I think Mother 3 is much more suited for the GBA. It looks much more similar to Mother and Mother 2 and helps keep the feel of the series. Nowadays, the N64 models don't look so hot, so using sprites helps the game much better too imo.

Mother wasn't popular in America as it was in Japan so it had little chance to be a good game since Ape Inc. is so used to 2-D platformers. Saying who cares about the graphics is like saying "wow i get a lot of exercise from the Wii, but too bad the game blows" the Wii blows btw...if it were 3-D you should search the fan made 'Wind-Waker' that looks more promising than this crap!

I really miss those old-school polygons. A BIG reason video-games have always attracted peeps is because, like good books, they are an escape from reality. The way games are moving (well, western games at least), everything is becoming photo-realistic and it's BORING. Now Japanese game-developers are following suit and trying to do graphics and that are "realistic". Fuck that...I hope Nintendo doesn't go that way! Anyway,I DIG the jagged, lo-count polys now!

If that rumored Mother Series Port for the DS gets made, then atleast THAT will get released outside Japan. One of the Mother developers said he would like that game to get released overseas, but it all depended on if Nintendo asked for a Mother series port.

If they did it for the GBA with Mother 1 + 2, then I'd have high hopes they do a full series one for the DS.

NoA wants the game but they can't sell it without changing it. A lot of the things from Earthbound are part of copyrighted material and some things that weren't are now. Mother 1 was just one of those things where it just wouldn't have been popular if released when it was translated. In truth, I'm really not sure what's wrong with Mother 3. NoA would ask for it but whether or not the Mother team will let them make changes, that would be no. They attempted before.
