  • @coirpeach1 What the hell? I'm from Canada and sometimes I hear Americans say that they think we pay taxes to the Queen....but you guys? Ireland? C'mon, tell me that isn't true.

  • With a prayer to GOD he hit the soad and against the hill he flew ..........

  • yes i agree with secrets revealed one movement comment that there version is the greatest of this song ever made well done lads

  • lol at the subliminal message on 36 seconds that says oppose censorship. ha ha there is no censorship anymore mate no need for silly messages ha ha

  • go to secretsrevealedonemovement myspace to hear the best version of this song

  • lol at 0:36, you know that subliminal messages do not work on anyone that thinks logically and only work relatively poorly on people that tend to act on whims. You idiots.

  • I saw "The Wind That Shakes The Barley" on TV yesterday. Very impressive! Good that you Irish gained your freedom and sad that so many had to be killed or to suffer before the glorious great-british politicians in London came to their senses. History books should tell us more about this in Holland (we mainly get the BBC-version here). Please, make more films about your history and please put more of those old songs in it.

  • Thats for taking an interest but if u search the internet there are many Irish sites to tell u da truth

  • @SiemEik We haven't gained our freedom. Britain still occupies the northern part of our country. Britain wont give us freedom.

  • @1Fianna If they wont give it, we'll fuckin take it mo chara. We've waited 800 years & we'll wait 8000 more if necessary. We're stronger than them, we'll be here until the sun falls just as the druids predicted 3000 years ago. All good things comes to those with patience, we have been slowly eroding thier authority & their will to go on & in the end we'll have whats ours1 way or the other. In the end they'll beg us to take it back, We might even charge them a few pound 4 the privelege, LOL

  • god bless them all. iam english but not british.up the irb and the ira may god bless them all and love and cuddle those gallant menb

  • Disagree , a very sad time in Ireland's history, but its just that now ...History. lets live in peace and prosper but never forget. MS (an English man)

  • great song, well put together.what a disgrace that politicians of today are running a country that was fought for by brave and decent men of that era.politicians today would not be fit to tie the bootlaces of those men.our history is too easily forgotten.

  • there are around 7 versions of this wrote. brilliant song, and the history of knockanure is true scary lol volunteers that shed blood there often meet there own death there, chillingly ironic lol.

  • Where doesthe Picture of the Tans holding up the IRa man come from. I have another photo and it is quoted as the battle of Tralee but that might be wrong. Note the wounded or dead man in the rear.

  • I am unsure to be honest. I just picked it up over time. Cant recall my Sources

  • In the photo caption of the English newspaper of the time it says that an auxiliary as seen in the photo was wounded and one IRA man killed. Battle of Tralee might be a bit of an exaggeration certainly compared to other battles during the Anglo Irish War. The photo I have was taken at a greater distance-I think the aftermath may have been cuaght on cinefilm as well. Still a very well put together movie well done.

  • Remembering recent history in song. Nice.

  • i like the picture that was painted from gortaglanna looking towards the valley

  • there was in fact no valley, its all lowland

  • well as a young 12 year old about 30 years ago, it looked a valley to me as i went to explore the cottage, across from me nans...

  • Tiocfaidh Ár Lá...

  • I always liked the Wolfe Tones, singing The Valley of Knockanure. well done, thanks.

  • It is Quite good. And the Tones were a young band at this time as well
