  • @kineasia256 heartbreak warfare

  • @sejtur Thanks! :)

  • is this a bit from Plug In Baby by Muse at 3:40 ?

  • Whelp... time to go throw my guitars in the dumpster.

  • i guess he's not human being..

  • He reminds me of Stevie Ray Vaughan.

  • 3:58 john mayer orgasm

  • 0:57 stevie wonder playing with john mayer

  • Maestro de Maestros!!! :)

  • That's insane!!!

  • mucho maestro ¡¡¡¡ un músico inremplazable¡¡¡

  • Music to me is a language which anybody can understand, and the way the John Mayer puts notes together is just like speaking with beautiful phrases that are meaningful. Listening to someone shred on a guitar is just like listening to someone speak really fast and making no sense! John Mayer just knows what notes to put together, and where to put them, just like anyone of us knows what words to use when we're speaking and when to say them. It's called using "reason"

  • @mrjuanvelasquez1 "Music is a universal language that needs no be translated with it soul speaks to soul."

  • Justin Bierber do this piece of shit :]

  • @sp1naway he is good, but not that good

  • @sp1naway

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO WAY dude

they are gone and noone is their reincarnations,

  • god.

  • Comment removed

  • @sp1naway Incredibly wrong. SRV was lightyears ahead of where Mayer is now. And Hendrix... Well, he's Hendrix. Not really much more to say. Mayer isn't even close to as innovative as Hendrix was, and I'd still put SRV above Mayer when it comes to the actual guitar playing.

No disrespect to Mayer though, he's a phenomenal player.

  • @Merioc2k3 Not trying to pick a fight, but I kindly disagree. SRV was a great player (my greatest influence as a fellow player) but even he said that he would have liked to move away from blues, which he would have done if he hadn't been taken from us. SRV could play the shuffle like noone else, but not much else. Of course, there are a few more experimental songs that he wrote later in his career, like Riviera Paradise, but Mayer's songwriting shows him as the more advanced of the two.

  • @TheExiledTexan I was talking solely about guitarplaying and technique, though. Mayer may be the better MUSICIAN, but in my eyes, SRV is the better guitarist. SRV is one of my greatest influences too, he was the one who got me to move away from shred and heavy metal and try to play the blues instead. Fun fact, I find it harder to play blues than any of the shred metal stuff.

  • @Merioc2k3 Well, in that case, I agree. JM is in many ways a SRV clone. And I started as a prog rock guitarist, but blues are far more enjoyable, because it's easier to channel one's emotions.

  • @TheExiledTexan Most guitarist I've known have gone from pop to blues, and then shred metal. I went from pop to shred metal to blues... And in fact, I find channeling my emotions the most difficult thing about music.

What's your opinion on guitarists like Buckethead and Paul Gilbert?

  • @Merioc2k3 I respect the technical knowledge they possess, in the same way that I do Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, but I feel that if one focuses too much on the technical aspect, the emotion is lost. Not to say that technical brilliance is a bad thing to have, just that if you focus too much on making every single note perfect, you lose the reason why you play. That's why I love blues players; you can see that they have a reason for every note they play.

  • @TheExiledTexan Interesting perspective. While I do respect your opinion, I have to disagree. I suggest you listen to Buckethead a bit more. Just listen to Soothsayer, for an example. It's a great song, and the beginning isn't even fast. It's full of emotion, too, even in the fast parts.

Same goes for Paul Gilbert's version of "I still have that other girl". Full of emotion.

  • @Merioc2k3 I hear you man, and I respect that. You're right, there is emotion in that playing. I'm just saying that soloing, to me, is about having something to say, not something to prove with flashy playing. I find it easier to play slower and have emotion than faster, because when I'm playing fast, it's easier to lose the reason behind playing. I suggest you watch this: watch?v=wDYx7DgPH04&feature=relmfu

  • @TheExiledTexan im with you dude, mayer can make my eyes water with one note, shredders treat guitar as a sport and not as an instrument,im guna piss some shredders off here aint i ha ha

  • @TheExiledTexan but then again bonamassa can shred and hes got emotion.....but i still love mayer best ha ha

  • @Merioc2k3 Paul Gilbert is the shit haha. Most of his solos, although shred, are full of emotion. He is the best ha

  • Im so glad I was there! hes a fucking god

  • 4 people are weightless

  • call the police!! the guitar is raped!

  • LOL I was listening and reading comments, and I look up and he's playing his guitar on the ground.

  • @MetalCvrsProductions people do hate this guy because he started in pop! He is the best guitarist around without a shadow of a doubt!

  • For me John Mayer is still underrated.. He needs more..

  • i wonder , how the band know when mayer will end the line of solo

  • @AftershockPS3 He builds up to it, and they have a band talk at the beginning of every tour and show.

  • john mayer just made me feel inadequate as a guitarist.

  • 2:08 => DOGGY STYLE!

  • @AstMar49 You're doing something wrong mate.

  • John Mayer plays better in the fetal position than I do on my best day ever. Depressing.

  • Message to all haters! Your jealous, get over it!

  • @wwe904 im a huge fan of john mayer but im still jealous

  • @wwe904 and dude no one is gona hate this guy because he is amazing but u cant say that other guitarrist is better than other the music is not a fucking contest or something like that

  • That's the kind of artist I'd like to see in 2013.

  • I really like Keith Carlock, but where the fuck is Steve Jordan??

    Too much busy shit..

  • @sssmcd i agree, he takes away from John's solo a bit i think

  • That was utterly pathetic.

  • Oh yeah john just stay like that at 1:50...ill go slow, i promise ;) .....and this is coming from a straight dude

  • guitar hero!

  • hmm. i don't know it's very innovative of him but musically i didn't really get a lot from the solo on the floor - his standing up solos are much more...musically intricate because on the floor you can only do so much with the guitar - tis just my opinion

  • thats it. i'm throwing away my guitar

  • orgasm without even touching urself

  • @Coolrockndad lol I meant burn his guitaar

  • I was there and I was totaly in awe ;D

  • @smnanthny trolling is fun, you should try it once in a while

  • @SaladTaste Ignorant asshole just because I don't share the same musical taste with you? Don't make me laugh. You like him, I don't. Is it that bad? lol

  • @SatrianiruleZ he probably means ignorant asshole because you feel the need to flame a video that is probably only online for others to enjoy, not to be up for discussion. You said yourself, you don't share the same musical tastes, just as John Mayer probably a has a different idea about what he likes to do with his life and music career than you.

If you don't like his music, why are you even watching a video of him and wasting your time commenting an then replying?

    Haters gonna hate.

  • @SatrianiruleZ If you don't like it, why comment?

  • @SatrianiruleZ if you don't like him. i don't think you should be watching him. its that simple...

  • He's talented...but hes also lucky, attractive, likable (by his fans) and he's is a great performer and figurer. He is also a dick, and his music has been done multiple times, he's certainly not pushing any boundaries.

  • He should do a trick where he cuts his left hand off and frets with a...umm...a spoon! Yeah a spoon shoved into his left arm where his hand used to be!

  • Flux capacitor fail!

  • @SatrianiruleZ I somewhat agree....As a musician, he knows what he is doing. Hes got the technique down and knowledge base (he did go to Berkley). But he really excels in the LAME department. He does the most white-bread forgettable blues. And all his regular music is even lamer. Sure he knows what he is doing, but he's way to cocky for his own good....and certainly not good enough to take his guitar off while performing....

  • @SatrianiruleZ You don't have to like it. Just don't be an ignorant asshole.

  • awsome!!

  • THAT WAS WILD!

  • WOOOOOOOOW!

  • i winn! first comment. in 6 months this video will be a youtube sensation, mayer killed it!

  • @civilizedidiot lawls 2,703 views

  • @civilizedidiot You we're wrong, this isn't a youtube sensation, however, it is badass

  • @civilizedidiot guitar solos don't become youtube sensations... unless they are covers of a video game...
