Montgomery Scott tried to use a mouse as audio input device (microphone) in Star Trek IV.

well rick , i wanted to ask u , where can i get such backgrounds? ans r u using adobe pr. pro 2.0?"

    thx

  • thanks!

    backgrounds - purchased from eBay.

I use adobe premiere elements 3.0

    Rick

  • I used to use Adobe Premiere 3.0, but I switched over to Sony Vegas Premium and I think it is a better program. I like the green screen controls on Sony Vegas a whole lot better.

  • Thanks for the input - i've always sworn by Premiere, but it's starting to get a bit old so I may be looking to change soon. I don't like the 'dumbed down' newer versions of Premiere, so am considering moving to Vegas. Is it easy to manually keyframe all elements on Vegas?

Big questions - can Vegas handle .PSD files (still pics with transparent backgrounds created in Photoshop) - as I use them all the time.

    cheers

    Rick.

  • @rickvanman Hmmmm, about the .psd files you're talking about, well, I think PNG files will work. Just save the image as PNG from Photoshop. Hopefully this helps. :)

  • download the trial of FXhome for your keyframe work. I use both versions of software from the (pro versions) and it's super easy to use, has a ton of free filters including day for night, and it generally make you look like a better editor than you are. the drawback is no sound support. so I use Corel VideoStudio 12 for sound support.

  • Awesome Video, I am new at green screen and would like to know how you maintain your image from appearing fuzzy. Although I achieved keying green out, I have a halo and the image appears blurry. I am using Adobe Pro CS3. Thanks

  • It's a bit of an art-form that takes practice and experience. Try using several key filters, each tuned to a different shade of green/blue. Also try applying a non-red filter to help eliminate the halo (should be listed among the other keying filters). Backlighting your subject will help eliminate "bounce" of blue/green light back onto your subject which also causes a halo effect.

good luck with your future projects.

  • Thanks Rickvanman for your quick response, I will take your suggestions into consideration as I continue to grow!

  • great work!! just wonder m8 what camera did u use or how much it cost the lights too thanks in advance keep them coming

  • thanks. Its a Panasonic NV-GS500 - costs around £800 GBP.

the lights are standard halogen worklights that cost around £25 per pair.

  • thank you for your reply , you are a great informative person in youtube, Keep them coming

  • Hello! Great video! I have to produce a news cast for school, and this song would be amazing for it ( intro). Is there any way to have this song by downloading it, or by sending it to me by email?

    Thank you soo much!

  • Hi. You can download the music from the BBC.

just Google "BBC News Theme Tunes" and it's at the top of the list.

  • Ok great! thank you very much. Appreaciate it :)

  • that was so hilarious!

tell me wasnt that you the reporter and you the drunk?? lol

    that was very well edited!

  • Gee, I will come and have a play on ya set for a cup of tea and a few biscuits.

Actually that sounds good, I might just go put a pot of tea on right now.

  • WERE do u get the chroma key

  • You need editing software that is capable of applying a chromakey effect to the footage that you shoot in front of a blue/green screen. I use premiere elements.

  • You can use a simple softwares like Windows Movie Maker for chroma keying

  • LLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a super bad chroma key, but a very good chroma keyer! I really want a bluescreen!Right now i have a green screen.

  • That water, must have been really hard, I have tried multiple times to key out water, its very time consuming and ALOT of effort, really nice job with it!

  • ooooh... i bet that glass of water was a bitch

  • nice video i liked the intro but the rest I didnt get it

  • True englishman, Tea and Biscuis

  • Well done! :-)

  • hahahaha very well done! (was he really drunk? he looked drunk even it the out-takes :P)

  • Actually, I was stone-cold-sober! lol! It really was just water!

  • how did you do the chroma key without the edges being so uneven?

  • Hi.

The key (no pun intended) I found, was to use a dark background image. Lighter ones really show up the jagged edges around the characters.

lighting your bluescreen evenly, but not very brightly also helps.

  • k you've been a great help...thanks

  • with that lights you should use green screen. also green screen is used on video, blue screen on professional movies.

  • Really good, love it! Much better than the BBC's attempt at a news channel!

  • lmao!!

  • you no the actual picture of the news room where did that come from i have my chromakey all i need is the actual pic of the news room or video you use where can i get that you are really good

  • please can you tell me how did you get the news room where the lady sits at the desk from please help

  • I purchased some backdrops from eBay

  • that was good i love tea and I'm a classicly trained actor.

  • Great! let me know if you want an acting job! lol (not sure if custard creams are tax-deductable though!)

  • yes I do. What do you need me to do next? I drink 1 Lb. of Lipton Loose Leaf a month(hot of course)

  • Loved the outtakes....
