sign for Obama

why does obama get to have a name sign? I thought getting a name sign was not something given lightly? And exactly what has he done for the deaf community? Doesn't seem to me he has done anything different from any other politician.

@Bhav341 ... good question. I saw that many deafies wanted to do his name and I wanted to share my input. Was just something I thought I could share.. but seriously.. Obama .. all he did was signed his name to some deafies when he was running for president.. *ppfhht* whatever... that is why they are trying to come up with his sign name. he does not know sign language .. just how to say" My name is"... thats it! LOL

@Bhav341 ... I dont know.. I was just signing this name cuz alot of deafies was doing this and I just wanted to share my view .. I am not a Obama fan... but it was interesting how they wanted to give his a sign name. *sighs* oh well.. it was fun making the video O.O

that's a cool sign for Obama i think. i wish he would know sign language, that would be cool to have US pesident know ASL. :)

I loved your video. I thought the ideas you presented for the different Obama Name signs were all interesting, and personally I also think the name sign you expressed is the best. I am a Deaf Education student, and am in ASL IV. I really liked how clear your signing was. It was very easy for me to understand. :)

I haven't seen anything natural for Obama yet! I think we need to wait and see a little while.. Young high school kids may come up with something.. too many go against ASL natural sign names.

I shouldn't say that "too many" I should have said of those I have seen two so far.. sorry about that.. one of the students at the school for the deaf signed O-B on the right side of the forehead/head. I had to ask him to sign again and I thought I like that.. sort of like yours, but one hand.

I think the last choice for O B was best around the head as you signed it it looks cool and to tell the president what it means is he is young and smart. thats My opinion.I loved it . though was hard to choose from what I thought I am H-of H from Canada. Heyyyy girl, I loved your video! I prefer the sign for OB that you did around the head in 1.05 secs, as it's easier for me to remember to do that sign lol with one hand. I vote for that one! xxxxx
