you are a genius , and ...like me also father of a 6 year old i do not have money for a hexapod...the fuckin company told me it would be great for flightsimming....6000 dollars they are sick in their fu...n brains to even think about selling it to gamers. well i do like your solution , and want to say thank you so much for the motivation and showing us your great great solution. thank you , that is very kind of you!!!
Where am I able to get one of the items on 0:48 , and on 5:25? Plus where can I buy the " arrr arrr arrr 24volt 100w 8.2A 4000RPM 300mm/sec+ Grunters"? And what's the cost of it?
@eclecticguy47 Go to a junkyard and pull one off of a wrecked car... You'll pay no more than 20-40 bucks for it... cut off all but the center U-joint, and weld square plates to it
Do you have a website where we can get more info? I've started working on a project similar to yours for College and your videos are an inspiration!!!
Well since a couple of weeks I had the crazy idea to make a flightsimulator myself. Anyway good to see some peeps are as crazy ;) working on my plan now but still struggeling with getting the data from the game to the motors. Still have no idea how to do that. I suppose I should check the sofwhere you said there. going to keep it simple and try to make a 2D first. I'm happy I found your posts here. It made me change the plans a bit. Great post!
Yes I've found the game to motor interface the tricky part also. Using either X-Sim or the BFF makes it easier for us mere mortals. Allow in your design for the positional feedback device, whether it be pot or optical encoder before you build. Good luck!!
oh dude your vids make it looks so easy, im so gonna do it lol, first i wasnt sure, but it will be fun, i have already designed some stuff on autodesk, thnkx x sharing your work
hey man, nice job. can you tell me where you got the actuators, the model and if you did any modifications to them. also, how are you gonna get the data from the game to run them. also what controller board are you gonna use. interested in making one of these myself. please let me know
Hi njracer, the actuator arm came from a Dymat 3000N. It has a nylon nut, other brands can be different. In another vid I show how I modded it. To get the data from the game I'm going to use X-Sim free software with Thanos' AVR controller design (ATmega8535) and also Ian's Motion Driver v1.5 (Picaxe 28X1) to compare the 2 systems. I will reveal all this in ongoing vids.
where can I find those hydraulics? and that thing you put in the midle? and do it cost?

If your grandma was as old as mine, you'd know that you don't need to kill them, you can just let them die.

Did you plan any part of construction or did you just build the stuff as you went along?

Nice, I may make one for my teenage son. Better than some market types I've seen on this site.
