I like this shit, but this is something everybody who has a little spare time could come up with, in this case like 20 years. I just guess varg was a little bored and jammed this shit together, to call him a musical genius isnt right

Hey everybody - I just released my solo album "Mirror Image" that contains electronic upbeat and ambient songs heavily inspired by the ambient musical works of Burzum. If you're interested you can check out the songs on my youtube page, and links to my myspace page and places to download the full album are on my youtube channel as well :) .
Something about this...it just...grabs hold of you and won't let go. You feel the grip tighten, yet it's pleasant and desirable. It's truly incredible.
@kriegkrigTristan Buhahahaha, o my... And You think that I care about this?:) You are pathetic... Just stop to check my channel, It's not very difficult.
@kriegkrigTristan Cause it's my channel, not for anybody else, especially idiots who think that Burzum's music is not for Slavs. You have a problem with this? Sorry, I don't care. Thank You and stop spaming my 'video'. Bye.
Pretty stupid with the "open your mind" part- If I wasn't open minded I would not explore Burzum's music. It is important to be openminded, as well as critical - I was both. But seriously, I do think this is poor compared to his Filosofem black metal aswell as the ambient part of the album, and I think it is dissapointing. In my mind, it sounds like background music to a fantasy game
I'm sorry? You said you "thought he had talent." There is evident musical talent, and I enjoyed this fantasy ambiance. I just didn't like how blunt the comment was. Plus he was limited with what he could use to make music, so I think it shouldn't be critiqued so harshly. Do as you wish, but that's just what I thought.
I knew more about classical music before I dived into Heavy Metal at all. Now, you trace roots from Heavy Metal to Richard Wagner, Power and Neo-Classical Metal to Antonio Vivaldi, and in some cases, Burzum to Beethoven when he was deaf and minimalistic. Symphony 9?
Some Metal-Heads wouldn't know shit about Ambient or Classical if they never heard "The Planets Suite" by Gustav Holst.
I have only just heard Burzum and this is one of the best songs ive heard for a long time, and i thought Norwegan death metal was all hard and loud!!!
@magflue Actually he has played in a death metal band! Old Funeral is the name of the band. I think they were one of the first death metal bands of Norway, started in 1988. He took part in the EP, Devoured Carcass in 1991.

no, metalheads THINK they are classical music fans.
I'm willing to bet everything i own on the fact that if it wasn't for all these black metal artists talking about classical all the time, a lot of these metal heads wouldn't touch classical with a ten foot pole.
so according to what you think is that the fact that I have been practising the clarinett for 11 years in music school(and self taught on piano and classical guitar) all just an illusion and has nothing to do with my interest in music. aswell as the fact that I spend most my time listening to baroque music is also just something in my head because I must be a baroque wannabe fan?
and also that all my friends(metalheads) who also are into classical music (and have been playing instruments from long before they heard about black metal existing) aren't just there when we are listening to classical music togather with great interest, it's all just an illusion?
You sound like you have a pretty cool, but unusual, group of friends to me. Are you European? I know it's more common in Europe for this to be the case.
Bach was a genius, if he lived today then he would quite literally melt the face off every musian currently producing music now, and that is saying something as there are some extemely talented keyboard players who made their way in the 70s and still play music (rick wakeman for example)
Well yes if you compare Varg to Mozart or Bheethoven (especially Mozart ;D) then it's different, however his music builds atmosphere much in the same way and by todays standards, he is quite musically intelligent :D
Not my favorite by Burzum, although this is still great. Wether you hate Varg or love him, you can't deny that this stuff can only be made by a musical genious :D
Hvis Lyset Tar Oss. Aske is a real good album too. i own it and it never gets boring but id love to somehow get a hold of some of his ambient stuff some day.

Well, his music is rooted in his love for norwegian folklore and such, wich i understand being a norwegian myself, so you do have a point, but if youre looking for the full picture of his ideology, read his books, and or interviews.
I suppose I can say I'm a man of few tears. The only thing that has ever made me cry of joy was the Zelda music as a child and later on. But I listened to this over and over again and it had the same effect, and I saw romulux7s comment... What can I say? You know what you're talking bout. Long live Black Metal and Dark Ambient
