@GTFOVevo Well refering to tankers comment if you think about it you dont see real life trained snipers sitting 20 yards from an objective unless there isnt another more distant line of sight. A trick with each weapon is just look at a wall at a distance and judge how far away you are and see where the bullet impacts. Use distance markers on objectives and also marksman bonus distance to judge how far each shot must go to hit your target. That is of course if you wanna kill people.

As a recon, I've enjoyed massive success rates and scored more points staying at the front of the battle, using the Mobile Spawn and the TUGs, or SOFLAM on vehicle heavy maps, while rampaging with the P90, 870MCS, or just ironsights on the M39. A recon who can sit back and cover an objective is fine, one who sits back and just plinks at targets with no goal is a waste and should go back to COD.

@Kretain You must not have read the post. I'm saying that a long range recon SHOULD be doing those. As long as he is actually accomplishing something beyond just racking up a better K/D ratio. Going 45/0 and not doing a damned thing to stop a plant or disarm does your team exactly nothing.  The first portion of my map was me pointing out how only an idiot shoe-horns the class into being a "sniper" because they get a sniper rifle.

Anyone who has killed 45 people in a game has done very well and made a major difference however they did it. 45 people is around a qtr of the tickets in a conquest game (depending on map), all killed by one person.

All you gotta do it go to the top of the carrier via the ladders. I do it all the time. Your semi hidden and the spawn marker covers you from the enemy spotting you. Get 600+m headshots there if your good enough.

@0Tanker0 Actually it depends on how good of a sniper you are. Not only can you spot for your team, which is a huge part of the recon class, but you can draw attention to yourself. If you're a bad sniper i agree you're useless and should just use an USAS with frag rounds and just go spray and pray. But for those of us that are good with scoped weapons not only can you gain alot of points for yourself but help your team tremendously. At that point its not camping, its sniping.
