Man, '08 and '09 were fantastic Finals, weren't they? And the parallels were bizarre, not least among them the last second save to win the Cup and winning each on the opponents home ice.

Dude, the Wings had 12 more power plays than the Pens did in the series, including the final 2 in this game for the opportunity to tie it. It WAS bullshit, however, that Malkin wasn't suspended after his antics in game 2, and a horrible penalty call in game 3 that allowed Pittsburgh to win it. Other than that there's never an excuse to blow a 2-0 series lead, even if a ref literally pisses in your face.

Just to add to the last part...people ask me now, why didn't Detroit win? Well, first off they just weren't ready to play, you could tell that in the first 10 minutes. Secondly they needed the first goal, then the goal by Talbot killed momentum. We had chances but Pittsburgh and their D was simply impenetrable. Plus of course the crossbar, just the way it goes...but honestly if it wasn't for Fleury that series would've been done in 6. He stole the Cup for them, great job.
