  • Yeah, kind of underwhelming to know the composer for Final Fantasy Tactics did this game as well. Aside from 4 tracks or so (including this one), the entire score for this game was pretty forgettable. Too bad

  • I wish the rest of the music in FF12 was as epic and well written as this. This is true Final fantasy music. The rest was of the album was left wanting.

  • Wtf?!No healthbar?!

    INVUNERABILITY?!

...And that's how I lurked around few hours in thinking there would be another way to kill it.

  • @Spikecartesia actually its just that they decided not to show the healthbar, The undying's hp is around 200 000

  • Play this song at any rpg final boss, it fits.

  • Honestly, my favorite final Fantasy final boss, an epic theme for a power crazed emperor, trying to take over the entire land with his Fortress Bahamut, and even using parts of that fortress in his last stand to destroy the resistance that pesters him

  • Am I the only one that thinks 4:20-4:50 is beyond epic? I've heard so many FF Final Boss themes, but this.... just... wow.

Am I crazy? Am I the only one that feels this way?

  • @ThePistlwhipr No your not crazy, this is my favorite part as well

  • @ThePistlwhipr I love it here, but I think that it sounds different and a little better in game versus on the OST.

  • @Thamauturge That's what I always thought, too. In Dissidia, I would always time Gabranth's EX burst right around there, and I thought it was so epic if I time it *Just* as he says "Surrender now, to OBLIVION!!!"

Gabranth is so high tier in Dissidia, and he's also one of my personal favorites. Awesome EX burst (Even though he stole it from Basch's Quickening, if I spelled that right), awesome lines, awesome everything, pretty much.

  • My internet crashed because it couldn't handle the EPICNESS!!

Seriously, one of the best final battle themes ever!

  • i like this Battletheme.

But the old ones (ffIV-FFX) were all a hole different class of game (better)

  • My main party of lv 60s died so I had to call out my lv. 25 Basch to revive everyone which in turn lead to his death then Vaan, who revived Balthier, died, then Balthier who revived Fran also died afterward. Repeat the above for about 5 whole mins and you have my ill prepared yet victorious battle with Vayne. I love FFXII<3

  • one person was owened by vayne

  • Vayne disliked this theme because it's his last one.

  • Le meilleur moment du jeu avec des cinématiques époustouflantes ! J'ai succombé et j'y rejoue :)

  • Use all your characters, not just three. Otherwise, you really will miss out in a lot of fun in the game.

  • I love this game and how u can keep kicking Vayne's ass over and over while listening to this beautiful blood pumping song XD

  • Can someone tell me what part of the game is the theme 4:24-4:50 is? I've had it stuck in my head for the past 2 weeks.

  • @billiam217 It shows up a few times in other songs. Check "Boss Battle" at around 1:30, and a couple times in "The Mosphoran Highwaste". That measure shows up a couple times in other songs, but this is the only song it's featured heavily in. I think I remember reading somewhere that it's supposed to be part of the theme song for the rebellion, but a "Rebels Theme" song never got scored for the game.

  • @JWollenman

Thank you so much. I will look into it. I really enjoyed the musical score of this game. It always reminded me of the score from Final Fantasy Tactics, which I believe, is done from the same composer, and I always enjoyed that kind of music.

  • @billiam217 Well, it IS all the same continuity, being part of the Ivalice Alliance series.

  • the final boss was the only one without a health bar, scared the shit out of me.

then I saw the other uber boss, you know, the one with unlimited health bars?

and I thought to myself whilst being owned.

"y'know? I miss the good old days when all you had to do was go look for the princess in another castle, in those days trolling game producers kept things simple, clean, and still pissed you off while letting you facepalm in shame.

    this- yiazmat- is just cruel..........

  • i beat him at level 60 - 50 without using weapons.

  • I was level 45 when I beat him and it was quite a challenge, obviously it's not going to be hard if you're 99 you morons, nothing is, not even Yiazmat

  • In my one save where everyone is lvl 99 I wanted to fight him once an I lost... :(

  • I find the Undying the easiest boss in the final battles of the game.

  • The final boss is very hard in a challenge !

  • @stevenn33 not at all !!!

  • @DaLadiesFirst1 In a No Licence Board, because you have not Reddas, it's much hard to beat this boss. In a Low Level, the first time, he is hard, very.

For me, it's a overestimated boss.

  • @stevenn33 i'd won him LLC without any problems, should be kinda hard nlb, u're right

  • I hope that this Piece will be used in a DISTANT WORLD 3-Album :)

  • Nice Emotional Music,I like this sooo^^

  • Boss fight was a bit underwhelming because there was SO much extra stuff in the game that almost impossible not to be overleveled.

    Still a fun game nonetheless.

  • I must say that he is a little too easy when you are at level 50 and over. But great theme.

  • Finally I get to kick some politician's ass !!

  • I went to fight him lvl 43-45. Epic Epic Battle.

Just like the Omega Mark and Ultima at lvl 55-56.

    Awesome awesome stuff...

I LOVE THIS SONG. I love the soundtrack, I love it's gameplay and I love it's storyline.

  • They should have done with him what they did with Sephiroth in FFVII, level him along with your level, so the battle is made tougher no matter you party's level :)

  • lol. came to Vayne at lvl 99 Vaan and Basch.....took him out bare handed....geez. He's way to under leveled for the show he'd put for us on the cut scenes before the fight....I remember I was so pumped :D and the theme...!!omg this theme, was epic on my first play through!! XD

  • Imagine how bad this would have sucked if he was riding Yiazmat XDDD

  • @Rexxanus Vayne: "Let's roll."

  • Goose bumps 4:10 ^^

  • @chinessgirl OH snap i got em' to XDD

  • which soundtrack song is the normal battle theme?

  • @hmnhntr There are actually no "normal battle" theme, since the turn-based-random battles were scraped. But there is a Boss Battle theme and an Esper Battle theme, which are awesome by the way.

The Boss Battle often have the name "Underneath The Flames", but in the soundtrack it's just "Boss Battle". Hope this helps =)

  • @OrAeForeverAmazing so if i was just wandering around and started fighting people, the music wouldn't change?

  • @hmnhntr No

  • 3:25 to 4:50, that part is so epic while Vayne is using Giga Flare Sword

  • my party was level around 40-50 and i still beat this boss

  • this was such a great boss theme, the subtle transitions into really intense sections (especially around 4+ minutes) are just awesome

This OST is kicking all other OST's asses!

  • @Disturbinged someone showed this video to Vaan...XD

  • @Disturbinged Oh look, one dislike.

  • @DrolKeegEht fuck likes/dislikes

    This song is incredible.

  • @evilanimemonkey Agreed.

I'm currently playing through FF12 and I don't see what everyone hates about it... Besides Vaan and Penelo. And by the way, I HATE most FF games with a burning passion.

  • @DrolKeegEht I am in love with this game. Everything about it screams masterpiece in my opinion. The music is awesome (even though people keep bitching about it), the graphics are good for a PS2 and the storyline is just epic. Lol, and I agree with you last sentence too.

  • @Disturbinged

There's one dislike now, wtf :(

  • @maxo776 im pretty sure the undying did it!

  • 4:05 - 4:51 Best part of the song. You get a little bit of the melodies from the village and overworld themes mixed in there. Reminds me of the same music direction in the last two battles in Chrono Trigger. The music will then start to feel pleasant and uplifting right before it drops down to an epic battle to the death.

  • @agetro82 That part has some this games main theme, which is most prominent in the song's climax :)

  • This helps me study

  • 4:16 - 4:50 is the best part

  • Deathbringer, Ragnarok, Excalibur, Scathe, three lv. 66's is my way to victory. ( I fought Gilgamesh so that's why I was so high.)

  • when i got here my peoples lvls were over 80 i pwned the shit out of him lol

  • @333ville I had to just solo it with Ashe just for the final fight to be interesting at lvl 99 lol

  • @333ville I know that feel, I think I might have fucked with the system even further and had most of the legendary weapons. Its especially fun getting the zodiac spear asap and then just 1-hiting the next two zone-al areas.

  • 3:11 to 3:18 Lightsaber swinging

  • This soundtrack makes me feel, like you have fought your enemy thousand times and he/she isn't still beaten, and now he/she won't reborn again. For Freedom!

  • This soundtrack is an absolute masterpiece, as is the game, in my opinion.

  • I'd say that story line wise, FFVIII, FFIX and FFXII are absolutely on the top on my side : )

I feel like we're seeing the FFXII story thought Vaan's eyes, not neccessarily as the main character in the story itself though, he doesn't take the major actions and all. Balthier is obviously quite sure of himself being the main character. hahaha.

  • @MrsBlueLove That's mostly because Basch's character was initally set to be the main protagonist, though the executives felt that the fanbase might not have accepted an older character taking that privilege. So, Vaan became the game's Ishmael; not really contributing all that much in terms of the story, but he's the player's viewpiece for those who do.

  • I heard a little bit of Exdeath's theme at the beginning.

  • Ahh... I remember my first playthrough of this game. Getting to this fight, I was dreadfully underleveled (Level 50 only) as well as having some pretty weak armor and not-all-to-powerful weapons and I fought a fierce 20 minute battle with this guy.

This theme seriously gets the blood pumping and is one of the best final boss themes I have heard in a video game.

  • @RadiantBahamut level 50 isnt underleveled. i did the whole thing in about 15 minutes with a level 42 team only using vaan, ashe, and basch. without really trying. if you set all characters as white mages/fighters almost every fight is pretty easy.

  • @RadiantBahamut uh you know you werent really so underleveled, i was lvl 40's ish and beat him in less time, but its the equipment and spells you use that determine victory

  • @RadiantBahamut I had the exact same experience, this song makes me flashback to it every time! One hell of a fun boss, so many close calls where I thought 'crap it's over' but then found some way to save the last standing character by a thread.

  • @RadiantBahamut Well this is how crazy I am... I thoroughly enjoy long and drawn out battles (mostly for the battle theme) so while I was around level 90-ish, I was using only basic weapons (weakest) and about intermediate armor. I also removed all my gambits except for attack. I did all my healing manually to keep from being bored, since you can basically start a fight and walk away from the game while it finishes itself. I think it lasted around 30 minutes xD

  • @RadiantBahamut dude... i did it at lv 46

  • @RadiantBahamut when i got here, i was level 42-49 and i had no problem.

  • @RadiantBahamut Actually, I am currently level 48-50 with my 3 main characters (Vaan, Basch and Balthier) and I can defeat him fairly easily. As long as I can dispel his Faith/Bravery in time anyway...

  • I do not really like Sakimoto's Score to Part 12. But holly Shit!!! This Peace is amazing!!! o.O

  • I love this game!! I don't actually know WHY do people NOT like it! It has a totally new combat system (which I love), it has good character, wonderfull music, no interruptions of monsters (finally!!) so you can choose which one to fight and wich one to leave alone, nice different worlds, the gambit system which is pretty cool.. It's wonderfull!! I love it!!!

  • @love4nana707 I'm Agree with you, this game is awesome, the combat system is one of the best in FF but maybe the story and the characters are a little..you know, there is no a real main character, and WTF happens in rozaria and the occurian too much questions without asnwers

  • @autonom Well yeah I know, there's Vaan that's the main character but it doesn't feel like it.. He's just too ordinary and if it wasn't for his brother he wouldn't have a story at all! XD But besides that it is a wonderfull game!

  • @love4nana707 The reason Square established Vaan as the main character was to sort of expand on how HUGE the gravity of the worlds plight was. Vaan is just an ordinary kid who gets swept up into an adventure he always longed to experience. I found that it makes him very easy to relate to (being a teenager of the same age as him :P). If you think about it, the story would not be as awe inspiring if you were a raging badass like Basch. Plus he can conjure freakin tornadoes! Whats not to like!

  • @Stellarcirclefive Mmm... I guess you're right! And now that I think about it it's actually a nice change. We've always had the badass leading characters and now we have this innocent teenager that, as you said, gets swept in all this crazy adventure! Yeah, It's not that bad after all I guess!

  • @Stellarcirclefive ya know, the reason I hate Vaan is for being tidus only more gay looking plus all negative aspects X10 and lowering the good things.

  • @thebirthdaybomb, FFXI was online, not PS2. Unless your referring to it's sequel.

  • @ultimecia1000 FFXI was on ps2,pc and 360....

  • As much as I love my SNES, I think I have to give the nod to the PS2 FFs. X, XI, and XII were all so fantastic, each in their own right.

  • Real part begins at 4:10

  • This game will be the last REAL Final Fantasy.....

  • No matter how many times I'm berated for it I will never stop loving 12, it's the only reason why I still have faith that S-E will continue to make thought provoking games like this.

  • @TheDynastQueen

I agree with you there. Not only is XII my favorite game in the series (gameplay and story wise) but it is also the game that convinced that Square was going to finally do something new and stop reusing the old battle system, summons, etc. I liked the other FF games, but after nine, I started to think the series was getting really repetitive and uncreative in some respects. This game is the same for me as SH Shattered Memories was, being the first SH game to use new ideas after 4

  • @MrJadecurtiss:Yes. I enjoyed the new direction that XII took because it required the player to think about what exactly is going on and why in the story and with development instead of having it hand fed to them. I don't mind maintaining tradition as I love 9 and 6 but XII showed that you can adhere to it without doing a copypasta with different faces. The majority of fans may like the latter but I don't it and I love it.

  • Doctor Cid was framed

  • I agree with you Canadish, I played to this game and finished it... but i haven't felt the magic, the Final Fantasy orgasm.

That's really too bad, cause they had goods ideas... but still something is missing.

To me, the top 3 is: FF7 and 8 (I can't say which one is the best, they're both amazing) and FF10. Masterpieces for life.

  • Seriously, I don't understand why so many FF fans (.??) hate this game so much..

I loved it and I'm a huge FF fan too..

Some things were different, but that's really not a reason to say the game sucked.. The music is wonderful as well!

I really love this game! I love all FFs

And also thanks for posting this epic and awesome track!! :)

  • @NickyIsCrazyButSweet Oh my god what did you do?!?!

    >:C

  • @funnyhomeboy1 .... wtf!?

    D<

  • @NickyIsCrazyButSweet Lol my bad, I thought you had copied and pasted my comment from NickAura's. I read the intro and I was like : >:O

    Then I made the comment.

Then I read the rest and I was like < :O

  • @funnyhomeboy1 Ahh okay I understand lol <3 I'm sorry I kinda got upstet with you x3

  • @NickyIsCrazyButSweet

Personally, I really liked the game, but I was still dissapointed. It didnt have the Final Fantasy Magic.

The last one that did was 10 if you ask me. They all felt colder and more empty after that.
