I put eggs in my dogs food, and mix it very well, and his fur comes out very shiny, and not itchy. He is about eight lbs so, when his skin gets dry it spreads. So lately I have been using Eggs, and Oatmeal Shampoo. He is a French Bulldog Mix with Chihuahua. So it was definite that he was going to have itchy skin.
If you comb out your dog with a wire brush before you bathe him he will have a bad reaction to the warm water because his skin will have microscopic tears in it. When it dries with a hair dryer the tears swell and "that" is what causes the itching. The remedy is "do Not" comb your dogs hair before a bath, only use cool water to very gently wash him (dont use your fingernails) and let him air dry. A viniger rince 25% & 75% water will also sooth the skin and get rid of flees to boot.

The most helpful thing for dogs skin is to give them fish oil. They need the essential fatty acids in it and it often cures itchy skin syndrome
