  • all that?alli need is 2 12 volt supply adapters.like a cell phone adapter or modem adapter anything like that.

  • I have an idea to dismantle an older computer, to fabricate into a boombox with a car audio head unit.

  • fuckin hippie music!!!!! fuck u hippie!

  • lol i did this with a 12 volt 7.5 amp transformer works nice

  • Nice set up, you should incorporate all that into your car!

  • your dumb

  • it can use adepter ?

  • nice, would like to see it all boxed up....

  • all that just to run a car stereo? ... i was gonna think about doing this then i thought nahhhhh, i want a CD car stereo for making noise music with scratched CD's on purpose but now i see its more effort than its worth lol

  • Hey how did you hook it up iv got lots of stereo and comp parts and want to build a stereo for my tool box

  • I've got a 4 channel 240 watt amp and was wondering what amp and wattage power supply I need. also you can't bridge the amp (whether or not that makes a difference)

  • strait out question could you hook 4 normal car speakers (kenwood) 3 ways (tweeter bass and treble all in one) into a computers headphone jack and run them off it?

  • @blueeyesseto yes, you need an amp with enough channels, and a red/white rca cable with a 1/8 inch or 3.5 mm headphone jack output...

  • what about the ground for the amp?

  • can you run a stock radio to a power supply

  • Nice!

  • a boombox sounds better, lol

  • where did you get the amp? and what kind is it? cost?

  • The fan for a load seems unnecessary

  • @bamfan2044 i agree as if you have good wiring and connections then its likely to be stable enough.

  • You barely have anything running though dude, get some subs and see if the PSU heats up or not.

  • do your settings stay when you switch off power from the power supply? i just hooked up some car audio in my room, but when i cut power to the cd deck, i lose all my settings. i have the constant line and the switched line hooked up to the same power coming from the power supply. any help would be amazing cause i cant seem to figure this out.

  • @iPlayTheDrums07 There isnt any way to keep your settings on your cd player. When your cd player is in your car, it is always using your battery even when the car is off, to keep your time and settings. The computers power supply does not store any energy, so when you shut it of you will lose all the settings because there isnt any power stored in the unit. Why dont you just turn off the cd player and let the power supply stay on?

  • @delucadaniel1 actually there is. Use a 9v battery and clip. Connect the + wire to the constant on in the radio, and the - wire to ground wire.

  • when I hooked up my stereo in my room and connected my subwoofer (to an amp) I couldn't hit ANY lows. any help??

  • you will NEVER get a good sound unless you put a GOOD power supply on it

  • Hey rumble quick question. To hook up the deck to the amp would be straight foward as if you were to hook up a deck in a car amirite?

  • Music of this video is made by queensryche btw...

  • you know wht is Really Easy, goin to canadian tire spend 10 Bucks on a charger and there you go plug the charger into the wall (on the cd deck put the Red and Yellow wires together! and then put them 2 wires to the + wire on the charger then the black to the - wire) and Thats how you hook a deck up in a room.. i have done it check my vids on ull see my Dvd decked hooked up to sum speakers

  • portable if you walk around with a long extension cord. i recommend > 500 ft. with a belt clip cable reeler for your comfort & leisure.

  • @chrisbx1975x Hes going to build it into standing speaker that he can bring to partys with him and plug in. Smart ass.

  • @ProSkateNate90 cry me a river, cunt.

  • please can you post a simple tut on how to do this if it is not hard to do - This is exactly what i wanna do!

  • that's to much shit ....just get a radio .....

  • @juvestyles LOOOOOOOOL

  • can i ran two power supplies on one amp?

  • Well a 550 watt powr supply do it for an amp?

  • can u fit that on pc case

  • OMG! Made lots of "beer money" 20-30 years ago building similar custom units! Sometimes AM/FM/Cassette with CB Radio for truckers (lighter cord, SWR Meter, & antenna jacks in the side). Plop it on the seat of a truck they were driving, hook up the two magnet-mount antennas, plug in 12V and all set. Some radio/cassette models, DC-powered (lead-acid gel batts) with AC chargers for construction crews. Metalheads like me loved the gel-batt ones at the beach! Great Queensryche tune! Major flashback!

  • Did you use an antenna?

  • mines a pioneer deck with a 250 watt amp and works just fine and another to a 250 watt amp works just fine

  • i've got a power supply and i've used it to power a 600 watt kenwood amp in the past, its just lying around now and i was wondering, you kno the yellow wire which is the +12v and the black ground one, to which wires do i connect them to on the headunit( deck ) to get it to work ?

  • For a head unit, any 300-350w power supply is fine. For an amp you'll need at least a 600w supply with at least 20-22amps on the 12v rail. It should tell you on the power supply specs. Also, connect a case fan to the power supply to create a load. this should keep the unit stable. I've run this set up for over 3 hours with no problems with surges or heat. I'll be putting it all in a box this weekend. I'll post another vid when it's all done.

  • @rumblephish12r your a funny person you can run 2 power supplys and take the grounds out of the plugs and run em in series at 15.45VDC's and have alot more stable power or just with 2 power supplys run em in parrael

  • @rumblephish12r really? my 500W amp is running on a 305 w power supply with a 300 watt subwoofer, no problems at all, other than the small gauged wire im going to replace.

  • i have a 3200 car amp. when i hook up in 300w psu. it is in protect mode. but when i remove the fuse. it becomes normal....help me please to solve this problem,,

  • @rumblephish12r acutaly you should be running 30+ amps for cleaner power. I currently have a psu pushing 18amps on my 350 rms sub, 350= 29.16 amps for my sub. Now this is rated at rms if were to go to its peek watt which is rated at 700 i would need 58amps. In the end I went for a 54amp psu ; )

  • It's actually very easy. Using an ATX pc power supply you first have to jumper the 24 pin connector at the on/off wire. This is the GREEN wire on the connector. You can simply take an 18g wire and connect the green lead to on of the black leads (ground). This will turn on the power supply. After that just wire the deck or amp to any one of the molex connectors using the YELLOW (+12v) wire and the black wire (ground).

  • how exactly do you wire this setup up i was trying to do the same thing lol
