  • give me a fucking break. The reason is simple, taxes. The Canadien economy is dependant on high taxes. And gasoline has; the federal sales tax, goods and services tax, gasoline tax, provincial tax, HST,and more I can't recall the title. If just cars and trucks where replaced with electric vehicles our economy would suffer.

  • so..... we had these in 1993 right? right? come on think hard i know im not the only one who watched tv in '93

  • Unbefukinglevible, Canadian Governmentalcases! these roadworthy car should be availible to us cheeper than a shipped one. Dounchuthink?

  • @truesprocket They are not roadworthy cars. It is a sheet metal shell with minimal safety standards. TC has created a class for such vehicles called Low-Speed Vehicles restricted to 32km/h. The provinces decide where these can be driven. There are no restrictions on electric cars at the federal level. They are admissible as long as they meet all safety standards. Now whether the safety standards applicable to passenger cars are becoming too stringent is another issue. TC mandate is protect lives

  • I believe there is no law in Canada and the US that prohibit to make an electric car conversion in your own car...at this point the only way to stop this government crap is that everybody start converting their own cars into electric and don't tell them about it...let them think that your car is a regular car while is an electric one..

  • Man I thought the politicians in the US suck.

  • jeeze... like it says.... harper says we cant meet the protocol and they wont let clean cars like this run.... but we can get all these freking useless hybrids..... ( I aint no enviro hippie but stuff like this bothers me.)

  • Hey Zenn...move your operation to Danville, Illinois...they are desperately seeking a car company! Tax breaks, the works!

  • The answer is simple: oil must be at $80 to make the oil shale production breakeven and BP, Exxon, and the Canadian Govt have billions invested in oil shale. Electric cars are terror to oil companies especially those invested in canadian oil shale.

  • WHY you dont sell hashish, it makes more money and you dont need license for that either.

  • hey retards, why do you read up on the product. if you did, you may have found out that it's a slow piece of shite that tops out at 40 kph. Tell me where you would use this car anywhere where you couldn't use a golf cart? Maybe if it could break 50kph it would raise an eyebrow, but that stupid thing is destined to do laps around trailerparks and retirement homes. Tell them to design a REAL electric car. not a golf cart with doors and a windscreen

  • Fucking greedy oil companies. Grrrr!

  • Big surprise that Harry Baergen is involved with this, someone needs to teach that guy how to interpret regulations and hold him accountable for his crimes. IMO, Transport Canada is working for big manufacturers only, they've made it their duty to restrict free trade and liberty. Fuck you Harry!

  • This news story is a media spin. LSV is a regulated class of vehicle. They must be restricted to 32 km/h and don't require stringent safety standards passenger cars require. As such, provinces who license the vehicles (Transport Canada doesn't license vehicles) can decide where LSVs can be used. This Zenn meets no where near the safety standards for passenger car. Although when restricted to 32km/h they can be considered LSVs, which they were.

  • these cars will help save the earth f-cking inbreds are money crazy for oil

  • UnFLICKING believable. I thought Canada was above this sort of thing, I guess not.

Maybe as Canadians, we should be watching our own countries demise instead of our neighbour's to the south.

  • @xmozzazx we are all one pussball

  • @xmozzazx Yea and what is Harper doing at this time for this issue.. Did I waste my vote?

  • It looks like the regulatory body in Canada is being influenced by the car manufacturers. We had the same problem in the UK and we went bust. Though not in the same field as Zenn ( we imported cars into the UK ) our regulatory body kept moving the goal posts every time we complied with their requirements. The same unfortunately is happening to Zenn.
