There is no moon on the Apollo 9 mission patch? Unless you mean the red infilled D which looks like a half moon? (and represents not the moon, but the flight as the 'D' mission in the originally planned series)

There are many web pages which list the fate of all of the Apollo rockets and modules. I can't post any of them on here as Mr. U. Tube will delete them. However most components ended up either crashing into the Moon, burning up in the Earths atmosphere, splashing into the North Atlantic or in museums. But there are a few that ended up in solar orbit - priceless historical artefacts just waiting for us to go and reclaim them!

The Apollo 9 logo may have the moon on it even though it didn't go there because the original schedule and goals for each of the missions changed for various reasons (both political and technical) so Apollo 9 may have been originally planned to go to the Moon

Why does the logo have the moon? Apollo 9 never went there. They tested the Lunar Module in EARTH ORBIT ONLY.
