  • hes just on snow..?

  • This dumbass forgot that the first thing about driving is "NEVER BRAKE WITH THE LEFT"

  • @elmotores

He is trying to show that IF the gas pedal was stuck, you could override the throttle by simply using the brake pedal, and since its not stuck, he must hold both pedals

  • @serge933 True, my bad. I didn't understand what the video was about.

  • If i'm correct, this still allows you to press the brake and gas to spin out the rear wheels? I haven't tried it on my 335i, nor do i plan on.

Also, if you're going to try this at home, wait till the temp needle starts moving. I bet this car has <1200 miles and isn't even done with its break in.

  • BMW The Ultimate Driving Machine.

    Mercedes-Benz Unlike Any Other.

  • this is dumb...just don't press the gas pedal and brake pedal at the same time...simple enough.....nothing wrong with toyotas...just people can't drive anymore

  • @kilgoja this cuts throttle when you press on the gas if you're moving with speed. On a toyota avalon, the braking distance is 4 times what it is when WOT is applied the same times as full brakes.

Don't talk about other people's driving skills, they obviously understand more than you do.

  • see... this is what happen when companies put a new crazy feature in a car... everybody wants to play with it....!!!!!!!!

  • so ur foot was still on the gas pedal while u were braking?and after u stopped.and if ur on a closed road, why is there a car behind u,and one driving by in the background?

  • Or should I say 14 Lexus IS owners watched this video?

  • 14 Toyota owners watched this video

  • Don't try this at home !!!!!???

How can we try this at home ? any one ?

    awesome clip BTW

  • @deadzone11 if uve got a really long driveway!?!?lol

  • This will decrease reliability since it creates another point of failure. If the brake pedal switch is bad then the whole car is undrivable instead of just the brake lights not working.

  • Audi, VW, Porsche and Mercedes all have this feature as well. It's part of the Bosch(German) engine management systems.

Why hasn't NHTSA mandated that this type of safety feature be on ALL new vehicles sold in the US?

Probably because it's too busy looking the other way so it's employees can stake out future jobs in the Auto industry. What a sick fucking joke on the motoring public.

  • WTFS?

  • LOL BMW mocking Toyota

  • Renault F1 later came up with a front axle/differential design that carried the excess braking force from the inside front wheel to the outside front wheel to prevent lockup of the inside front wheel and reduce braking distance in turn entry. This, too, was banned.

    THE SEASON STARTS! woohoo.

  • For a long time F1 drivers were able to outperform ABS but when ABS tech matured and F1 drivers could use it to advantage (along with active suspension and traction control) it was decided to outlaw it (along with active suspension and part of traction control) to make the driver a more important factor in the sport.

  • Poor car..... =[

  • someday, i'll own a m3.

  • @rayj778 someday, i'll own you

  • i doubt it, i bet the only thing you drive is a dildo.

  • own

  • If you don't know how to turn off your engine or put your car in neutral and apply brakes and/or handbrake you really deserve to die and the world is a better place without people like you.

  • Someone needs to post a video on how to shift into neutral and/or shut the ignition off when the accelerator (sticks?)

  • you don't need a clutch to shift into neutral

  • I AGREE but power steering isn't that important when you are rolling. and regardless the brakes still work. and yeah shifting into neutral is very good or off ignition. anything besides keeping a car running or braking while in gear. How stupid are people?

  • but i have to say if you get rid of the safty devices and crap and keep it for mechanical purposes the computers fine but still i am an american but i love the european cars but it is nice driving a old masseratii or even a alfa romeo

  • @KHRAZYIE1 have you ever driven a car without power steering? You certainly won't crash instantly, but saying it's not important isn't true either.

also, a lot of these affected vehicles have electronic ignition systems, it's not unreasonable to consider that electronics failure affecting throttle could affect engine shutdown.

  • @kittensof1984 Yes I have driven a car without power steering which is not that hard. Now if you mean a car with power steering but while the ignition is off, the answer to that is yes also. It is considerably harder. My point is that if your accelerator sticks chances are you are moving and steering is the least of your worries while you are rolling. If you are at a standstill then turning an unpowered steering wheel is a battle, but certainly not that hard when you are rolling. cont.

  • Even if you have push button ignition and in the highly unlikely event you can[t kill the power there is no accelerator on the planet that can stop the common sense solution of slapping the shifter, manual or auto, into neutral. There is no excuse for these crashes. If a person does not know how to do that they should not be driving. It is so simple to defeat a "stuck" accelerator and i feel no sympathy for the idiots that let it defeat them. The truth hurts.

  • turning of the engine does not work. however shifting into neutral should work and I have no Idea why he didn't do it and claimed it would have been "dangerous".

  • So no left foot braking i guess

  • lrn 2 manual. I have a third pedal whose sole function is to override the the gas pedal. Much more fun too.

  • so u cant brake launch it?

  • german cars > rest of world. simple as that. german makes the best cars ever.

  • "were gonna look at how big douchebags we are here"

  • Who cares, the Sudden Unintended accel phenomenon is a myth! Just a way for ppl to try to litigate their way out of payments.

If Im driving "The Ultimate Driving Machine" Im gonna wanna be able to brake launch, and brake throttle through corners...boo for electronic nannies and ppl who are stupid enough to think they are a substitute for learning to drive your machine. It's a sport car not a baby cradle! Weak sauce!

  • how much is Toyota paying you?

  • just kick out the computers on these cars and bring it back to the muscle car era hell yeah

  • @porethoose No the problem is people don't drive manuals in the US. Clutch solves many problems. Too bad most Americans don't know what exactly it is.

Besides modern cars > muscle cars. DTM, Lemans, Super GT use computers for a reason. Look at the difference between a ZR1 and Dodge Challenger if you don't believe me.

  • @chrismissjoy

Um...this isn't a fake thing. A family in California was actually killed in a car crash, due to a shifted mat, which stuck the accelerator. This came before the sticky accelerator pedals, which have had a few small and safe cases.

  • brake launch, and brake throttle make no sense if you have no control of the clutch. However I assume german engineers have perfected their cars tho so that this also works on automatics.

  • Just another way to ruin the fun of driving.

  • UHH duhh. If the accelerator sticks, why can't you turn off the ignition immediately? I never seen an accelerator that works without power,

  • @KHRAZYIE1

Well, the bad thing about shutting off the ignition is that first, you will have a hard time shutting it down in a modern push-button car, and even if the engine does shut down, you lose your power steering, brake assist, etc. So the best thing is to shift into neutral for automatics, and open the clutch for a stick.

  • personally i dont like brake override. i think people should just learn how to drive. when accelerator get stuck, it isnt like you can do anything about it.

  • i love the 6 series

  • how is he driving!?!?

the key isnt in the little slot!

haha im just wondering, its weird

  • keyless ignition... meaning... the car will sense ur keys in ur pocket and there's a button u can push to start the engine.

  • Comfort Access option allows driver to have it in pocket, along with door unlocking when walking up to vehicle.

  • its touch start, pretty common these days

  • fuck that i wanna do brake torques at 60

  • whats the point of this video? to make the lower income familie's luxury car's seem even worse? i didnt even know rich ppl 'behaved' this way. were on a closed road? sure. if we wanted to, we wouldve researched this system from bmw dudes

  • This video might as well be entitled:

    Suck it, Toyota. Love, BMW.

  • BMW>toyota

  • thats just something else to go wrong. Also what if you need to depress the brake while the throttle is open. It says it wont let you do that wtf.

  • Fail Videos!! @ My Channel!!

  • Hey cool BMW using youtube to attack Toyota!

  • So no more Heel and Toe, in a BMW?

  • rich basterds.

  • i'm not sure I would like that option for me. For my wife and kids for sure but not me.

  • I love the way BMW's sound

  • BMW that's real quality like Mercedes too.

  • Am I wrong or is there no key in the ignition just below the start button?

Now wtf did these guys do to the car of their dad?

  • @superfennek there is no key to this car. u see the button at the "wood-like" design to the instrument board? its common for new cars :)

  • Probably he has the key less entry system that you can start your car without the key into.....

  • Ok Tom, what we're going to do here is make a crappy BMW commercial in light of all the Toyota problems going on.

  • lol

  • the new world order is upon us all..our republic is under attack..get informed and stand up..check out my page for info

  • sucks for the person who is gunna buy that bmw as "brand new" lol

  • ABS is bullshit you fucking moron? You have no idea what you talking about you self-assured little prick. You are a complete waist of skin and organs.

Try releasing the brake and control your braking force when going at 150 in a real emergency situation. All you got time for is hit the pedal as hard as you can and pray for a fucking miracle. You idiot. Go back to school.

  • My point proven. You dont know shit, I race cars for a living, I have licenses to a million different racing classes, etc. But fuck what i say hoenstly im a guy on youtube. But your telling me the guys at SCCA and BMW CCA racing schools dont know what the fuck there talking about?

Of course its an important saftey feature because guys like you dont know shit. You NEVER want to engage ABS because your passing the cars limits thus increasing braking distance.

  • Its there as an ASSIST to make up for people who dont know what there doing. Or normal everyday people like some grandma who doesn;t know about grip levels, trail braking, feathering the brakes, lock up, etc.

Heres fact cause its the only thing that will get through if you hit the brakes panickly and not smoothly they will not work as effectively.

  • Another thing when your about to crash at 150 you dont sit and hope for the best. You slow down kncoking off as much speed as possible keeping the wheel as striaght as possible. Then you pick a point and put your car down crashing it on purpose. Guess what you do next? On impact i slam my righ tfoot to the floor and go WOT.

Explain to me why i do those things?

  • ....the point is: it seems that Toyota does NOT have such a system.......at least that is what i saw a few ago in the Wall street journal. Stepping on the brakes cuts the engine output with this system.....makes sense and should be an easy thing to install........... Toyota? where are you?

  • Need clarification: Dont BM's have ABS as standard in all of their models since some time?? Why the hell were his tires screeching like demons burnin' in the inferno??!!!

  • @ashrafnfs

Because ABS holds them at the very edge of grip, and if the tire's condition is off any, you will get a tiny bit of slippage, but it's normal.

  • I dont believe so, ABS acts when you go over your grip level. It works by staggering the pressure from the pump which is exactly the same thing as pumping your brakes just done by simulation. ABS works by keeping the tires moving which allows the car to maintain grip and no lock up the wheels.

  • ABS is bullshit for people that cant drive true fact whether the next tom, dick and harry says so or not. His tires where scretching cause he just slammed the pedal to the ground like some house wife in her boyfriends M3 which locks up the well. The ABS system trys to ASSIST you by HELPING correc tthe mistake. A real driver would release the pedal upon hiss to let the tires regain some speed and then continue on to the threshold.

  • ABS is not bullshit and it's not for people that can't drive.....it's a very important safety feature. And trying to release the brake pedal in order to gain grip like a ,,real" driver doesen't help you as much as ABS. If you have to do a panic brake you won't have time to think to release the brake pedal to gain that grip and you will eventually colide and die :D . oh and another thing if ABS is bullshit why is it standard on every car available today ?

  • ABS is there for people who drive to commute and transport things. Which is fine, no one has to know race car driver techniques but if you want to survive you shouldn't be told these things are there to save you. There their to help save you when you fuck up.

  • There is no driver in the world which can match the stopping distance of ABS. Nice try tho.

You should get your facts right and stop believing what you learned 20 Years ago.

  • @mo1elftausend

Professional drivers in track prepped cars would beg to differ.

  • no.

  • @mo1elftausend

ABS works by slamming on the brakes as hard as possible, then when the wheel sensors detect that the wheel is skidding, to release brake pressure, rinse, repeat. This is inefficient because there is time when the tire rubber is not fully gripping the ground (i.e. skidding), and therefor not at the maximum level of deceleration. Same concept as how burning out is not the fastest way to accelerate.

  • I believe F1 cars don't have ABS systems for weight reduction/ rules don't allow them.

But you are right if the tire is not fully gripping the ground ABS will start to work and still bring you to a safe stop. Without ABS if you push the break to hard you cannot release the brake pressure as exact and fast as sensors can.

So a car with ABS is always superior. With the perfect driver the system does not activate itself.

  • @mo1elftausend

I'm done trying to explain this to you. I suggest you research how ABS works.

  • Done:

"Finally, for race enthusiasts, who still do not believe, consider that ABS has been introduced in nearly all major forms of asphalt racing (such as Formula 1) and subsequently banned. These are the most skilled drivers in the world, yet ABS proved to be too much of a competitive advantage against non-ABS equipped cars, hence the ban."

  • LOL

  • @mo1elftausend

A good driver can 'feel' the wheels about to lock up, and manually modulate the brake pressure, without having to rely on sensors or electronics.

This is the reason no race car (F1, Touring, Rally, NASCAr, etc) has ABS.

  • I explain further. You would need at least 2 different break pedals (for the front and the rear axis) and lightning reflexes to achieve near abs breaking distance.

How do you want to keep all 4 wheels at the limit with just 1 break pedal ?

  • @mo1elftausend

Front/Rear is done on race prepped cars via what's called 'brake bias'. If you google F1, Rally, etc steering wheels, you'll see a knob where the driver can control the difference in brake pressure depending on the conditions, which keeps all 4 wheels close to the limit, although by the nature of decelerating object, the front will always have more pressure. this is why front axle has bigger brakes.

As far as reflexes.... have you ever seen Schumacher driver?

  • Yes all BMWs since the e36 and probably some e30s too have ABS. However PM me if you want to learn how to remove the ABS or traction control systems.

  • Whats the big deal here? Audi has had the same system for years...

  • What you really expect when you pay so little money for a car ?! Not because all expensive car is never have problems , but when you pay so little money something in your head shod start to think that car parts is not cheap , car warranty is not cheap , look up why Toyota start to sale they cars so cheap !! That my make you understand that !!

  • I own a 335i, love it, drives great and its pretty damn quick

  • I want a BMW 3-series(1999-up) but damn there expensive(for my budget)

and the awsome thinge about most Bmw there RWD(with traction control and maybe LSD). Maybe 1 day.

  • i have a rav 4 2005 toyota

  • fake.

  • Impressive!!

  • This just means the cars behind you will crash into you. That means all you people who don't have this car should have sufficient distance between you.

  • what the HELL.. i want your car now.. NOW NOW NOW .. buy me one

  • 335 nice

  • Just watching the video made me become a chain smoker!

  • fucking shit

i wish ur car explodes up in ur stinky face

oh shit penis ass hole dick tits shit

  • so i cant rev match while breaking?

  • Sucks huh?

  • Now what happens when you're driving at a fast speed trying to evade someone, there's someone in the car with a gun at your head. They push the break and you both go through the windshield

  • Seat belt.

  • Awesome overreaction to Toyota using cheap parts in their cars. Try to track or autocross a car that does this. The Joy of driving is dead.

  • It's in a BMW. They can tell the difference between spirited driving and trying to regain control of a runaway engine.

  • The family that died in the Toyota runaway engine crash would like to have a word with you about 'the joy of driving'. They said they'll see you in your nightmares tonight.

  • Finally a video! Thanks man. I've always been curious. Apparently, this system hasn't interfered with the fun of burnouts, simple drifts, and toe-and-healing; that's a plus from me.
