  • i shot about 350 rounds through mine and had the trigger reset problem but after the first 100 or so it was resolved. i guess it needed a break in period but yeah almost all .22's will jam in this thing EXCEPT the CCI stinger and such wich run 100%. this is a legit self defense tool. fits in a pocket, accurate, easy to field strip

  • These lil pistols are so damn loud to be a .22 lol !!!!!!

  • i have a jennings model 48 ,,380, and when i pull the slide back it dosnt cock, i just bought a new firing pin and magazine, any idea what is wrong?

  • jennings arms are junk....go with phoenix arms.

  • y is it that they fall apart???? i have one with 4 clips and when shotting but had not had a problem with mine... i keep serching and seing ppl have problems with there 22 jennings????

  • Rodasj...What type of Ammo are you using?I bought one of this J-22's recently and was using a federal Bulk pack 36 grain hollow points high Velocity(1260fps)..The thing is the rounds case expands to much that I have to pull them from the chamber with pliers any insight to what ammo works for you?Have you ever had this case expanding issue?

  • @cazz77 i was using cheap federal bulk pack. I have cycled cci mini mags with no jams in this gun.

  • @cazz77 Use CCI Mini Mags, Velocitors, and Stingers. You will have no feed problems. Federal Laces their powder with black powder to reduce cost therefore making it dirty and easier to Jam.

  • This is the same gun as the Jimenez Arms JA-22. Jennings went out of business and Paul Jimenez bought the machinery and started Jimenez Arms.

  • I 've had the same problem when i first bought the gun but i started using CCI hollow point rounds 22lr and have not had the problem since. i didnt change anything internal on the gun just the ammo

  • I have the same problem with mine. The spent casing is getting stuck halfway out and holding the slide open. Not a bad little pocket rocket when it functions like it should, which is not very often. Got it free, Thank God!

  • I've actually experienced a spring problem inside the pistol. The spring that gives the trigger tension for it to reset actually broke and wedged itself up by the feed ramp. It was an easy fix. My little J-22 shoots great with just the big box of federal 22lr. I've only had one jam and one failure to extract out of 550rds. Not bad for the $50.00 I paid for it.

  • Good times. Im actually considering getting another J22

  • Its actually not a feeding problem, its an extraction problem

  • i own a j22. it seems like the gun has issues feeding rounds, anyone that owns the same model as the one in the vid experiencing similar problems?

  • I had the issue and I removed the safety. I haven't had as many issues but every once in a while I'll still have a bad feed.

  • mine feeds fine but the casings just get stuck. Does anyone know the best ammo to use in the J22??

  • @harrison2324 when in doubt, no mater the brand of the autoloading .22 in questioin, think CCI stingers.

  • my firing pin is missing the bullet badly about 25% is hitting the bullet and the rest is hitting the barrel. this caused a tiny indent to form and lookin down the barrel a unperfect circle can be seen i now have to jam my .22 bulet in the chamber one by one to shot and the cartridge doesnt fly out have to use pylers to get it out!! ANY SOLUTIONS ANYBODY HELP PLEASE

  • JUNK DONT BUY!!!! READ REVIEWS

  • my friend has one of these and we recently went out shooting and took it with us and its a 1 hit wonder lol. meaning it would shoot a round but get jammed because the ejection lever cant grab the spent shell properly. but aside from that its hilarious to shoot so it would be awesome if he got that fixed, is that a common problem with these?

  • It's is somewhat a common problem with these. I would suggest he gets a new extractor. That should solve the problem.

  • Your friend's pistol likely has a firing pin nose that is too long and pushing the empty shell away from the ejector. He can shorten the firing pin nose slightly with a small file, that should remedy his problem. About 3.0 mm is the right length for most of these pistols. I own 6 of them.

  • @crzyruskie86 i have the exact same problem with mine its fu*ckin annoying cause its a lil badass looking gun but jams 10/10 times. were you able to get yours to fire as good as this guy, in this video?

  • @47gomez47 no not yet, i told him i would go halves on the repair cause i like shooting the thing too but we have been lazy and broke so no dice hahaha.

  • @crzyruskie86 haha. i just fixed mine the other day with some online research and now im getting like a jam or 2 every 12 rounds. the problem with mine was that the firing pin dimpled the edge of the chamber. which caused an irregular circular chamber. so when fired the shell would expanded and the dimple would lock the shell in then chamber. not even the extractor would be able to reject (causing the jam)the shell id have to muskit load it with a screw driver to extract it. lol

  • I have a Jennigs J-22 and have never had that problem, you probuably haven't cleaned it in a while, clean it then reshoot and see how much better it is

  • Yeah, the problem is the feed ramp and the magazine. I'll have to polish that ramp and get some new mags. Thanks for the info.

  • Yeah the Browning Buckmark is a very good gun. As far as a self defense round I would not trust the .22 A .22 is capable of doing extensive damage inside a human body and can be very deadly, but if the attacker is determined to cause you harm or to take your life the only thing that would probably stop him is precise hits, I.E Head, stomach, and chest. If you have no other weapon to defend yourself than a .22 is better than nothing. CCI Stingers are good self defense rounds.

  • i have a buck mark and a j22 and they all have the same problems, they all have ramp polishing needs, the buckmark will jam at times too, i just cleaned the j22 and you would be amazed at the amount of powder and gunk that collects in the firing pin hole and the inside of the slide, i cleaned that damn gun back and forth, the only complaint i have about the j22 is the firing pin, it is very blunt, it is a bit round unlike other 22s which have them almost bladed, good gun for the money though.

  • I have a browning Buckmark .22 is it a good defense gun? are CCI stinger bullets good enough for self defense?

  • dont carry the buck mark, go get you a taurus 22, they are tiny and they are geared for that, the buck mark is a heavy barreled target pistol. cci stingers are beasts but they do have a longer shell, i havent put them through my buckmark.

  • Well today is the big day i finally shoot that thing! ill tell ya if they feed good.. they DO fit in the mag (barely) so ill get back to ya on that

  • yea please do because i dont want to end up jamming and crushing a primer before it reaches the barrel, haha, it should do well though because of the long blow back

  • it worked just fine... .22 CCI stingers feel more like a 9mm LOL! I even shot those remington subsonics and THEY CYCLED!!! Sometimes it wouldnt pull the whole way back but that was still cool.. i also shot some CBs and they were so quiet LOL.. hope this helps

  • wow the subs cycled it, i shot a sub in the jennings and they are so weak resistant that it will cycle in them, but yea i shoot the cb's in my winchester and marlin rifles, very cool little bullets.
