I really can't understand why there aren't many dinosaur games, its crazy, 100's of games like COD which get insanely boring after 5 minutes. Why doesn't someone make a game where you play as a baby dinosaur of your choice thats just hatched out of an egg and you have to fight, survive and grow? like a dinosaur RPG, or maybe an ocean game, playing as a Megalodon or Liopleurodon. In my opinion that'd be soooo sweet!
when the raptors jump they're tails should move up like in the jp movies. palaeontologists say that how they balanced themselves out so that they don't smash into things face first

Look, the heavy guy beats T-rex because His weapon is powerful but inaccurate and the T-rex is a big target. The raptor beats the heavy guy because the heavy is inaccurate and the raptor will run circles around him. The trapper beats the raptor because he can trap the raptor effectively, the dilophosaurus beats the trapper because he can sabotage the trapper's net with his spit etc So shutup no team is stronger it is all balanced shut the f*ck up.
@truendymion dinos are pretty strong... maybe thats one of the good things: making more damage to humans than weapons and because of their speed and mobility they can be quite dangerous. in a duel with a human and a dino i would bet that dino would win.
@JOHNFIRE2 Ok that's cool. The videos make the dinos appear to be pretty weak. I noticed they have a sort of takedown. If it works like DeadSpace 2 than it can be really strong with coordinated attacks. Have teammates cover your ass while you maul the opponents.
I love the concept, and the graphics are great, but the dinos don't appear that threatening honestly. Those automatic weapons and explosives just look really powerful, even against the T-Rex. Hopefully the human players are always fewer in number or something.
No this game isn't taking too long. Largest development time is 12 years and just leads to disappointment. The unigine engine is freaking awesome and the alpha gameplay looks good for 2010.

Though to be fair, L4D2 is nowhere near as good as L4D1
@hildegain I played L4D hardcore, it was every day for a year.. It's not the same people still doing the same old same old anymore, I can tell you that(the community was booming back then, now not so much, but of course it's still there, since new players come along all the time..
@TheRiisingSun L4D 1 is still played by a large portion of my friends but they really do play it religiously. We'll see how Primal Carnage does when released :)

This reminds me of AVP2... Just replace the Aliens with dinos and there ya go. Runner = velo, Rex = Queen, etc. So getting this since AVP2 isn't even up anymore, sadly.

I don't know what you guys think or what the final version of the game would look like but playing as a raptor ; it seems to me that the camera is hard to handle and doesn't feel right with taking sharp turns. We all know that you really need agility and be able to look around swiftly and such. Maybe a first person view like with avp if you play an alien?
This looks awsome but a little dull on the weapon front. BUt this is alpha so I understand you guys will add more weapons and tools the humans can use.

@Dipstikk Oh yeah, Todd Marshall's art yes i know about his work and yes his feathered dromeosaurids do look good specially his Utah raptor i like em because as an exemple their front limbs don't seem like almost 70% "converted" into wings, and i like that that's why some pics remind me of wyverns, wyverns are mythological creatures like dragons but while most dragons have four limbs and two wings wyverns only possess two legs and a pair of wings, that's how you usually tell them apart.

Looks to have potential but the animation needs a lot of work.The player shoot fast as hell and there is no camera shake while walking or shooting so it feels like fake.
Also the raptors jumps to high and to fast giving them the sence of being very small like toys, the Trex looks fine..
@ParanormalEnities Camera shake is something that isn't done by most pc games it's more of a console thing thats now being forced into everything and if anything it's just annoying.
@Max1130 I'm not talking about excessive camera shake but subtle to make it feel more natural.When we walk our head doesn't stay stationary but moves a up and down a bit.With no camera shake it gives you the feeling like you are rather hoovering in mid air than walking.
@ParanormalEnities All I'm saying is a lot of pc fps don't have it like I'm pretty sure none of Valve's games have it at all. Plus this is a video from alpha who knows what all they're going to change when it ends up actually coming out.

This reminds me of AVP2... Just replace the Aliens with dinos and there ya go. Runner = velo, Rex = Queen, etc. So getting this since AVP2 isn't even up anymore, sadly.

I don't know what you guys think or what the final version of the game would look like but playing as a raptor ; it seems to me that the camera is hard to handle and doesn't feel right with taking sharp turns. We all know that you really need agility and be able to look around swiftly and such. Maybe a first person view like with avp if you play an alien?

@Dipstikk and @ChaosBW look let's drop it all of us, this is getting pretty stupid you guys like feathered dinosaurs i don't there are alot of people out there that like feathered dinos others don't, when the final game hits we can have all the skins we want in the game so you can have your feathered dinosaurs while we can have our defeathered dinosaurs, and everyone's happy.

To all those complaining about feathers: who cares about feathered dinosaurs, the devs of primal carnage made dinosaurs to look fun and manacing to play, would honestly consider a giant turkey running at you manacing, you can't really take feathers seriously, but here's something new anyone know cares a little bit about dinosaurs WILL research and will eventually learn the truth, that they were feathered and xenomorphs drove them to extinction

@raptros They made them look like lizards. Sorry, that's what the Jurassic Park raptor reminds me of: a lizard. And apparently turkeys and chickens are the only birds with feathers now? Because that's what you're implying here, that we can't base them off of hawks or vultures, maybe crows. Because chickens and turkeys are the only animals you pathetic Jurassic Park fanboys ever seem to reference when trying to convince people that feathers make dinosaurs look goofy.

@raptros Where are you looking? Check out some of Todd Marshall's paleo-art. He does some great paleo-illustration and his feathered dromaeosaurids look really cool.

@Dipstikk Oh yeah, Todd Marshall's art yes i know about his work and yes his feathered dromeosaurids do look good specially his Utah raptor i like em because as an exemple their front limbs don't seem like almost 70% "converted" into wings, and i like that that's why some pics remind me of wyverns, wyverns are mythological creatures like dragons but while most dragons have four limbs and two wings wyverns only possess two legs and a pair of wings, that's how you usually tell them apart.

Looks to have potential but the animation needs a lot of work.The player shoot fast as hell and there is no camera shake while walking or shooting so it feels like fake.
Also the raptors jumps to high and to fast giving them the sence of being very small like toys, the Trex looks fine..

@Max1130 I'm not talking about excessive camera shake but subtle to make it feel more natural.When we walk our head doesn't stay stationary but moves a up and down a bit.With no camera shake it gives you the feeling like you are rather hoovering in mid air than walking.
