matter. Science, too, goes wrong when it claims itself as the only perspective for getting at truth.

Every theory finds itself immersed in experimental techniques, burdened by a catalogue of prior observations, established dogmas, and other theories, none of them immune to the prejudices of the times.

  • @QRF11B Well at least science has tentative truths and isn't based on faith, ignorance, stupidity or hypocrisy. Science is based upon verifiable evidence. Religious faith lacks evidence. Therefore science isn't a religion.

  • @turreu Science is based upon verifiable evidence" is a specious claim and drenched in perspectivism and the only thing that quantifies as "stupid" is your remedial arguments and half-baked sophistry. Despite the intrinsic safeguards, science can find itself as much inn danger of dogmatism and absolutism as any other discipline. Even "revolutionary" science depends on anomalies and incongruities in existing science.

  • @QRF11B

im not even going to debate such a idiotic reply, one word sums up the difference - proof

  • @ashley92wales Proof? Have you even bothered to read any of my posts? Judging by your paltry response and juvenile language I'd say you did not. Though more than likely you just didn't have the moxie to formulate an intelligent response and all you could muster was: "one word sums up the difference-proof." Weak.

  • @QRF11B To be perfectly honest I just don't want to get into a detailed debate about science and religion on youtube. Your either new to the descussion internets or have too much time on your hands because this exact same topic is argued everyday on thousands of videos and threads and it NEVER makes any difference. I know i'm breaking rule 1 but if you want to discuss science vs religion post it on /b/ at 4chan.

Btw PERPOSELY using bigger words doesn't help. Religion doesn't belong on the net

  • @ashley92wales First of all I sorry if you feel uncomfortable and threatened by an adults vocabulary. Secondly, I'm not arrogant enough to dictate to others on what ideas should or should not be articulated on the internet. It seems you the basis of your entire statement is void of any substance and unashamedly drenched in polemics and half-baked sophistry.

  • @ashley92wales Btw, it's spelled "purposely" not "perposely." Perhaps when you demonstrate a modicum of competency in remedial grammar then perhaps we could engage in a reasonable discussion; minus your sanctimonious attitude, polemics and muddled logic.

Now I know why you didn't wish to engage me in a "detailed debate" as you phrased it, because you know the drubbing you'll take. Indeed, anticipation of death is worse than death itself. Peace.

  • @QRF11B Well considering you have 'adult vocabulary' you may want to aquire some 'mature attitude' to go with it. Pointing out a TYPO is pretty low by anyones standards. If you were as half as intelligent as you try to project you would not be arguing about religion on a youtube video. Now please, keep your outdated, criminal and somewhat cruel religious beliefs to yourself. BTW please post your religious beliefs and whether or not you believe the statment 'dinosaurs existed before man'.

  • @ashley92wales "...you would not be arguing about religion on a youtube video." Again, you continue to make statements out of abject stupidity. I never once interjected a preference for religion; I merely pointed out the inherent dangers of scientism and those who view science as a 'closed book.'

Furthermore, your bumbling of the English language was highlighted because it delineates your gross incompetence and the frailty of your reasoning.

  • @QRF11B Wow you must be the most retarded person on the internet. "Scientism", are you serious? Please go read up on "Scientific method" or go die in a hole. There is no thing such as "scientism", only your failed attempt at making something that HAS to be objectively prooved seem like it is worse, or on par with your religious agenda. Being grammar nazi isn't going to get you anywere though. Also, you are a horrible debater if you think attacking the person is a valid argument.

  • @lagemegnorsk Where do I start with a prat like you? First, "nazi" is capitalized. Secondly, being a student of the English language has taken me to many exciting places around the globe pays quite handsomely. Thirdly, you haven't stated anything of any relevance other than you appear to be another unhinged crackpot who's totally divorced reality. Furthermore, if you think ad hominem attacks are not valid or lack any redeemable value then you will not like Plato or Nietzsche.

  • @QRF11B Unhonest debate tactic here, keep attacking the person instead of the argument. Grammar-nazi is a internet meme, it does not require capitalization. Now done with that.

I know perfectly well what the scientific method is, what is science, we have to see on as current truth, of course one can try and find new knowledge, does not mean that we have to see science as a lie. Science is the current truth and is subjective to change, hence why it is so developed. Science has also a lot of

  • @lagemegnorsk Furthermore, your statement "[U]nhonest debate tactic here, keep attacking the person instead of the argument," is quite an audacious statement coming from the person who told me to "die in a hole." That doesn't strike me as debating the facts.

Also, "Unhonest" is not a word. Maybe you were thinking of the word "dishonest"? And what does "we have to see on as current truth" mean exactly? Trying to decipher your garbled English requires a PhD in linguistic anthropology.

  • @QRF11B Hey, I was not the one to attack the person im debating in the start, you were, i merely pointed it out. You are the one calling science religion, something it just simply isn't by the general definition. What definition are you operating with?

  • @lagemegnorsk I never said science was a religion what I said was despite intrinsic safeguards science can become dogmatic. If science claims to be the only tool at obtaining truth then it too runs the risk of "absolutism." or scientism as it has been referred to in some intellectual circles.

And you're still caught up on your opinion that I attacked someone. If that's what you believed happened then that's what you believe. The implementation of the ad hominem attack was for a purpose.

  • @QRF11B Your exact saying was this: "Science is a religion my sanctimonious little friend."

Science is a method for aquiring knowledge, it simply cannot be a religion. That would be like saying building houses can be religion, but it isn't. Science with the scientific method never claims any absolute truth, it is ever developing, and thus becoming more true over time. This is were the difference is between science and religion, religions doesn't change, but stays the same, and therefore [..]

  • @QRF11B To operate with another definition.

  • @lagemegnorsk They are what you can call "Absolute". Of course new religions may occur, but that doesn't make it able to change. This is the main difference between science and religion. And within these branches you have different viewpoints (EG. different religions and different scientific viewpoints) But the point is that science changes as new evidence is found. Religion doesn't, and therefore science cannot be religion.

This is operating by my definition of course, and you are likely [..]

  • @lagemegnorsk You're essentially repeating what I previously stated: science doesn't state absolute but only tentative truths. But science is not the only perspective for obtaining truth. Furthermore, you're half baked analysis of theological trajectory is highly flawed and not conducive with theological nomenclature. But if you believe that science cannot become dogmatic then that's your opinion nothing more nothing less.

  • @QRF11B By my definition that is fact, but science and religion are only words. We do agree, but we have different definitions.

  • @lagemegnorsk If you're definition of religion is is the adherence of beliefs that not susceptible to change then such a definition would encompass scientific exploration. If science is constantly in flux, always becoming obsolete (or supposed to be) then it's characteristic of "change" is a constant variable.

  • @lagemegnorsk As far as your bringing up the "scientific method," then perhaps you'd like to discuss it further, though perhaps in a more erudite manner then what you're accustomed to. Science never claims absolute but only tentative truths, even its basic laws such as energy-matter and principles of conservation of matter. Science too can can wrong when it claims it is the only perspective for obtaining truth and can can become dogmatic, which is precisely what science isn't supposed to be.

  • @QRF11B fields, wich all can be studied, I do for example not question biologists who have taken a education in the field, however, I can ask them questions and since this is their field of study and are more likely to have an educated answer, they can work out the answer to my question better than what i ever have could.

  • @lagemegnorsk If you don't want to answer my statement or are unable to that's fine but don't try to pawn yourself off as an erudite scholar of the sciences. Judging by the quality and veracity of your statement it's obvious that you have no clue what you're talking about.

  • @lagemegnorsk Even in contemporary science every theory is immersed in experimental techniques further restrained and hindered by a litany of prior observations, established dogmas and other hypothetical theories and not one of them immune to the prejudices of the times. Despite the intrinsic safeguards scientific explorations can find itself in as much danger of of dogmatism and absolutism as any other discipline.

  • I feel sorry for you 8imonn, you've been so mislead and brainwashed.

Yeah, let's not find things out for ourselves, let's just mope around all day doing nothing muttering something about going to be with jebuz when we die.

    freaking idiot

    btw

    you use science daily

  • LOL

  • Do you mean carbon-14? If you do, carbon-14 has nothing to do with dating dino fossils. FYI.

  • @8imonn, "Coal-14", I had to laugh at that one (and the rest of your post, BTW). Science is dying? Are you insane? I rather think that it's wishful thinking on your part (or probably your level of ignorance) rather than fact. You should get out of your brainwashed community a little more, seriously. BEWARE though, outside that community is dangers unlike you've ever seen before! Devil worshippers like people who read Harry Potter books for instance! Thanks for the laugh though, keep'em coming!

  • @8imonn I lol'd

  • lol it would be funny if humans had mating grounds lol xD or what some people might call a porn studio :P

  • they do ;)

  • the closest thing to dinosaurs still alive are......birds.

Croco's and sharks lived in the period the dinosaurs did, but they have little to do with them, 'cept croco's are reptiles as well...

  • didnt the guy basically say birds are dinosaurs? or atleast they came directly from them

  • yeah, there is also a new theory about birds and dinos maybe just sharing same ancestor. A study from Oregon state University has questioned the Dino-bird link becouse of the breathing system of birds and becouse of the way te birds legs are constructed and how they walk. You can ead about at their webpage. However it is not 100 % sure, it is just a new option, and it has not fully proven the dino-bird linking wrong.

  • @ensittare

Dinosaurs have been discovered which have similar breathing system to birds.

  • And before someone says -"dinosaurs are just bones", a lot of valuable information on organ and muscle attachment can be gathered from just bones.

  • @dudev

Yes of course, However there are some researches who belivied the dino.bird theory was wrong.

However I´m sceptic towards this study, since it is much more likley that dinosaurs and birds are relatives. More proof points that way.

  • wtf that was terrible

he flies miles tries to land in the middle but can't because he's to tired and has to land somwhere else, well thankyou very fuckin much

  • dinosaurs were alive we have broof of the bone findings in the ground

  • found that very moving

  • Well done for figuring out there are no more dinosaurs.

  • i know it's fake. i put those comments out there for a laugh. obviously some people though i was being serious about dinosaurs being alive.

  • ITS NOT FAKE JAJAJAJJAJAAJ NOOB

  • And picking up heavy loads like humans. Picking up heavy loads would actually be impossible however though because they'd be too heavy for them to carry. And one more thing. Tomanyasses alligators are not Dinosaurs but they're just as wonderful and are relatives.

  • this is OrnithoCHEIRUS, not Ornithosaurus.

It is a Pterosaur, not a dinosaur.

This film made me have a LOT more respect for these beautiful creatures than before. Most hollywood movies show Pterosaurs as a flying nuisance trying to eat children.

  • nice video to bad dinosaures died out i bet they would be smart.

  • i bet if they didnt die out we would be the ones dead

  • i agree or we would be haveing hard time evolving.

  • Technically the dinosaurs never died out. Birds are a type of dinosaur. (If you disagree with me you don't have to say so and start an argument. this is a very controversial theory.)

  • Comment removed

  • alligators are in a completely different clade -_- they're reptiles, archosaurs, and that's it.

  • ok good thing you cleared that up

  • i know were mammals and tech is wrong it dpends on what you define what tech you use youull learn that when you get older tech changes slow butt half of what you learn in school is wrong and will be changed

  • i agree with you. you can see that the birds have hind legs, just like dinos. they're the same, in different times.

  • Not exactly the same, but evolutionary brothers

  • i own this dvd....its awesome

  • Lol i own the video of this i got it when it first came out. I think i need to upgrade them and get dvd's. it is very good. This isntn my favourie episode it always made me feel sad at the end.( i was only 8)

  • I really feel like I'm seeing living animals.

  • I remember they used the music from 1:53 in the commercial. They also used the footage of the sea monster and the T Rex roaring into the sunset.

  • An old animal, once the greatest of his kind, is now beaten by younger males. A sad way to show how you know you're past your prime.

  • I DUNNO LEATHERSHOT MABE HES SMART

  • because the program itself says so. whoever wrote the description made the error.

  • Brilliant

  • The description for this video is misleading. Ornithocheirus (not "Ornithosaurus") was not a dinosaur.

  • Oh shut up.

  • RAWR!
