He's agitated because he can't tell Merlin is in danger, just like Merlin was in 'The Poisoned Chalice'; implying Arthur and Merlin have psychic bond.

i live on mainland australia and we're way behind... maybe i've missed something, but does uther have magic? it looked like he used it to help arthur sleep. maybe that's old knowledge :)
