@flurry103 i don't do any of that. i just push down like how you would do a single beat. it just takes practice. i don't even know how to do the slide or heel toe haha.

@mest0505 I can do faster doubles using single strokes but it's not really consistent. I have to heel-toe it to get it consistent at faster speeds.

Why be like Portnoy if you're going to play Alkaline? I mean... He's a great drummer in deed but Derek Grant is a GREAT drummer too. Just because he's not a Portnoy it doesn't mean you can't copy him. He's this dude inspirantion and mine as well. I like the way that Derek palys. I also like other greats drummer such as: Tony Roister Jr., Buddy Richl... Just because I like Derek's style it doesn't mean I must not know about drumming or drums itself. Just like this dude. Congrats man.

yeah any drummers easy to mimic, i could sit down and be a parrot to just about any drummer, its a drummers style and technique thats hard to copy, and if your a real drummer you wouldent want to realy you develop your own skills

its fake. its a replica of derek's bass drum. 14x28 i think its that. i dont know if its a 16x28. its huge. my bro is a great artist and i wanted to know how big a 14x28 bass drum so he made it. it makes me look really tiny.

Im using a 22x16 and it is huge for me cause if im ever getting a custom kit im getting 18x2 or 20x24 :P i like long basses.

and 28 is way too brutal for me haha. I will at the most play a 24, its just playability issues for me, like it sounds really good i tried a gretsch 26" and i almost fell in love but it I like to have my tom almost right over the bass drum but if it is 26" i would have to have like a 12x5 tom haha and that would sound terrible.
