@apicalmaristem and @jeremologyy plz just never talk again, become a monk somewhere where u can try to repent ur misdeeds because metric is and forever will be fucking amazing. Shame on both of you
@Wakaboo14 Look up Sybris. They're an indie band from Chicago that I think have a lot in common with Land of Talk. Start with "Neon" or "Good Internal Clock," then move on to "Gin Divides Us" and "Burnout Babies." But really, all their songs are good, so just dive in :D
As you hear Elizabeth Powell sing the opening stanzas in that quavery, plaintive voice, you feel like giving her the world's biggest bear hug and telling her everything's going to be all right - only to find, as she ascends to those beatific, shimmering choruses ("How deep is this soul..."), that she's turned the tables in having found a hard-won consolation on her own - and is now telling *you* it's going to be all right...
Check out the longer 5:45 versions at YouTube and CBC Radio 3.
anyone else sick of people posting comments with 'thumps up if....' in them. just post your comment, people know what the thumbs up/down buttons are for. if people like it they will give it a thumps up.
@doomslang Touche! I've loved them for years, finally got a chance to see them live at the Independent in San Francisco last year, had to circle the block for over an hour to find parking but SO worth it.. Liz's voice, wow!! And she's absolutely beautiful in person.
@alexpoulin Sorry. Meant to vote up and agree that this video sucks. The video by La Blogotheque is much better. Really like that live audio take as well.
Fantastic. Great stage presence. They've gotten better than any of their live clips you see on youtube. I met Elizabeth Powell and gave her one of my CDs :D
i am entranced by this music....when i am drawing, this gives me peace and concentration

Amazing song. Worst video ever... there's absolutely ZERO connection to the music. What a waste of a great song.

it is very worthwhile to hunt down LoT's takeaway show for La Blogotheque.

@Wakaboo14 listen to their fellow Canadians, a band called Metric. Emily Haines has a voice that'll blow you away too, just like Liz does here.
