I don't understand the rationale for this policy change now that Obama is the selected nominee. The donor's lists show that all campaigns received corporate donations including Obama's. It is highly suspect that this is nothing more than a campaign strategy designed to deflect, distort, distract or deny who the major financial backers are behind Obama.

Technically, a lobbyist is anyone that "lobby's" (meets with in order to try and influence opinion) another person (generally, in the lobby). In government, there are specific rules and laws concerning that sort of activity, and "lobbyist" takes on more specific meaning.
