Argh it kills me that Lion doesn't come w/ the ability to change your appearance to graphite. I know its the pettiest thing in the world but it matters to me. Also I hear there are still quite a few kinks that need to be worked out. I think I stick w/ SL, for a while longer. Thanks for the review~
Great review! When I get a MacBook, I want Snow Leopard because I like the scroll bars and I just like the whole UI look of Snow Leopard better. Hopefully Apple will allow Lion users to bring back the old style because I like the SL style better. The scroll bars is one of the biggest things for me. I don't want grey skinny ones, I want the blue ones as they look better IMO. They're fine on the iPhone but not on Mac.
@NathanCJohnson I'm sure you can do it, even if it comes preinstalled with Lion. If that happens, then you would have to buy the Snow Leopard CD or Thumbdrive.
@JSantana319 And then if I bought the Snow Leopard CD I would be able to put it onto the MacBook with Lion on it? Well, I might end up liking Lion IF Apple gives us a choice for the Aqua to come back as I like the SL scrollbars, radio buttons, checks, etc.
Okay. Currently I'm using snow leopard, would I be right in thinking that at least at this moment in time installing lion would be a mistake? (especially when you consider all the bugs etc. that lion has)
they also changed dashboard and photo booth, they also seemed to have fewer desktop backgrounds, or at least they did in the apple store, I played with it there and didnt really like some of the changes, the system preferences seems to be different to on some things, the scrolling can be fixed to work normally though, They also changed the gestures for the macbooks and magic trackpads, which I didnt like either, I think I will stay with snow leopard for now.
Only thing I hate about new design it that scroll bar when you change the view, it would look fine on a tablet or a pc with touchscreen, but scrolling that thing with the mouse just looks unnatural and doesn't fit well to the rest of the design elements.
People, please stop being so rude. This video is about UI DIFFERENCES, basically about VISUAL ELEMENTS CHANGED, not about functionality features, and IT IS USEFULL for DESIGNERS (like me) or for people how enjoy beauty of Apple products.
Who cares how round, blue or gradient the windows are? Talk about actual changes in functionality instead. If these really are the biggest changes from snow leopard, Apple hasn't put very much effort into it.
I am amazed by all the video reviews on OS X Lion that say how good it is that you can click-n-drag those sliders (like in the Finder for the different view styles).
What is the use in that, honestly? I think Apple is going a bit too far in trying to prove to the world how good they are at making gimmicky animations. I mean it looks nice, but that's it. A simple click on the option you want will always be faster and easier.
@Sk8ordieknarlysk8er No, not full screen. I'm honestly not sure what it does. I've never used it in Leopard, Snow Leopard, or Lion. I never got the point of it.
Well, in previous versions, it expands the video to try and get rid of the scroll bars as much as they can. For example, if you have a horizontal scroll bar, it'll expand the window horizontally up till you don't need the scroll bar. I thought it was quite useful :D
@MSComputerVideos Plus opens window to it's full size, not full size of screen but full size of application which can take for example half of screen to display all the neccesary info, so it don't have to be open in full screen and waste free space of the desktop.
I think that they have partially ruined the mac. They are essentially trying to turn all of their products into the ipad. I already have an ipad and I think that a Mac should be totally different.
@jayparmar1971 It's actually included in OS X Lion. I can't post a link on here but you might be able to find it by searching OS X Lion default desktop.
You lost credibility starting @ 0:50 :/

I seriously have no idea, the dual monitor setup is as good as useless with it.
I've had to change my entire workflow because of it.
It really is a horribly concept. They have to bring spaces/expose back, seriously.

When does OS X Lion release? And will it cost or be free?
PureGraphicTutorials 10 months ago
@PureGraphicTutorials Lion is coming some time this summer. Probably not free.
MSComputerVideos 10 months ago
@MSComputerVideos Thanks for the reply, Hmmm I thought it wouldn't be free, it shouldn't cost more than £100 will it?
PureGraphicTutorials 10 months ago
@PureGraphicTutorials well, I don't know what that is in $, but Snow Leopard was $30, and Leopard was $129. I think it'll be somewhere in the middle.
