  • to make a completely new flavor, i was wondering if you knew how many packs of gelatin a box of jello contained...i wanted to make my own colors and flavors without the use of a jello/ kool-aid box. any help would be greatly appreciated

  • SWEET

  • I dont live in the US, what can i use as a substitute for the koolaid?

  • @MrS0v13tRaz3rStick any type of unsweetened powdered drink mix that requires sugar

  • @danrt50 thanks.

  • Wouldn't pouring the hot mixture into the pan with cellophane wrap slightly melt the wrapper making the candy slightly plastic infused?

  • @FlullyFly i haven't had any problem since i wait for it to cool a bit before i pour and it does peel off. you could always use glass and grease it, but that does add a flavor that's not great, or just dig it out of the pan if you don't mind wrecking it but the metal could add a flavor too

  • would you recommend using malic acid instead of citric acid?

  • @ilmrd11707 don't see why not, but i don't know the amount since i can't get it here

  • What does it taste like?

  • haha, he said jellatin funny!

  • @skatingLITHvideos lol its spelled gelatin

  • What's Kool aid?

  • tried this and it was amazing!!!!

  • how many times have u made this recipe

  • @iloveNFL1 odd question... i never counted

  • Thanks man.i gonna try it

  • ur legit

  • @Dreamer8Holic koolaid is a powdered drink mix I'm not sure what cordial powder is tho

  • @Fashioncf1999 ok~ Umm do you happen to know how many grams are in each packet of Koolaid?

  • Thanks, I'm definitely making this

  • He says ok,k, and alright toooooo much!!!!!

  • What is the AUS varient of kool-aid?

  • Okay uhmm Citric acid do you have to wait for that??

  • it looks sosoo good

  • what's koolaid? is it like cordial powder?

  • @Dreamer8Holic *HUGE FACEPALM*

  • I mean malic

  • I'm goin to do this shit with melic acid

  • Citric acid is a chemical used in many foods to keep them from going bad and to make them taste sour.

It is the chemical that makes the gummies taste really sour.

  • Cirtic acid?Whats that?If someone replies and tells me i will sub.Oh and btw please don't call me dumb just because i dont knoqlw what it means.Im only 8

  • @hyperhayoung oh citric acid makes things sour like in a lemon its a citric fruit. there is another type of acid that makes things sour its called malic acid DO NOT USE THAT IN YOUR CANDY if you have tasted warheads you would know

  • Acid!?!?!?!

  • r u from Canada?

  • does the corn syrup have to be golden? also is it ok if i use strawberry jello and cherry kool-aid

  • @fewchains any kind is fine and mix whatever flavors u like

  • or get a science pack thing then just take the citric acid!

  • WHERE did you get your measuring cups? I've been looking for something like those to get for my mom.

  • @meizbeasty they're kitchen-aid, i got them at home outfitters in canada, but they have them at amazon too.

  • do you nead the souer cant you hav they ather

  • @loli12z no yes

  • Oh Yes, I Buy Citric Acid ALL The Time...

  • How long do i keep it in the fridge???

  • @JEFFLISI it takes a couple hours to get really cold and chewy, but if you leave it uncovered and turn them, they just keep getting chewier as they dry out. personally, i don't like them that chewy and tend to eat them before they get like that

  • You say you wont tell how much citric acid in this recipe but it states at the bottom of the screen 1 tbsp. So whats up with that?

  • @robbing16 somebody else put that up, not me, and i replied it was 15ml

  • Be reeeeeeeallly careful about the citric acid... you don't want to put too much! I won't tell you in the video how much I'm putting in, just be reeeeeaaaally careful!

  • @Etherwar at 00:59 --- 15ml

  • Do you use sweetened or unsweetened Kool-Aid?

  • @metoolawson i never use unsweetened anything in anything. i don't think artificial sweeteners are good for people and won't vouch for them.

  • SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WHEN DO I ADD THE SALT OR SOMETHING

  • @AZTEC8740 what salt???

  • @AZTEC8740 its sugar... wtf if you like your candy with sugar like the ones in the store

  • and then a half teaspoon of citric acid and cornflour! to role them in! AMAZING!

  • what if i want to skip the cutting step and eat it all at one time

  • buying it is so much eaiser

  • i would eat that square as is. xD

  • OMG it worked i actually made this and its really good!!! XD

  • @ipikachu21 thanks, glad to hear it

  • I made this using raspberry jello with berry blue koolaid...awesome recipe...my family and friends loved it :D

  • @ilemangu good to hear, thanks.

  • DO u HAVE 2 add kullade because im frome australia and we dont have kullade in packets

  • @yianSTAR180 any drink mix in packets that uses sugar should work

  • @danrt50 Its spell Kool-Aid

  • @EvoMitsubishiLancer And "Its spell Kool-Aid" is spelled "It's spelled Kool-Aid" lol

  • @danrt50 lmao...lol....nice recipe

  • @danrt50 I thought the same thing :O

  • @danrt50 Thanx :D going 2 try this looks sooooo yummy :P

  • LIKE A BOSS!!!!

  • can u leave out the citric acid? if u wanted a sweeter version? or is it absolutely needed?

  • @SummerAndSpring4eva7 yes, you can leave it out

  • @danrt50 alright awesome. :D cuz truthfully i don't even know what citric acid is. or where to get it.

  • LOVE your video - keep em coming!

  • hahahahahahhahahahahahah! i like how the first knife doesnt work out for him so he whips out the huge knife hahahahahahaha

  • is it more jello like or more gummy like? all the videos i have seen so far are pretty much jello-y >.>

  • @mictain666 it is a soft gummy at room temp, chewy when cold, and if you leave them in a bowl uncovered in the fridge for a couple of days and turn them, they are really really gummy chewy even at room temperature.

  • Mkehy??? Alrigth??? like his voice :)

  • do you use the koolaid with sugar or no sugar?

  • @ilemangu with sugar only please

  • that is pretty cool. im wierdandproud and you can see my wierd videos. i would be proud of it.always be proud of being wierd. its normal.

  • You can hear him eating it near the end...

  • Looks like you had too much of that!

  • Alright!

  • japanese candy level: 1,000,000,000

    american candy level:0.01

check out rrcherrypie he is the master of japan

  • @dixster101 rrcherrypie doesn't make his own gummies. gtfo.

  • wads the kooli for?

  • @Nanoha1287 it adds sourness and also allows you to blend two flavours, one koolaid and one jell-o

  • can u take out the citric acid and make it regular

  • @eggy614 yes

  • Is there anything I can coat the candy with to prevent the pieces from sticking to one another?

  • @JakeAHarris dunno, sorry, i tried powdered sugar and it all just turned to goo

  • @danrt50 CORN STARCH!

  • @JakeAHarris you can use baking souda

  • @JakeAHarris corn starch

  • @JakeAHarris cornstarch

  • @JakeAHarris Corn starch.

  • @JakeAHarris cornstarch might work

  • @JakeAHarris Flour and casting sugar. both 1 tsp

  • @JakeAHarris try coating them with a few drops of coconut oil :)

you might want to dust them in corn starch and then place them in a empty can with a few drops of coconut oil and swirl them around to coat them evenly

  • This recipe is too fattening I have seen healthier

  • But i am norwegian

  • can u use it with out the gelatin

  • citric acid is what makes it sour

  • Do u have 2 use citric acid?????

  • I wanted to know it I can put a light coating of cornstarch on my cutting board? I don't want stain left behind :)

Also, try using metal cookie cutters to make cute shapes!!

  • @ToriBidr19 dunno,sry, my plastic doesn't stain

  • have you ever tried any other flavors???

  • Comment removed

  • You say alright A LOT.

    Alright?

  • Sometimes citric acid is used in making wines. You may be able to find it at a Brewer's Supply Place.

  • That looks soooo good but sooooo fattening O_o

  • Corn Syrup Is Fattening . :/

  • rawr rawr kewl imma try tht today

  • That Looks Delicious! I'd Rather Make My Own Than Buy Sour Gummi Worms.

(That Cutting Boar Looks Dangerous Moving Around On Your Counter Tops, Might I Suggest A Rougher Surface To Cut Stuff on? Perhaps A Wooden Table.)

  • @HaxAras Or put a damp cloth underneath the cutting board :)

  • @iCeliscope I Don't have A Slick Surface Like That Bit I'll Try That Sometime. Thanks!

  • Is the Koolaid nessessary? I live in Ireland. And they don't sell it over here.

  • @YourDubstepSource it adds more flavour and some sourness, so you'd probably be ok to up the amount of citric acid by 5ml or so instead unless you can get some kind of cold drink mix that you have to add sugar and water, stay away from the sugarfree stuff

  • @danrt50 dubstep? holy shit, you came to life once again.

  • @YourDubstepSource You Could Probably Import Kool Aid And Sell It For Fortunes Since It's Not Sold Anywhere Else!

  • ur stupid why would u ask that u ideot lol well yeah u can

  • Could you take the citric acid out and just make regular gummy candy?

  • When your cutting, pinch your blade. Make sure so your arm will not get tired, also when cutting anything make sure you have the tip of the blade on the cutting board, the rock it back anf fourth in a rocking motion. Sorry XD, Im in culinary, I just wanted to correct that.:)

  • Great find the taste is awesome. One problem. After I pulled it out of the fridge there was a layer on the bottom about 1/8" thick that was hard. What did I do wrong?

  • @jpserv123 did you stir it up before pouring it out? and how long did you let it cool at room temp before putting it in the fridge? if you put it in the fridge right away and the shelf was very cold, that might do it.

  • Can I do it without gellatin?? I'm not entirely sure if my local supermarket has it or not

  • @fellowismellow i don't think it will come out if you don't. gelatin is usually in the baking section at most supermarkets.

  • I started to cringe when you began cutting out the cubes. Use a damp cloth under the cutting board, because that slip 'n slide you've got going will cost you a finger someday.

  • i have a quick question ... if i dont want it sour i dont need citric acid right? and this video is great im making it for my class party wich is in 3 days :D

  • @valer0ckz12 that's correct, they will come out fine. hope everyone likes them.

  • I tryed this without citric acid because I couldnt find any. Plus time was a factor. Ill let you know how they come out.

  • the plastic wrap seems to stick on my fingers but not on the pan. so i used a silicon based pan( rubbery like baking gear) it works :

  • Can i substitute water instead of apple juice?

  • @MrTerror97 you can try but the flavor will definitely be missing something and it may affect the viscosity as well, i.e. it may be more watery and less chewy. but if you do, please let me know how they turned out.

  • are you canadian?

    i think u are. lol

  • @clarencex215 Is it because he said eh? :P

  • My dreams of making giant gummies are about to come true! Thanks!

  • i tried it and it acutally turned out amazing! it tasted sooo good and it was actually sour! i added a little more citric acid cus i like this super sour but it was an AMAZING recipie! thank you soooooo much <3 i hope everyone tries this!!!!!!!

  • @eyeilymaddi thank you :)

  • Did u know corn syrup is the worst sugar you could give to ur body.! Lol. I feel nerdy. Yay Mee. Lol. Nicee(:

  • @yaritzae03 But the candy you buy in the store is probably really healthy tho, right? :P

  • @FuglFoeniks eey' i was just saynn.. lol;)

  • Tummy yummy

  • Cool I'm gonna mak this for my class

  • @makeurofl great, hope everybody likes them

  • awesome!

  • Wow :) thank u;)

  • @annieemaa ur welcome

  • i post vids to show people how to make stuff, whether they do or not is up to them. i think this tastes better, but that's me.

  • i would like to do this but i dont have the stuff and if i goo to store and boy the stuff why not just get the candy

  • but with the jello wouldn't it like be more jelloy ?? and softer

  • @bubbles123ily the added gelatin does firm it up. it would likely be possible to remove the jello, add more gelatin and sugar/corn syrup and koolaid to achieve a firmer consistency, but as i told someone earlier, the easiest route would be to experiment with the amount of liquid.

until you try it as is, it's difficult to say what changed result you want since it's quite good as it is.

  • @danrt50 ohhhhh ok i see i forgot that the gelitian made it more firmer

  • if you leave it uncovered in the fridge it will get more chewy for sure.

another way would be to decrease the amount of apple juice but i wouldn't cut back too much or the gelatin will not completely dissolve.

  • how do i get it to be more chewy for next time i make it.

  • Awesome! I've been looking for something other than the traditional cookies and covered pretzels this year for platters, this is perfect! Thank you.

  • Oh my goodness that looked good!

  • @dadisthekingofkings thank you, it is, you should try it :)

  • where do i get citric acid?

  • @16chickie most pharmacies either keep a bottle behind the counter or can special-order it for you from their wholesaler.

  • why is there apple juice?

  • @sonic6472002 it adds to the flavor and viscosity of the finished product

  • will it turn back to liquid if you leave it out or you have to put it back in the fridge?

  • @dreamangel6368 no, they just get real soft like fruit jelly though still taste good

  • Can I not add the citric acid to make gummy candies?

  • @caramilk not sure i understand the question.... there's citric acid in the recipe. if you're talking about adding citric acid to store-bought gummis, i have no idea.

  • @danrt50 well, I would like to make non-sour gummies.

  • @caramilk oh, that's easy. just leave out the citric acid and they still come out fine. i originally tried the recipe without it but finally added it since sour gummies seem to be more popular.
