its about these two alchemists called edward elric and alphanose elric ^^ ed is called the fullmetal alchemist and he has a metal arm and leg. al is his little brother and his soul is trapped inside a hollow suit of armor. they're practically despised by the other alchemists because of something they tried to do in the past.
i dont rly know who the girl is because im new to fma, but i advise you to watch or read it, its really good :D
