Hey Nick, awesome review as always. You galvanized my decision to get a MKII, which I got through the post last week, absolutely love it. Have you tried it with a 510? Really good combo! Battery life is compromised slightly but well worth it for the throat hit.

I just ordered this cig, and I got the Vp Passthrough on your rec. about 3 months ago, and it is awesome. Your videos are great, you do the best reviews on the web. You should do a review on the juice from ivape.com Make sure you get the watermelon, cause it taste like jolly rancher, and it vapes awesome. Goes great with the VP Passthrough. I just hope the FDA doesn't ban this stuff. Keep up the good work.
@xchatoelpidio objectively the silver bullet is 100% more versatile than the MKII, it can do 3.7 and 6v , where the MKII can only do 3.7v. The MKII is smaller , but based purely on performance, the SilverBullet would win it hands down
@GrimmGreen Except that in the UK, the silver bullet sells for 70quid and you get NOTHING ELSE with it. You have to buy your own charger, battery, atomiser, cartridges, etc. That's a major rip-off - which is why i say that ivapour can vape my gas.
This thing is really amazing. The best e-cig I've ever used. When I first got it I had a lot of trouble getting the cap off though, I had to pry it off with an x-acto blade, which was a pain.
Hi Grimm, Just got my SD from TW this week. Works great with a Super-T drip-tip - not good with a standard cart. I don't know if the atty is a LR, but I did order some this week. Still waiting on my 10440 battery/charger kit for my Super - T "Precise".
i love my screwdriver the only thing i wish i knew before i bought it was how much you need the adapter for a 510 atty. i was pretty pissed when i first started hitting the screwdriver and expected all this greatness and it was weaker then my 510. So i had to go online and wait another week to get the 901 to 510 converter. Also make sure you order those low resistance atomizers they work amazingly and i blow out fat clouds of smoke all day.

i have not tried the xHaler (yet) my favorite HV mods are the puresmoker V2 , the altsmoke silverbullet or the libertyflights Adaptever... all rocking , the Adaptever is 6v , and the others are closer to 5v.
I just got a new MKI from cavecom and they now have the upgraded mechanical switch, come in silver,gold,and black, and can be ordered with whatever atty set up you prefer. I was a SD hold out bec I LOVE the 510 also. Now that I have my gold MKI 510 I could not be happier. (the new MKI's come with 1000mAh 3.6 123a batts) I am a total mark for the SD now. i just got a 510 adapter from goodprophets (dot) com for around $4 , and it's awesome. As far as 901 attys , i'm not sure... all the new 901 attys i have are the same ones that come with the SD , look around and see if you can find an RN-4075 atty.
On that tutorial that Scott made minutes 6:30, and 7:00 and again towards the end in other various places, correct me If I'm wrong, because it's been about six months since I've had any 901's, but I believe that the atty connection is open, at least that's what it looks like in the vid. You've seen it up close so it might be plugged already like the old style 510 batts. Again Thanks.

it can be plugged , and it should not affect the way it vapes at all. I never noticed the hole in the middle of the atty connection before on the MK2 , the original does not have a hole in the middle.
Hello Nick, I'm seriously thinking about getting this after yours & Scott's reviews Looks like a pretty good PV, the only concern I have is and you might be able to help on this is, unlike the Protege, VP1.v1 and my Copper, I noticed that the MK2 looks like it has a open-hole atty. With a manual switch like it has, do you think that it will present any leakage problems? Also, is there anyway to plug up the open hole? Other than that little worry, it looks great. Thanks.
So the MKII uses a 901 atty , the hole in the atty is for air flow , if you plug that hole it wont work. So you have to be a little careful not to completely flood the atty when you are dripping. Hope that helps out
i just got my spade on wednesday based 100% on your review..might get me 100% off the smokes for good hopefully (i keep relapsing and normal 510 and 401 wattage seems to not be enough for me), just wondering if i should jump on a screwdriver for at home use, or jump on a 510 SB at 6v for at home?

have you tried / reviewed the AdapteveR yet? its actually very similar to the SD......same button, solid built etc but it can use a 901, 801 or 510 atomiser, can be used at 3v or 6v and changes in size to suit your vaping needs. if you love the SD then i think you will REALLY love the AdapteveR........especially with the 510 atty which is also my fave :)
both the SD and AdapteveR are in my top 5 fave devices...........great e-cigs.

Wondering if you had any top tips on cleaning out / removing taste from atomisers? I've only got 2 (2 more on order) so, I'm noticing that they are vaping a flavour mix of Choco-Cap-Strawberry or Marlb-RY4-Tob. Any way of freshening them up? I tried steaming over a kettle - seemed to work, but is this good for the atty long term? Cheers!
Steaming works pretty well for cleaning. To remove flavors the best think i have found is to drip a few drops of Glycerin right into the atty , and take a few drags. There will be no flavor and no throat hit , but it helps get the flavor out.
Wanna 510.. buy an adapter. If you have a 510 already and want a 901.. buy an adapter. These things are out there, they are cheap and they are not hard to use. :) Can't really see how the fact that it has one fitting or another really justifies putting this thing down.. it has to have one or the other :) hehe
It's a really nice product.. been vaping on mine for the last 30 hours and no drop in vapour yet. :) That's the best thing about these big-battery mods.. :)
Silly youtube comment limits.. anyway.. also wanted to say that the end cap comes with a lanyard, as well as the neck lanyard, so you are meant to attach the end cap with the little lanyard so you don't lose it. :)
i agree , i do need to get more adapters. But ALL i vape is 510's anymore. So if they offered a 510 model , then i wouldn't have to get anything "extra" to have it fit my needs.
Trog has always been very nice to me , remember he was one of the guys that STARTED big battery mods. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my protege' , but unless you have vaped both of these models , then you can't really compare the 2.
Thanks, I've been waiting for this review from you. I thought it was just a matter of time. For the minimal difference in mah, I think I would prefer the slimmer MK 1. What is unclear to me from your review: is the battery case beefier or just the threads?
both the body and the threads feel beefier to me. The MK1 screwdriver was just a modded flashlight , so it had thin flashlight threads. The MK2 is specifically manufactured to be a PV. So it seems they beefed up the threads and overall construction of the SD.
Cool intro! The button cap does have a strap kinda like the attachments for the lens caps on the older digital cameras. Great review! Nice to see comparison of the Mark I and II side by side!

why are you such a fan of the 510 I find iti the worst atomizer for getting good flavor , the 901 and 801 are much better IMO and I have 510 adpaters for all my devices.
really? that's interesting to me , in my 11 months of vaping i have found that the 801 and 510 produce the best flavor and vapor, the 801 more at high voltages. The new design of the 901 attys are terrible , the old ones performed very well , but these new ones are pretty crappy i have found. But really , whatever works for you is ok with me buddy!

@georgehower yeah you will need a 901 to KR adapter for the cartoz to work. the SD doesn't offer any air flow for the cartoz.

Yeah , there is a hole in the atty connection but i can't see how far down it goes , it could be sealed under there , but i have no way to tell.

I'm not sure what you could use , i used a small piece of silicone that comes with the KR808D-1 cartomizers to plug a few batteries.

Trog has always been very nice to me , remember he was one of the guys that STARTED big battery mods. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my protege' , but unless you have vaped both of these models , then you can't really compare the 2.

Grimm, do you own any protected CR123a batteries. I am wondering how they measure up to the mk2 batts. They look around the same size.

i do have some RCR123a batteries , they are much smaller than the MKII batteries , both shorter and narrower.

Thanks, I've been waiting for this review from you. I thought it was just a matter of time. For the minimal difference in mah, I think I would prefer the slimmer MK 1. What is unclear to me from your review: is the battery case beefier or just the threads?

both the body and the threads feel beefier to me. The MK1 screwdriver was just a modded flashlight , so it had thin flashlight threads. The MK2 is specifically manufactured to be a PV. So it seems they beefed up the threads and overall construction of the SD.

Cool intro! The button cap does have a strap kinda like the attachments for the lens caps on the older digital cameras. Great review! Nice to see comparison of the Mark I and II side by side!

Yeah to me the 510 protege' is pretty much unstoppable. If the MKII had a 510 option it would certainly give the protege' some competition.

why are you such a fan of the 510 I find iti the worst atomizer for getting good flavor , the 901 and 801 are much better IMO and I have 510 adpaters for all my devices.

really? that's interesting to me , in my 11 months of vaping i have found that the 801 and 510 produce the best flavor and vapor, the 801 more at high voltages. The new design of the 901 attys are terrible , the old ones performed very well , but these new ones are pretty crappy i have found. But really , whatever works for you is ok with me buddy!
